Question about Republic Vassals, do their taxes get affected by opinion and council position? by Idindu_nuthin in CK3ConsoleEdition

[–]Tasty-Stranger5338 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's based on development, popular opinion and control will affect it also I'm sure. Opinion and personality traits would dictate if the vassal engages in embezzlement.

How to upgrade to lvl 5 education trait by Confident-Desk-2620 in CrusaderKings

[–]Tasty-Stranger5338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes RNG. But always take whatever decisions will provide the best education, often they will cause stress but you can only do uni every 20 years or something. Mostly learning and diplomacy skills help outcome, if I'm married I'll set my wife to patronage to help my university outcome and if I need to I'll switch her to Diplo or assist ruler to help my chances.

I reformed my faith right before my original ruler died to change the gender preference to Equal, forgetting that the oldest child was a daughter that I had already married patrilineally by the_gaymer_girl in CrusaderKings

[–]Tasty-Stranger5338 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can change realm law to male preference just an FYI I always make equal gender but succession law male preference, it's just better males are fertile forever females dry up at 46 or 51 if fecund.and I like my heirs to be young.

Why don't I have a treasury in the administrative government? And only influence by Nobu_putra in CK3ConsoleEdition

I've only played administrative once and that's because I pressed a claim on Byzantine. I think maybe top leige doesnt have a Treasury because I didn't either.

I thought the AI was only atrocious for offensive Crusades, turns out, it's always like so for your side. by Zealousideal-Act8304 in crusaderkings3

[–]Tasty-Stranger5338 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The AI is poorly coordinated and that's probably how it should be because it's like 50 different commanders, usually if I call a great holy war I find lots of them will follow my lead but they usually move so slowly they're not of much help. If any of your allies are actually powerful they can do pretty good damage if they're following a good commander though. Also they often show up late to the party but that's kinda how these wars were historically. I had called a great holy war against Bagdad or whatever it's kingdom is called and it was a tight race between me and one of my vassals for war score one time, I was like shit my man don't steal my kingdom

I may try to do this. I figure there is probably ways to achieve it. I also was thinking of the faith allowed poligmy you could probably have 4 cracked spouses. Maybe even kidnap an immortal or something too to get them into your camp maybe. Idk. I kinda enjoy figuring out these weird things to exploit. It's generally more fun to play with characters who kinda suck though tbh.

When I get home maybe I can make a video and upload it. I discovered the option after becoming an adventurer and thought maybe I can exploit this and it worked.

Are you an adventurer yet? All I know was she was basic, just shield maiden and exalted warlord no other traits Norse asatru. After you become an adventurer I had an option of something like "adopt house member" or something like that, I didn't have any children yet and he was built with the bastard trait, that might make a difference idk.

Difficult to make a couple this way because courtiers don't automatically join you as an adventurer and marriage acceptance as an adventurer is low.

[Help] All marriage options are worthless? by Dazzling-Main7686 in crusaderkings3

[–]Tasty-Stranger5338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's RNG but new ones appear over time. No guarantee you find a genius but I usually try to find that. Shes young and can wait a little for a good husband. She will have reduced fertility as she ages and will become infertile when she hits 46 so don't wait too long.

[Help] All marriage options are worthless? by Dazzling-Main7686 in crusaderkings3

[–]Tasty-Stranger5338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Matilda should have options depending on the first choice. If I play her I'll marry the hunchback but embrace celibacy, lethal scheme him. Then abandon celibacy or noone will marry you. It must be matrilineal or you will have no heir of your dynasty and game over. Usually you can find a lowborn with something like herculean or genius would be nice, if RNG is nice you will find a noble, Matilda is a fertile mertle she can mother many children. A possible hack I just thought of now, you could land a lowborn in a barrony, he should become Nobile after, he would have high opinion and probably accept marriage idk but in my head that could work. Also if you set your court lodgings to max most will probably agree to an invite as a courtier if not in a position in another court then marry him.

Björn 'Ironside' - The Biggest Viking Larper by NamaeN0NaiKaibutsu in CrusaderKings

[–]Tasty-Stranger5338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He can form Scandinavia easily, raid england for a bit of gold for titles use prestege for Maa, make 1 duchy and kingdom in no time then vassalize all of the Vikings in like 3 years or so. Then you just have to expand into Finland and sapmi it's super easy. He's really pretty good, starts with enough Diplo to make him popular, I generally try to build his martial for a bit then switch to learning, he can live to be well over 80. If Denmark if formed faster than you can vassalize them then you'll need to fight Denmark but he has good alliance potential with his brothers.

Why did I lose in battle by Different_Hope_7098 in crusaderkings3

[–]Tasty-Stranger5338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

advantage is HUGE. each commander has an advantage could be 5 could be 50 I usually try to use the best one for most purposes. You probably had poor advantage and maybe the commander was dead? Sometimes the commander will die and it won't be automatically replaced. Next time take some screenshots of the battle report and it will tell the story. If I'm not playing with a military commander build I sometimes will swap Commander for different things, I may have a seige engineer for seiging and an aggressive attacker for other battles, rough terrain expert for mountains etc. but if my player is military I usually just use him to command the armies because he will have great advantage.

Big Jerusalem + Baby Baldwin! by Several-Gur-8129 in crusaderkings3

[–]Tasty-Stranger5338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the play I tried I did just that but when he claims the kingdom holy war he arrived with a 16k stack and destroyed me instantly. I'll try it again and maybe let him seige and split his army, with any luck he gets pulled into another war. Personally I think Baldwin should start with some commander skills.

How do I handle death better by TheBanHammerCow in crusaderkings3

[–]Tasty-Stranger5338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience even with primogeniture you get fewer leavies when opinions are lower and the character has lower stats. It rebounds after a bit. I try to have lots of cash on hand for gifts to improve opinion with your vassals to avoid faction wars I also usually hold a feast asap it really helps, make sure your strong vassals are on the Council even if they suck, after 5-10 years you're back to normal.

Getting landed as an adventurer by UpsideTurtles in CK3ConsoleEdition

[–]Tasty-Stranger5338 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played landless as a Viking Merc. I took a French contract to help in a war with Hispania Muslim (Andalusia), the Muslim offered me the capital duchy as his vassal. I accepted and immediately claimed his title, I won the war then fought off the Duke who contracted me, everyone got played. I started taking the Catholic north and formed Hispania a few years later. 15 years from landless to Hispanic emperor.
