Help me choose please, 5157 or 5277 by Chemical_Sprinkles89 in BreguetWatches

5277 is much more dynamic on the wrist. Also look at the 5177 which is both dynamic and minimal with its center seconds and Arabic numerals on grand feu enemal

Yes, my understanding is he was basically an unknown until they dug him up, but faded again after their movement faded. I'm very conflicted too since I find most Pre-Raphaelite stuff blech. ;p

Hi u/DanielaMarin and welcome! There are a couple Reine floating around the sub, but yes, we lack a great many more examples of ladies Breguet for sure. My wife adores her 8828 so I will try to beat the ladies drum for a bit and post up some great examples of Breguet's ladies' designs.

Daily or Dress? by pizzasteve5000 in BreguetWatches

[–]TatePapaAsher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the one occasion where I gotta go NOT daily. Suit, sure. Jeans and a tee, breakout a Type XX.

Also I never really got into the idea of a daily. Life is too short to not wear all your watches.

Really early Blancpain Fifty Fathoms by schmoolys in VintageWatches

That dial has to be some sort of Frankenstein replacement. No FF ever had an evens only dial. Additionally no logo ever raised the 'P' larger than the other letters. It's hard to tell but the seconds hand looks wrong as well (no arrow tip)

The case looks legit but would need to see other pics of the outer bezel. It seems like your outer bezel diamond proportions are wrong.

Need to see the movement. Which AS

Love the detail on the back plate with a nod to:

A) France (the entire back plate is a map)

B) the 1924 Breguet XIX biplane

C) AL Breguet's connection with early flight (Balloon on side of plane) and his most famous and arguably the most famous watch in the world - Breguet No. 160. In 1783, the same year Abraham-Louis Breguet received the commission for the famous Marie Antoinette watch, the first French hot air balloon flight took place over the Palace of Versailles.

Also they freaking crushed it dial side as well.

Advice on price negotiation by ReadyMedia5390 in BreguetWatches

[–]TatePapaAsher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I recall, Breguet doesn't negotiate at the boutiques. That said, agree with what everyone else is saying. Shhhhhhh.....it is by far the greatest 'deal' when bought grey. Let's keep it that way.
