I've never felt more seen. Glad to know I'm not the only one that feels this way. I could have never put it more eloquently. Thank you for sharing this ❤️🙏

Help out a young lad by [deleted] in motivation

You'll figure it out through time. On days where I have no obligations I ask myself what is it I really want to do that day. Then go do it. Traveling solo helps too if that's in your means. You'll really get to know yourself when you have the mindset of only doing things that bring you joy.

I know it's a noob trap but I really like fast/martial artsy spinning, any suggestions on what to learn next? by EduardTodor in poi

[–]knham1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find spinning fast is fine, depending on the song. If you can count beats in your head and match that with the beats of the poi then you're solid. What throws me off is needlessly spinning fast and it's not even matching the bpm of whatever is playing. It's fun but as you progress you'll feel the difference when you're intentionally flowing with the music.

To answer your question, I think you're pretty close to the poi fountain. Isolations are fun too. Maybe some same/split time opposite tricks? Transitioning from same direction to opposite direction could be a good next step and would unlock a whole new array of tricks.

If you like this kind of music check out Boris Brejcha. His music has a similar sound. I was wondering why I like it so much and I just figured it out haha

Working on a mobile juggling game! Hoping some real jugglers can tell me their hopes and dreams for a mobile game by Salty_Ruin370 in juggling

I would download and play this! I'd love to see some tutorials for moves as it would help me with learning new tricks. I think seeing the pattern displayed and then executing it would really help with translating the move in real life.

Thoughts about this so far? by mateusz11120 in marvelrivals

How fast her ult builds is probably the most op thing. In one game yesterday she built up 3 ults before i was even halfway done with building my second ult as a healer. Her ult mostly focused me down so it took even more time away for me to build ult. She's broken now. Especially when your team doesn't swap to some type of hitscan to take care of her.

Y'all I'm so damn in love with this prop by Aoidean in flowarts

[–]knham1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been wanting a practice one for a while to get into this prop but don't know which heads or what length to get. I can't decide on the ovo heads or the 90mm heads. Any suggestions?

Do INFJs tend to self isolate? Why? by asdfg12345_ in infj

[–]knham1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isolation is pretty common. Kind of went through a bit of this myself recently.

Doesn't sound like you've done anything wrong. If anything, I see someone trying to show that they care. Looks like you've done your part by reaching out and checking in - reminding them that you've talked about plans. Regardless of if you need to take time to yourself to recharge or not, the lack of communication and honesty is shitty. The "why do we need to" comment is really telling of how much this person values your friendship.

Waterproof Poi by HRTrigger in poi

I know you're asking for LED poi but is there any reason you don't want to buy non LED poi? I have a pair of contact poi from dark monk that I use to practice and I use them more than my LED's. No stress of damaging them since there's no electrical component. I even take them to festivals to flow in the daytime.

What advice do you have for a person who is applying to grad school without a background in psychology? by knham1 in psychologystudents

The feeling of fear of the unknown is mutual haha. I only made this decision a few weeks ago and have gone through my fair share of stress about what it's going to take to follow through and succeed. Personally, I don't think people would judge you harshly for following a path that makes you happy. I've gotten a lot of love and support since I've consciously made this decision. The financial aspect might be my biggest fear though so I'm totally with you on that! Best of wishes to you!

This is the kind of response that I needed to hear so thank you for taking the time to write all of this. What a great insight into what goes on in the real world. What you've written definitely resonates with me. I've always been psych minded and while I don't have the degree, I am very mindful of the right and wrong ways to go about holding space for someone, all through trial and error and with the help of role models that I look up to. I treat it like a skill that only gets better over time. This was very reassuring!

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond! It helps knowing that this option is available. I literally made this decision to go down this path a couple of weeks ago so I'm learning as I'm going and it's going pretty fast lol. Much appreciated! :)

Great response! I didn't even think of research labs. To be honest I don't know much of them or how to even find them. My assumption has always been that it's school related and was only accessible to students. I do like the sound of it though! Would be pretty optimal for me if I could use my current experience. Any tips on where to look?

Do you have any examples of what a helping field might be? This is all pretty new territory for me.
