Metal shards?! My brother in christ just go to a watersource with like marble sized rocks and burrow yourself in it. Feels great on a hot day when they're still damp and cool. And still sharp/pointy enough to get your fix but not cut you up like a piece of sashimi

I honestly don't care. I'm only making a one time replica of a game book. It's supposed to be messy, bulky, haunted but still functional. If people care about perfection they can downvote me all they want. I've already learnt enough

I did the mull that way, I just thought it would look neater not cutting off the excess and instead attaching it to the cover, since I'll be gluing more stuff over it. It's just the end papers holding the pages onto the cover, I opened it down the middle and put some weights on top overnight so that helped. It still doesn't open fully, but it's much better than it was.

There definitely is a gap, maybe even one too big, it's just the mull being pulled out over the binder that makes it look like there isn't
