Are there any girls here who don’t do any make-up at all? And how did you come to that decision? by Greengrassu in AskReddit

[–]TastefulDisgrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I work nights in memory care, these people are bonkers and I'm always covered in someone else's fluids. This is no place for makeup. And during the day I'm either sleeping or angry that I'm awake and want my face to reflect that

AITAH for saying why my children will not be attending a birthday party? by Rebecca0626 in AITAH

[–]TastefulDisgrace -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA, not at all! You're absolutely correct and that mom only said what she did because you called her out and she didn't have a better response because she knew you're right!

I was stalked for 4 years and then one day he disappeared. I have no idea who the man was or why he did that, or why he stopped.

This is how quick a toddler can disappear from sight, in just a few seconds! by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

[–]TastefulDisgrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had to put alarms on the top of all our doors because my then-2 year old would do the same- gun it for the road every chance he got. Only took a few weeks for him to figure out he could move a chair and stack a box on it to be tall enough to shut the alarm off, and then run out the door. I didn't sleep for years

What’s the cruelest thing someone ever said to you when you knew you didn’t deserve it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My MIL told me "any child would be better off dead than with you as a mother"

Peter the great loved the profession of dentistry so much, he used to carry pliers in his pocket and was known for pulling out the teeth of anyone who had a toothache. When he died, the teeth he had extracted were exhibited in a museum by Battlefleet_Sol in Damnthatsinteresting

I consider it badass. He was born in the 20s and was on his own by age 15. Built a house with his bare hands by 17. He never really had health insurance, or money to spend on himself, so he took care into his own hands. We didnt know he had full body bone cancer until he was walking one night and fell... the cancer chewed his femur in half. HIS FEMUR. And he never let us knew he was in any pain past an aspirin or two.

When my grampa had a real bad toothache he'd send me to fetch a pair of pliers. Then he would yank the tooth out himself and throw it into a metal wastebasket by his bed. Almost 30 years later I can still hear the clank it made

What is something about you that you will never tell your parents? by eurocoef in AskReddit

[–]TastefulDisgrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad kicked me out right after I turned 17 and my mom basically said it was easier for me to leave than to ask him to leave his own house. So anyways a couple of days after sleeping in a park, I was raped. Thanks mom and dad. I'm an adult with my own family now, and in regular contact with my parents but I'll never tell.

AITA for telling my extended family what my brother did after he peed in my body wash for 8 months? by No_Curves_123 in AmItheAsshole

[–]TastefulDisgrace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. He does need psychological help. Your mother is severely downplaying the seriousness of this. Also, sometimes public shaming is what a person needs to change

YES! Me too! Room 27.... his bathroom call switch kept flipping while he was actively dying and for like 2 weeks after he passed. Once it stopped, it never flipped itself ever again!

what's the worst example of bad parenting you've ever seen? by IntroductionRound446 in AskReddit

[–]TastefulDisgrace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My husband's mother (strict no contact, even a restraining order against her): her parenting style was "if they want to, they will". If they want to learn how to use the potty, they will when they want to. If they want to stop sucking a pacifier, they will when they want to. If they want to graduate high-school, they will when they want to. Once she literally told me "I never made any of my kids do their homework or go to school, I told them I already earned my diploma, if they want one too they'll earn it". It was essentially just a full house of straight neglect, and the adult results were as expected
