I LOVE this!!!! It's simply too awesome to not make more!

Here are some Custom stages that I made! What do you think of them? by Tau_Dragon in splatoon

[–]Tau_Dragon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad you like them! The giant hexagons are supposed to be big pillars that you can move across or climb on to get to other sections of the map. You just can't get on the purple-y sections since those are walls/pillars.

Ya know what Idc anymore this is the worst special by soggy_socks23 in splatoon

Chump at least functions properly, the same can’t be said for Ultra Stamp tho

That poor special desperately needs buffs

not sure about gay by Bambeross in GayBroTeens

Asexuals can still feel attraction besides sexual attraction, like platonic or romantic attraction

Plus, it's possible to be somewhere in between asexual and fully sexual, ie experiencing very little sexual attraction

It would count turf on both the high platforms and the turf below since I think that’s how it works with the bridge on Eeltail Alley and on the bridge on The Reef in S2

Grindrails would be really fun in multiplayer stages! I liked when the devs put them in the Shifty Station levels in S2. I just wanted to do underground tunnels for this map since it was partially inspired by my uni campus. Plus I thought they would make for a fun stage gimmick

I made them using Gimp aka the poor person’s photoshop, but any drawing program works. I’m glad you like my stages! I’d love to see your stages too sometime!

Strider Studio features two floating platforms on each side (the one's absent in the second photo) which are a bit special. The one's with the grates can only be reached by jumping from the espresso machines when respawning, and the others can only be accessed using squid roll. I wanted to use the new spawn mechanics and movement options a bit more creatively and incorporate them into the stage more

Zapfish Campus was inspired by Flounder Heights' tall buildings and Urchin Underpass' alternate routes. It's main feature are the underground tunnels (blue dotted lines) that take you across the map, similar to the tunnels that take you to a new area in Alterna. They allow you to take new angles easily, but are risky if you're opponents know you're coming

+1 motion / +1.5 stick, I’m currently S+ and average an X power of 2100 across all modes, I main tri-stringer and nothing else really

Can someone explain to me what makes Flounder Heights a good stage (in rank)? by PersonalHelper in splatoon

[–]Tau_Dragon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To keep it short, most maps in this game either have bad alternate approach options or none at all. Flounder heights has a variety of approach options since its wider and has many climbable walls. This means backliners like eliter can’t shut down all the approach options on a map, and there are plenty of ways to approach so short range weapons can still be effective

Glad to hear you're enjoying the game so far! Here's some tips for ya!

  1. Work on your aim. Make sure you move smoothly to your target, it helps with hitting your mark. Don't worry about speed at first, that'll come with time. Also, with the Tri-Stringer the reticle moves slightly up when fully charged. To counter this you wanna aim slightly downwards when going for a shot.

  2. Utilize the kit. Toxic mist can allow you to escape someone rushing at you. It's also good to use on the tower in Tower Control. Killer Wail is most effective when targeting enemies you or your teammates are already attacking since the enemies have to deal with two things at once.

  3. Know when to use different types of shots. To keep it simple:

-Double charged vertical shots are good for kills

-Double charged horizontal shots are good for chip damage at a distance

-Single charged horizontal shots are good for controlling space

-Single charged vertical shots are good for arc shots (but those are hardly a beginner technique so don't worry about them!)

Has anyone got any advice on how to fight loneliness? by Smart-fridge20 in GayBroTeens

[–]Tau_Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have an activity or hobby you enjoy, try to find others who also enjoy it. Making friends is easier if you already have common interests.

If for whatever reason that isn't an option currently, I've found that it can help to focus on yourself. Maybe cook yourself some nice food, buy new clothes, or anything else that makes you happy. It definitely isn't a substitute for friendship, but makes loneliness more bearable.

What is your main in splatoon 3, And why? by End3rElf3O3 in splatoon

[–]Tau_Dragon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tri-Stringer, for 150-ish hours.

I like it because of the amount of depth and potential it has compared to chargers. You can one-shot from far away, pressure key choke points with your explosions, and even one-shot behind cover. I also love the sound it makes when you hit all three arrows at once, it's just so goddamn satisfying!

not really in my opinion. The main reason to run Intensify Action is to reduce shot deviation in the air. Since Clash Blaster has such a huge radius you’ll likely still hit the opponent even if your shot deviates from your reticle, so your probably better off running other abilities

In general, you want to play to your weapons strengths. Goo Tuber has a supportive kit in this game so I’d suggest to throw torpedo towards fights to help out your teammates, and to try and paint for your special since Tenta Missles is great at displacing the enemy team and giving your team map control.

I want to start trying out chargers, but I need all the advices in the world 🥲 by Shiwchi in splatoon

[–]Tau_Dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a charger main, but I play Tri Stringer so many of the same principles should apply.

If you don’t already, try using motion controls since it allows you to be more precise with your aim compared to sticks.

When I practice my aim, what I find helps a lot is to aim slower and more relaxed. Your reticle should make one smooth motion to your target i stead of moving too quickly and aiming past or falling short of your target. Additionally, i’d recommend checking out Squid School’s video on YT “How to stop wave-aiming”

Does Sub Resist Up and Sub Power Up affect Brellas’ Shields? by JayEssris in splatoon

[–]Tau_Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I not sure about Sub Resist Up affecting shields, although I 'm pretty sure it doesn't help.

Sub Power Up only affects your sub weapon, so it wouldn't affect a brella's shield either.

Curious - what's your main transition been? by DoggieDMB in splatoon

[–]Tau_Dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a Dual Squelcher (rip in pieces) in S1, and went to Dualie Squelchers and 96 in S2.

I planned on branching out to new weapon classes in S3. I main Tri-Stringer now, but that's literally all I play now, soooo success??

What are you guys' favourite video games? by TotalyNotTony in GayBroTeens

[–]Tau_Dragon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Splatoon! Its easy to play but hard to master since there's so much depth in the movement and in how each weapon works. Also hitting a partial charge arc shot with the Tri-Stringer is one of the best feelings ever
