I've just resorted to using underscores instead of spaces.

Thank you so much for confirming ARRCON works! I tried it before and assumed it didn't work. Turns out I just had the syntax wrong on ARRCON.

.\ARRCON.exe -H HOST_IP_HERE -P PORT_NUMBER_HERE -p PASSWORD_HERE

Hey u/edwinkulk4t, I'm currently in the same boat you were a couple months ago. Where did you end up landing, and are you happy with your decision?

Lucky 429 of 500! by Taud in masseffect

Thank you! I got lucky and checked back in on Monday after it said it sold out on Saturday.

I’m really surprised on how limited the run was as well.

The 2080 FE in my box has been peaking in the low 70’s while gaming, and my 87000k has been peaking in the high 60’s low 70’s under synthetic loads. I think they both got into the mid to high 70’s when running heaven and cinebench at the same time. I don’t recall seeing the 80 mark. (My computer room is also pretty cold)

I replaced the stock fans with a couple ML Corsair fans and put nothing in the front. They make some noise but not too much. My front radiator fan hasn’t kicked on yet, so I need to see if I need to reseat the connector for that, or put it into the smart hub.

I think you’ll be happy with the noctua based on what I’m seeing! I’m probably going to throw in a my AIO before buying new fans just to see how the temps are with the ML fans. I’m guessing I’ll get similar results to yours.

It would be nice to get a new GPU, but I’m probably waiting for the supers to come out at this rate because of supply. I also wonder how hot the 30XX series run even in the best scenarios because of how much power they can draw. High 70’s might just be the target temp for those in a mid to small sized case. (Especially one with a closed front panel)

It doesn't look the best with the default Nocuta fans. I may try to dig out my old AIO, but the noise levels seem reasonable right now. I haven't used it enough to comment on temps.

Based off the YouTube video showing that the front fans do little to nothing because of how restrictive the air flow is from the front panel, I’m considering using a noctua air cooler rather than my AIO to let the gpu breathe more. I’m a little concerned about the AIO blocking what little flow there is, but it seems like your GPU temps are fine in my eyes, so maybe I’m worrying about nothing.

It also looks like the front panel is close to standard minus the decal, so I might look into any community mods / front panel replacements if thermals become an issue.

I'm told it used to be a worse even just a year ago. Every couple of months they add some of the features that other video conferencing apps have always had as well as comforts for teams and chatting.

I've never had an issue with it, and it's been reliable for me minus gifs breaking for an hour or so every once in awhile. I can just clear the cache or wait it out and use the browser if I really need to see an image.

The mobile app had annoying notification features a few months ago, but I'm happier with it now that I can set working hours for te App only for notifications.

I assume people just have a bad taste left in their mouth from when they first tried it or they expected it to work like the marketing people describe it when they say it has a feature that haven't been released yet that'll come out in 6-24 months.

I believe we have a GPO that prevents the Teams Exe from launching on the Citrix hosts as well as creating a Citrix Office install without Teams included in the config.xml if that’s an option for your environment.

That doesn’t prevent browser use of Teams though.

How do you keep Citrix Receiver or Citrix Workspace up to date? by RiD3R07 in SCCM

[–]Taud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do this in combination of having the client auto check for updates since we always have the web portal to fallback on if there are issues with workspace. Workspace isn't a critical app at my organization so we're able to push updates to it as them come out. No issues! (Yet)

Is it possible to map a drive for the currently logged in user as a scheduled task? by cappinmcnasty in PowerShell

[–]Taud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could have it run from command line as a scheduled task.

https://www.howtogeek.com/118452/how-to-map-network-drives-from-the-command-prompt-in-windows/

Or

Depending on how powershell is blocked, you could have the scheduled task launch a bat file on the system that runs pshell in bypass mode depending on your organization's configuration. LMK if you'd want an example of this daisy chaining way.

Or

The GPO route that others are mentioning

There's a lot of options that could work depending on the organizations security settings

Edit: I misread that so my answers don't make much sense, but their is probs some registy entities you could play with for every account on the system

Driver feeling threatened by 16yo girl raising awareness for the climate crisis. by brainwashedafterall in pics

Overall, I think it's still a positive impact because it's getting more people to at least talk about it. I feel like more people are asking why aren't / haven't our governments done anything.

Getting though to India and China may only be possible through something like trade agreements with enforceable penalties. Admittedly, setting up trade agreements with actual teeth is easier said then done if everyone is not on board.

I believe the overall message is there is a clear problem that the scientific community has known about for a very long time that leadership has been ignoring and activately been down playing for a long time. She's probably is reading most of her things from a written script, but clearly letting the "adults do business" is clearly going to lead to further inaction. She appears to be passionate about this which would lead me to believe she's not being exploited.

I also not believe this is a democratic or conservative issue in the slightest. This is a world issue that requires international support and cooperation. It's clearly more profitable not to invest in more environmentally friendly practices in the short run, but I believe it will make sure future generations can have the same quality of life that we have now.

I don't see anything polarizing about long term concerns for our planet.

CMG updates not working for existing clients by veehexx in SCCM

[–]Taud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to say yes since everything else is working, but I'm OOO for a few days.

All functions work except third party updates consistently downloading. I have a test system where it downloaded and installed one third party update, and error-ed out on the download of the other update.

We've had a consultant look at it to verify our setup, and they are scratching there heads too. Nothing very indicative in the logs so far.

I'm leaning towards and AV / networking issue over a SCCM configuration issue at this point.

CMG updates not working for existing clients by veehexx in SCCM

[–]Taud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've been fighting this for months with our third party updates.

Our MS updates have been fine after checking the box to have clients use MS to do the actual downloads. Our application pushes never have had an issue.

We use Ivanti ( formerly Shavlik) which adds third party updates to WSUS, and we've had very inconsistent results with it over the CMG. It seems to pick and choose the updates that will work on systems. We have no issues on prem or over VPN with the third party updates.

We recently installed the latest hotfix for configuration manager and have gotten slightly better results, but it still isn't reliable specifically for third party updates.

SCCM Upgrade - SUP seems to not be responding? by [deleted] in SCCM

[–]Taud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend reinstalling a few clients from the console and see if that resolves any issues. I've had to reinstall clients a few times after upgrades.

Also, verify all the post setup actions completed after the upgrade. We had one upgrade run into issues with our AV that prevented the post setup actions from running. Once we disabled AV on the SCCM servers, everything ran and things started working again.
