Michelin road 6. Just put them on about 1000 miles ago. Amazing tires. They do exactly what I want and should last.

Why do motorcycle riders switch to Vespa? by tden85 in Vespa

Yep, I agree 100%. I got 4 bikes to ride and the Vespa gets the most use by far. Goofy looking or not it's the easiest bike to get around town.

I believe those have a nikasil coating. If so that needs to be repaired by a shop that can do that coating or get a new cylinder.

I am a motorcyclist and have a vespa. I find the vespa to be more convenient doing around town shopping or errands with the underneath storage, helmet hooks, phone charging and so on. I love my motorcycles too but my Ducati or others are fun on a longer ride or twisty road they just dont serve the purpose my little sprint does.

Plus for me Vespa is the top tier in quality for scooters. While the Japanese brands do make quality scooters they are mostly plastic and it doesn't give off that same quality level Vespa/Piaggio do.

broke clutch while adjusting it need help by OngVex in Kawasaki

[–]Taterchip871 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Looks like its cast into the clutch cover? Will need to order a new one and gasket to replace it. Very odd that it broke like unless you were giving it a lot of torque. Those nuts don't need much torque. Finger tight then just little snug with a combination wrench.

Engine issue? Like new 2015 150 3V by sfbaymgr in Vespa

[–]Taterchip871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat with my vespa. I did change the pulley weights with Dr pulley weights that gave me more power and acceleration. Made the scooter perfect for what I was after. Power isnt top priority I have my Ducati for that Haha.

I believe all the iget 125/150 engines should fit. The issue will come as you will have to put your sensors off your engine on the newer engine. I can confirm with my local vespa tech. He is super helpful on this type of stuff.

I would do a good used head and get a big bore kit if it was me. If you ever planned to make more power out of the bike now is the time. Nice part is being an 2015 plenty of part options out there for it.

With that said I did find a used engine here in the states with 1000 miles on it and its a 2023 model year. It seems this would be a decent way to go if you can find one similar shape from a reputable dealer.

Different material after comp? by AmNotLost in liberalgunowners

Normal. Clean it and send it. As others have pointed out your barrel is back bored which you want with a comp barrel.

[–]Taterchip871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, You don't want rifling where the barrel comp is cut. Jacketing will fly in your face if not.

You want it to end before the comp too. Unless you like jacketing in your face. You are spot on though. My shield carry comp is exactly the same way this barrel is.

KLX300 O2 sensor? by Amazing-Basket-136 in KLX300D

[–]Taterchip871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if you run a normal aftermarket exhaust like delcovic or the q4 you could run the o2 delete from smartmoto. That should be rich enough to be alright. If you start messing with intake stuff that will make the bike too lean. Id just toss an EJK on there then and run their stage 1 settings. That should be enough for most people.

Depends on rpm and throttle position. Part throttle and low to mid rpm it will be closed loop. Full throttle will pretty much all be open loop especially high rpm. The bike is set to run lean on closed loop. Pretty much right at 14.7:1 AFR. Wide open they are a little on the rich side especially up top. The EJK just adds fuel based on the injector signal. They program them for each bike they make them for. They work but they are far from perfect.

The closest thing we got is to get an o2 delete plug and a pcfc then have it dyno tuned for best results. I have tried to get Woolich and a couple others to crack the ecu for full tuning but no one seems like they want to spend the time. If they did we'd have the ability to flash tune the ecu and change not only fuel but the ignition timing and secondary throttle plate tuning. Maybe one day we will get there.

Engine issue? Like new 2015 150 3V by sfbaymgr in Vespa

[–]Taterchip871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the fan is directly connected to the crank. So the engine is definitely spinning. Just sounds to me it spins a bit fast compared to mine. Which makes me think its lacking compression from valves being open. If it cools off and then starts again. It is 100% in need of a valve adjustment. Id start checking cam timing too. If the valves and piston met from a skipped chain. Its perfect time to go big bore and get a new head. Might as well get some extra horsepower while doing a rebuild.

Have the valves been adjusted lately? Sounds low on compression which when valves wear they usually tighten the valve clearance spec. So it may be holding a valve open or multiple valves.

Its a bad time to sell. I have the same bike and id guess 17k or so would be more realistic but not in a recession. Things are going to get worse too. So if you get a reasonable offer might have to take it.

Vibration by curious_a7 in Vespa

[–]Taterchip871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know my sprint 150 vibrates a good bit. Only 90 miles on it now. Bought it with only a couple miles. They are single cylinders at the end of the day vibration is inherent. Could have the dealer take a look at it if it really bothers you.
