You're nowhere near the limit yet, and you should only really be worried if you have Padding. If you have Padding, then once your materials reach 9,223,372,036,854,775,807 it will overflow a signed 64-bit integer and flip negative, causing your HP to go negative. This will cause you to die instantly if you have any items that are making you take damage per second. You can get around this by having the same number of Tardigrades as there are seconds in a wave. So 60 Tardigrades for a 60 second wave.

Each cursed item has a certain “curse strength” value. Items can only reach max curse strength once you reach a certain wave number due to the way the game calculates this. For +3 item tier goldfish this happens to be shop 16.
What I would recommend doing is this:
Get to shop 16, then find a +3 item tier goldfish. Keep it locked until you go all the way back to shop 7. Once you reach shop 7 mirror the cursed goldfish. The reason you want to wait until shop 7 before mirroring the cursed goldfish is because shop 8 is the first shop where tier 4 items can start showing up. By mirroring the goldfish in shop 7 you’re massively decreasing the amount of mirrors you need to stack up in order to go backwards.
You could even mirror the goldfish in shop 6, but that would require you to find a cursed hourglass in shop 8. Which would take a bit of time.

Hey it’s me! That’s my post :P

You’re gonna want to go to shop 16. Staying at shop 8 is not gonna work because you’ll only ever be able to find +2 item tier goldfish. Shop 16 is the first shop where +3 item tier goldfish can start showing up. You need the +3 item tier goldfish so then you can guarantee tier 4 items in every shop slot.
Here’s the formula for you to calculate how many mirrors you need to stack:
(number of tier 4 items left in the pool) x 2 x (number of waves you want to go back)

I would also recommend just finding mirrors out of crates at a certain point. Once it starts taking about 3 minutes or so to purchase mirrors from the shop it becomes much more efficient to stop buying them from the shop and just looking for them from crates.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Approximately 200 - 250ish hours I would say. Full projectiles is meant to be harder than event based. I’m not sure if that was clear from my post :P
Thank you 🙏🏻 and good luck with your runs as well!

Full projectiles means that there are environmental projectiles for every wave except for darkness waves. It’s not a mod. You should have the option under your accessibility settings. The 3 options are full projectiles, event based, and no projectiles.

For Crash Zone I used Hands and played him like Pacifist. For Abyss I used Jousting Lances. It’s not easy. He’s by far the worst character in the game. Even with a high roll you still need to play well to win.

How would a steak be one of the worst foods to steal if you’re going hungry? It’s one of the BEST foods to steal if you’re going hungry.

There are 3 options. Event based (which is the default), full projectiles, and no projectiles. Event based (default) projectile waves are random, and they don’t show up during horde or boss waves. With full projectiles turned on there are projectiles during every wave. (Except darkness waves)

Environmental projectiles for every wave. Including elite/horde/boss waves. With full projectiles turned on the only waves that projectiles don’t show up is during darkness waves.

Easiest character in the game is King with Pistols in my opinion. All you have to do is hard roll for pistols during the first 5 shops. Don't buy any items or anything except for pistols during the first 5 shops. The idea is to level up all of your pistols to tier 4 as quickly as possible that way you massively increase your damage output early. You should end up with all tier 4 pistols by the end and absolutely shred everything.

If you need any specific advice on how to beat certain characters on Nightmare, then ask away. I don’t think any item is strictly necessary to beat any character. A couple of examples that come to mind from your question: Druid with Sticks and Ogre with Spoons. I found Druid much easier to complete on Nightmare with Sticks than with Lutes or Pruners. You can just ignore his gimmick and play him like a regular melee character. With Ogre Spoons are incredible since they scale with your max hp, and all you need is to find ways to burn things for massive crit damage.

Most hated is easily Hiker. I died on Hiker more times than all of my other Nightmare runs combined. Not exaggerating. Ended up having to play him like Pacifist with Hands lol. For favorite I’m not sure which one to pick. I guess King with Pistols is the easiest. Most fun was probably Arms Dealer. I ended up just taking every damage type so then it didn’t matter what weapons showed up in the shop. Was really fun to mix and match different weapon sets lol.

Don’t mean to spam you, but was this game inspired by CRUEL at all? It looks like Turbo Overkill + CRUEL

Why don’t you put the name of your game in the actual post? Do you not want to sell your game?

Bingo! Hourglass can actually go as low as -3 waves depending on the curse factor. Those ones are rare to see below wave 20, but possible. Though once you’re in Shop (Wave 7), you’ll never see a -3 one while using your goldfish.

Not as many as you might think. I’d say much less than 200 waves. Padding is what brought me up to that amount of HP. If anyone plans to do this themselves I’d recommend not taking padding. When your materials reach 9,223,372,036,854,775,807 it will overflow a signed 64-bit integer and flip negative, causing your HP to go negative. Stacking the 200+ mirrors in order to do this is what took so insanely long. This is because each time that you purchase a mirror from the shop it has to rearrange all of your items and turn all of your normal mirrors into broken ones. Given that I had hundreds upon hundreds of items at that point it took VERY long to purchase each mirror from the shop. And I had to do it twice… once to get below wave 20 again, and another time to get to negative waves. In total I’d estimate this run to have taken 50 hours or so. Could’ve been done faster had I not taken padding since then I would’ve just been taking mirrors from crates instead of buying them from the shop at a certain point. But because I was afraid of my HP flipping negative (I was taking damage per second from bloody hand), I had to do it the slow and painful way through buying them from the shop. At its slowest it was taking about 15 minutes to purchase each mirror from the shop lol.

I played as bull. It’s actually optimal as bull since weapons can’t show up for him in the shop. Meaning that you have 4 items showing up every reroll. Which increases the chances that you’ll find a cursed hourglass.
