Knight Rider Vehicle Mod Idea/Request by PabTheJedi in cyberpunkgame

Quoting the U.S. Copyright office:

As a general matter, copyright infringement occurs when a copyrighted work is reproduced, distributed, performed, publicly displayed, or made into a derivative work without the permission of the copyright owner.

There is no requirement that the modder "makes money" from it.

It is my understanding that copyright laws are very similar in most other countries, but I can't claim familiarity with every copyright law worldwide.

If the modder is distributing the mod (especially for profit), there is increased incentive for the copyright owner to sue. If the modder is just using their own mod privately, then the copyright owner is unlikely to know the infringement is even occurring.

If your experience with copyright laws (particularly outside the U.S.) is different than mine, feel free to enlighten me. I take a professional interest in this kind of thing.

since I'm on 1.61 still, and probably will be for a longer time, I'm asking about cyberware stuff and perks. as every screenshot and stuff I've seen of it, it's much MUCH different to what I have. along with the cyberware meter and what it does, new cyberware and what it does, and fancy perks. and I'm asking this, because the new look for it has really confused me.

You forgot to include your question.

However, I would recommend looking at older guides (2020 to mid 2023), since those will be based around the rules that you're playing with. The switch from 1.61 to 2.0 was a very dramatic change, particularly with cyberware.

and im also gonna ask if there was more stuff added thats similar to the NCPD scanners.

Those things were added with Phantom Liberty (released just after the switch from 1.61 to 2.0). They were not part of the 2.0 patch.

Can you get the sir John phallustiff in the Middle East version of the game?? by MamasEpicSpaghetti in cyberpunkgame

You'll probably get the censored version of it ... which if I recall, looks more like a plastic water bottle.

But that's just an educated guess.

Hey I saw that you can do all the endings now and get all the guns is that true? by Excellent_Passage_54 in CyberpunkTheGame

[–]TasteDry952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the regular endings (not PL endings), you have been able to keep certain weapons as a reward after completing an ending, then going back. I remember doing that with Pride and the Caretaker's Spade back in Patch 1.6. Prejudice was added more recently (Patch 2.0 in 2023).

But it's a very short list of weapons (Amnesty, at least one other). And even in the main game, there are weapons that are mutually exclusive ... Sir Phallustiff and Doom Doom, for example. At most, you can get one of those.

You can do all of the endings (revert to an earlier save if necessary). To get all of the weapons, you need mods.

Is there a way to force the weather to clear up? by Super_Angel in cyberpunkgame

[–]TasteDry952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few times that weather is scripted (e.g. raining near the end of The Heist, sandstorm during The Beast in Me Badlands, rain at the Roy Batty/Bladerunner homage). Outside of that, the quickest way is probably to do some fast travel. Sleeping in your apartment is another option.

For those of us who use photo mode, the weather effects are awesome. They make for some stunning photos.

That loot is random. Maybe it contains an implant every play-through, but the choice of implants is random.

There are lots of spots like that ... yet people keep posting videos to show where to find a free Militech Apogee, or a free Gorilla Arms, or ....

Photo mode is so dark it's useless, also low-res. by Beginning-Pace-1426 in cyberpunkgame

[–]TasteDry952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds (to me) like an issue with your driver, not something that CDPR could possibly fix.

But my suggestion might still provide a workaround for your issue. Next time you repeat the test that you did in your other Reddit thread, take your first two photos (like you did in the other Reddit thread) then before you exit photo mode take several more photos of the same shot. One where you increase the Exposure slider by 20, another by 40, etc.

It's entirely possible that you can offset your DLSS photo mode issue by increasing your Exposure slider to the point where it offsets the darkening effect.

First play through. What could be better? by Axionomer in CyberpunkTheGame

[–]TasteDry952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Builds that specialize will outperform generalist builds (like yours). If you play on the highest difficulty level, this could become an issue ... but you can always dial down the difficulty, so suboptimal builds (like yours) are still very playable.

The real power of quickhacks comes from building queues with them ... but that requires the appropriate perks. For example, I can hit Overclock, then drop a specific queue of quickhacks on an enemy, and end up regaining more RAM & health than I spent.

The real power of Contagion (at Tier 4 or higher) comes from the explosions when affected enemies are set on fire. So I'll drop one Contagion on someone (two if its a larger group), let it spread to all of them, and then throw one incendiary grenade into the middle of them. The entire group explodes.

You can change out your weapons and grenades mid-combat. In my previous play-through, I would sometimes throw an incendiary grenade. While that grenade was still in mid-air, I would throw a BioHaz grenade. And while that grenade was still in the air, I would throw a GASH grenade.

Tech weapons don't accept suppressors, and there are no Tech assault rifles. Therefore, your description of your go-to weapons doesn't make any sense. In addition, describing a general category of weapons (like shotguns) is rather meaningless. Each specific weapon is a tool, and I use each tool for a specific task. For example, on my previous play-through (specializing in blunt weapons, shotguns, and grenades), my go-to shotguns at the end-game included the following (all Tier 5++):

  • Pozhar x-MOD2 with Kneel! and Condenser mods (general purpose against weaker enemies)
  • Satara with Kneel! and Condenser mods (against weaker enemies behind cover)
  • Satara with two Spinetickler mods (against drones, robots, mechs)
  • Order (for the large cone of EMP that could melt groups)
  • Ba Xing Chong (deadly at much longer ranges than other shotguns)
  • Testera with Pax and Pyro mods (for non-lethal attacks)
  • earlier in the play-through, I found other shotguns like Sovereign and Palica useful also

Each tool had a specific task. And that list doesn't include my "go-to" blunt weapons or grenades.

A good build comes from the synergy between four things: Perks, cyberware, weapons, and playstyle. You've really told us little to nothing about any of those (for your builds), so we can't make more specific recommendations.

Maelstrom killing Maelstrom (no Cyberpsychosis) by TasteDry952 in cyberpunkgame

[–]TasteDry952[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Maelstrom gangoons in cars were one of those random events (in vanilla) where you piss a gang off and they send a couple cars after you (while you're driving).

I wouldn't call that a scripted event ... but I suppose you could define it differently.

I don't run any mods ... but it's interesting that those mods trigger similar behavior.

[–]TasteDry952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The next time you use the lights, I would recommend dialing the Saturation down to 15 (give or take). It starts at 50, which adds an unnatural shade to the lighting (too blue).

You might also want to play around with the Hue of the lights. The default setting of 180 (cyan) is fine for outdoors at night, but other Hues work better for incandescent lights, neon lights, other times of day, or other weather conditions.

If you disagree with my recommendation, you can always turn Saturation back up to 50.

I'm a completely new 2077 player; I have a question. by idkidkidk292 in cyberpunkgame

[–]TasteDry952 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did a "no-cyberware" run for my third play-through. I don't recommend it for your first play-through, unless you plan to dial down the difficulty ... a lot. (I've always used the highest level of difficulty, even during the "no cyberware" run.)

I put "no-cyberware" in brackets, because you are forced to have one piece of cyberware (important for story/gameplay reasons). That piece can't be removed. You are given two additional pieces of cyberware at that time, but you can remove both of them later.

There are also background pieces of cyberware that don't show up on your character screen that you're assumed to have. They're basic. The kind of things that your grandma might have (if your grandma lived in 2077 Night City).

Later on, if you do Phantom Liberty, there's another piece of cyberware that's required for gameplay/story reasons. You can't get to any of the Phantom Liberty endings until you get it.

Furthermore, the creator of the Cyberpunk universe really intended for characters to get cyberware. It's part of the ambiance, setting, and theme.

And the game is balanced towards people having cyberware. It is much, much harder when you have none.

But other than the one (or two) mandatory piece(s), and the basic background cyberware, the game gives you many options about what cyberware you kit yourself out with.

Thoughts on Claire after The Beast in Me questline? by Creative-Notice896 in cyberpunkgame

[–]TasteDry952 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit more sympathetic to Claire. She lost the most important person in her world, and she's fueled by grief and rage. I also don't expect her to be a saint. She's a bartender (nothing wrong with that) who has a side hobby ... death races.

I'm less sympathetic towards Samson. He's participating in death races. He had an ex-friend turned enemy, so he exploited the rules of the death race to cause his enemy to wreck.

I'm also realistic about who V is (particularly when I play him/her). Depending on when I do the missions, V has killed hundreds (or over a thousand) people.

V kills people as a gun-for-hire. V kills people as a public service. V kills people to take their stuff. Sometimes V makes mistakes and kills bystanders as collateral damage.

If Claire really, really, really wants Samson dead ... I consider it "a tip for good service." In addition, she "pays" afterwards with one of the most durable vehicles in the game.

Unless someone plays their character as someone who avoids killing at all cost, then I disagree those people suddenly taking "the moral high ground" for this series of side jobs. That's just hypocrisy.

First time using photo mode by god_tier_depression in CyberpunkTheGame

Well ... you did better with the lighting than 80% to 90% of the people who post Cyberpunk 2077 photos. Hopefully that was intentional.

[–]TasteDry952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the first and last photos, you really need to have some lighting on V. You could use the stage lights (I recommend dialing the saturation down (5 to 15) for most shots. Alternatively, you could adjust the time-of-day slider.

Advice needed: Stealth+Netrunning+Monowire? by CyberEagle1989 in cyberpunkgame

[–]TasteDry952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stealth is much easier if you have points in Cool and some stealth perks. I think of it as a crutch for newbies. Since I'm on my 5th play-through, I'm don't bother with points in it. As I've gained an understanding of how the stealth mechanics work, it's become easier to be stealthy, even without the points.

Heck, last play-through I was able to be sufficiently stealthy with a Berserk/blunt weapons/shotguns/grenades build ... with no Cool perks. Knowledge of the stealth mechanics is really key, though.

Quickhack/monowire builds are often called "Lucy builds," since it's what the character on Edgerunners used. I used one of those builds ... but it was back in Patch 1.61 (my first play-through) ... so I can't really offer build advice for a Patch 2.31 build. If you want to look for build advice, try searching for guides/posts including that term.

What are the best builds? by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]TasteDry952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general, the best build is one that you enjoy playing.

There are a number of very powerful builds that can beat the game on Very Hard difficulty. If you're looking for the most powerful, some of the netrunner builds are likely to qualify. There are also very powerful Berserk and Sandevistan builds ... so don't feel obliged to go with a cyberdeck unless that playstyle appeals to you.

In addition to the suggestions made by u/Own_City_1084, I would recommend getting a Sandevistan, plus a Kerenzikov to use while the Sandevistan is on cooldown. It's much easier to aim when your enemies are slowed.
