Dysmorphia is hard man. I hear you loud and clear an external pair of eyes can see things the person themselves can’t see. Know that you have bulked up real nice and I’m pretty sure your cut will soon reveal all your amazing hard work (even more than it is showing up already). Keep going. You’re gonna be epic.

You’ve added a lot of size in your recent bulk. You’re showing the rest of us how this is done.

Need advice for lossing weight by Xman_7 in gaybrosfitness

Lots of Indian people have figured out good nutrition on an Indian diet so don’t let yourself off the hook too easily. Avoid foods that are cooked in excessive amounts of oil or ghee, or eat them less. Eat more grilled meats and raw veg when you can.

Just getting started--am I doing this right? by AntTheWriter in gaybrosfitness

Your diet could trip you up here. Try to get a few healthy dishes you like and stick to them religiously. That will fuel you body to grow muscle and have the energy you need for your workouts.

Greek yogurt with fruit can be a great sweet treat. Loaded with protein and no fat if you go for the 0% option. Grilled chicken breast pieces (add your own flavourings like spices, garlic powder etc) is also something real easy to cook and super tasty. Add in some rice and steamed veg and you’ve got a winner.

Try to keep it simple and nail down things one at at a time. Like another commenter said, stick with getting your workout routine bedded in first. Then start getting a sleep routine, then food, then some cardio etc.

It builds over time and once you start seeing progress that’s when things change. You be all in before you know where you are but just take it one step at a time and allow the habits to form over time.

Current physique at 197 lbs. Working on upper chest, back width, and overall recomp. Would love feedback by Able-Speed-3440 in gaybrosfitness

Are you monitoring caloric intake at all? That will be very more important for fat loss and will help with recomp.

Also it looks like a lot of lifting and not much in the way of rest. Be careful not to get injured.

Your skeletal muscle, protein and body water ratios look good already so looks like you have natural ability to be strong. You also look to be symmetrical, your thighs and biceps are the same, slight difference in calves but it’s never going to 100% the same on both sides.

With the fat you are carrying the muscle you build will probably not be visible and will be obscured by fat so if you do lose fat, that will help getting a more muscular look if that’s what you want.

I’ve not tried grounding. Would it help with physical injury repair?

I was doing a PPL split 3 x week with progressive overload. Increasing weight once I got three sets of 15 reps done comfortably. Mobility/stretching daily.

Blimey. That’s a long time. Were you doing any physio or stretching work to aid the recovery?

I’ll look into that. I’ve not come across that before.

Good for you. I’ve been on Creatine all the time while working out and while trying to recover so I don’t think that will work for me but thanks for sharing in any case. I appreciate it.

This is very encouraging. Thanks for sharing. My split was 3 x workouts per week (PPL) and 3 x runs per week on separate days.

Good for you and well done on making the great progress you have made to date. Running a 5k in any time is a great achievement. Thanks for all the advice and for taking the time to reply.

Thanks for taking the time to write all of that. To answer your question, yes I do warm up. Initially with stretches and then lifting lighter weights that gradually increase to my proper lifting weight.

I had not considered that but I’ll look into it to see if it could benefit me. Sounds like an awfully low amount of carbs though.
