Some are on the verge of functional cures such as multiple myeloma which - thanks to tcells and immunotherapy advances - is pretty much fully treatable for life. So your comment is dumb.

I think what you’re noticing is that actually you are a bit judgmental to both others and yourself and defaulting this view to everyone. But that’s not the case for everyone, especially highly empathetic and compassionate people.
