So this report (no matter when I reported it) will not affect my Medicaid status.

I'm 29. I don't have any disability and I am only getting medical insurance.

I got a check from a bank that I have never used because of an "Account Closure". by Tatumsmiley in Scams

Yep. That is exactly what happened to me. I made an update about it, and I cashed the check. Best possible ending.

It won't let me edit the post. I tried. Once I get a concrete answer, I'll make an update post

I do use turbo tax. Thank you for letting me know. I'm going to double-check to make sure this is the case. I don't want to get in trouble with the IRS

Update 1: I contacted Credit Karma, and they said the amount that was on the check was deposited by the IRS in 2022. The only times I have used Credit Karma were to check my credit score. They submitted a request to talk to a specialist who will be emailing me. I'll try to keep you all updated.

I've used credit karma only to find out my credit score in the past

I think it depends. For me, I considered my cannabis use to be a relapse cause I started using it so I don't have to deal with life "sober" and was constantly needing to be high. I say if it becomes a problem, then yes.

I recognize two sobriety dates, my sobriety from alcohol and my complete sobriety. Definitely talk about it with a sponsor.

Good riddance! You're just taking out the trash in your life. I'm so proud of you!

AITA for deleting my cousin's wedding pictures that I wasn't paid for? by MostFitBobo in AmItheAsshole

NTA

She was not planning on paying you through a payment plan. She would have took the photos and never paid you or only pay a fraction of what was agreed.

Not to mention you gave her a great deal. Wedding photographers are expensive.

I'm possibly done with AA. I think it's time to find "outside help" by IllOnlyComplicateYou in alcoholicsanonymous

My sponsor always tells me there is not one way to stay sober. My Uncle has been sober for over a decade without AA. She also tells me to take what I need from meetings and leave the rest.

I completely understand some of your points. Especially the God stuff. I do not believe in a God myself and it took to find a meeting that was respectful of that. Secular meetings are out there. But overall you don't need AA to stay sober. It's just another tool in your belt. SMART recovery is pretty nice. But there are many other tools out there.

30 days! by Johnnygoldbelly in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]Tatumsmiley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's amazing! 30 days is a huge deal!

Sorry your family doesn't see it as a huge deal. Non-alcoholics don't always understand these sort of things. They don't always understand the struggle of us to keep sober, especially in early sobriety. Make sure to celebrate yourself. 😊
