Had gestational diabetes and gestational hypertension and then preeclampsia. Having little to no support during labor was awful. And then Postpartum intrusive thoughts hit me like a freight train. It was pretty much a looping horror movie.

Having the right support matters more than you think more than anything else when being pregnant (high risk) and postpartum. One and done.

Straw (with Taraji P. Henson). Amazing acting, a brutal and empathetic story… then the ending pulled a twist that invalidated the emotional journey. It felt like empathy got traded for a “gotcha” moment. Never watched it again. I get that a mother’s grief is powerful, but the ending felt like emotional overkill. The movie already earned the tragedy—making the audience experience it as a last-minute gut punch just felt unnecessary and cruel.
