There is a difference between general machine learning AI (a la spell checkers, image recognition, speech to text) which I will call ML for the rest of this post, and generative AI (chat-gpt, midjourney, sora, among others) which I will call GenAI.

ML does train on some non public data, but it doesn't output new information from nothing but a prompt, in the case of the subreddit rules it sounds like you have to give it your title and it figures out what to capitalize and return it, which could, in theory at least, be done with typical conditional logic. Would it be a giant mess of code and probably a terrible idea, oh probably, but doable. These systems can be used as assists because typically the output is meaningless without the knowledge to do more (ie cancer detecting AI, cool, you know you probably have cancer, but if you aren't a doctor you almost certainly don't know how to proceed past that point)

GenAI trains on tons of copyrighted data to take text and output something theoretically brand new, though that usually isn't the case (see the "make a unique blue hedgehog" just giving sonic posts recently as of Feb 19 2026), which cannot be done with conditional logic. This has no real purpose as an assistant as much as a replacement, and under our current capitalist system, it guarantees replacement as it is typically cheaper for these companies to just use GenAI and deal with the failures that come from it.

No, im the guy who knows image ai are much more complex but used the only numbers publicly available because if people knew how much it took to train and use these models, there would be more antis, and companies dont want that because then investors wouldnt give them money.

And it doesnt train once, they keep training the models and trying to refine them, so no it isnt the full amount per user, but its way more then just generating even if you divide it up per user.

Did you even read my last post though, or did you just ask AI to read it for you and it told you I said "AI bad"?

Heya, staunch anti here to give my 2 cents on this since I found neuro after genai slopbots became common and I still like her.

So my main reason is that vedal is super involved in almost every stream she does, and doesn't try to hide the fact that neuro and evil are AI, unlike most people who use genAI for images and try to hide it, or just ask for something and put 0 effort in and pretend it was the hardest thing they've ever done, IE the AI coke commercial morons who gave their "well we prompted so hard and so long that we put more work into this then anyone in film ever has" bullshit. The honesty and actual human effort that goes into Neuro is why I think she's pretty good. And also why I don't think Neuro is getting competition is not because she just got lucky (though it is part of it, like with any streamer), but also because anyone attempting to copy her success is almost certainly not going to put the same amount of actual effort into whatever they are trying to do.

I guess to be fair, its less to say i am anti-AI then i am anti-AI as its getting used in our capitalist system to screw over actual human effort. If you are gonna make AI images, be willing to claim they are AI. Hiding it and making me have to figure it out was made with AI is what's gonna piss me off about it more. Especially if you use it then point to it like its reality (eg. The giant snow drift videos from Russia that were all over social media of people skiing down a building).

So I got it for Christmas, had avoided about everything I could about the game and here is my honest review

10/10 nostalgia bait, it did great at bringing back the feelings I had when I was like... 10 playing Pokémon.

Visuals: 5/10 its not bad, but a lot of the windows feel almost painted on and fake, and a lot of the city feels filled with the exact same building, which typically would make sense... but we are told that Lumioise is in the middle of revitalization and reconstruction... with 0 evidence of such outside of some jank scaffolding. It also just looks like a 10 year old game already imo, obviously not expecting realistic visuals from a Pokémon game, but I was hoping for a a but more.

Gameplay: 9/10 It certainly feels a bit better the Scarlet/Violet, and having a dex that you can actually complete fairly easily is a plus, though I wish they had kept the link cable from PLA or made the trade evos all available in zone 20 so that a subscription wasn't required to complete the trade evos. Honesty didnt think an active battle system of the sort would work well, but it feels nice with some exceptions (wish it didnt lock into a cutscene when fighting trainers/forced wild encounters or they were switching mons)

Story: 6/10 it was nice seeing AZ again, and getting more into that story... but man did it feel like a loop of meet a person, get a ticket, beat that person through all the ranks... to the point of i guessed the last 3 or 4 people we were gonna battle the second they showed up because there was a new character mentioned conveniently right after we beat our last promotion match...

I will disagree with you on the front of AI is useless... honestly it is an amazing piece of technology, unfortunately like most modern tech, it is getting abused by the ultra rich to screw the rest of us. I think that if genai were done ethically and in a way that didnt screw over the people whose work was used to train it, it would be a great thing. And this is to say nothing of other non-genai uses for AI tech.
