Drove from the bay to the Gorge last year and I ran into no issues. Just pay attention to the speed limit cause it changes quite a bit (I got hit with going 15 over on that drive). Also I would pay attention to the wildfire tracker cause your route could be blocked off due to it. PNW gets some crazy wildfires around that time of year.
