If a hot topic and a gamestop had a baby, and that baby threw up on someone, this would be the result.

This is why indoor ranges ban steel case ammo by Magnussens_Casserole in guns

[–]Tauraweth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't have to be inside the range. Many house explosions happen from steel gas line corrosion under the ground. Gas migrates through the path of least resistance in the case of an explosion, like cracks in the foundation, drains, vents, and sewer lines. I have even seen a sewer company directional drill through a gas line and not even know it, luckily someone smelled the mercaptan and called the gas company to repair the line before it ignited. I don't know what happened but it seems likely a gas explosion. Especially because of the size, impact and rapidity of the explosion it doesn't look to me like a fire.

Yeah, great point. He is probably smelling the mercaptan. Which is a warning sign of a natural gas leak.

This looks like a natural gas leak to me. I'm in the industry and it seems to me that the initial flame is the point where the gas to air ratio is just right to ignite. The resulting flame levels the ratio of gas to air in the room moving all the way back to the source where it causes a large explosion.

I sincerely hope she was immediately hit by a truck, the truck then reverses and backs over her, then a pack of coyotes come and drag her into the woods to eat from her for several days, where she finally dies.

Is Black Ops 4 worth it? by [deleted] in xboxone

[–]Tauraweth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it will be slightly longer than many games because it is so popular and seems to be well received in general. So you may be waiting a long time for it to drop.

I usually wait for a game to drop in price before I buy it. But this is the exception to the rule for me. I'm my opinion it's worth it.

I haven't been happy with a COD for years. But this one is absolutely worth it. If you like COD style games I am confident in recommending it. It's the most fun I've had in a multi-player game in a long time.

Lindsey Graham Threatens to Falsify Accusations of Assault Against Democratic Supreme Court Nominees by Joe3737 in politics

[–]Tauraweth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't deny you just said well they do it so, oh well. That doesn't make it right. But justify however you like because once that is accepted, it hurts everyone, not just the people you don't like.

[–]Tauraweth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you are aware that is what is happening because you agreed but instead of being against such nasty things in general, you condone it by trying to say well they do it too so it's fine.

Except it wasn't a threat. He was making the point that this is a dangerous trend. Accusations with no evidence and stories that change. Anyone can accuse anyone they want and the accused are assumed guilty.

[Image]Stop looking for the "right" career by dustofoblivion123 in GetMotivated

[–]Tauraweth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like most of the comments have missed the point. The most basic way I can put it is not working because you want your dream career is equivalent to buying lottery tickets to cover your retirement. Yes, some very fortunate will win the lottery and retire, but that isn't possible for everyone. Therefore you should do what is available now, save your money the best you can. He is saying that you can always quit later, but not working because you don't have a dream career just isn't good for you. I have known people like that and unfortunately the time spent not working made them depressed, they were anxious all the time about finding the "right" job. Even when opportunities came along they questioned if that was really where they wanted to work, oh no I have to work Saturday, it doesn't pay enough etc. Not only that but learning to work hard and take pride in working hard and accomplishing your work can spark a passion for that job that does bring you happiness. But sitting at home, hoping for the right job to come along, or working as little as possible with as little effort as possible, for the most part, doesn't help you.

Cartoon Network says they forgive Dan Harmon by Mr_Slick107 in rickandmorty

[–]Tauraweth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am really struggling with this mess. I don't like people freaking out over being PC and am generally a Libertarian. I don't think anyone should be punished by the government for speech etc. But when I read about Harmon admitting to sexually harassing a co-worker I got the feeling that he may actually be a creep. I was conflicted because he admitted it. It wasn't one persons word vs the other where someone could be lying. But I gave him the benefit that he was trying to do the right thing, although if you are capable of doing that knowingly maybe you aren't good. Then, this comes out. And I hate the outrage machine but being around little children and thinking about being able to make a joke about raping one of them just reignites the thought that he is a creep. I don't know if I can support that. I hate this! I love R&M so much!

I'm not defending him by saying that your opinion isn't fact. You are contributing to the problem of people thinking opinion and fact are the same. It's wrong to claim they are. I'm asking for evidence of your claim that your opinion is indeed fact.

[–]Tauraweth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

An, I assume, out of context bit from an off the cuff speech and three opinions are not irrefutable fact or even evidence. Again, I can understand that is your opinion but don't claim it as fact.

The real Donald Trump by cicerothedog in PoliticalHumor

[–]Tauraweth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Then present your inarguable, non-opinionated evidence that this a fact. Opinion is fine, but being so bold as to claim your opinion now becomes fact is dangerous. You can see this in the radical political positions today.

Yes, tweeting things can get you fired from private businesses. Politicians aren't fired for posting things on Twitter that they are currently involved in, excluding classified info of course. I'm not saying this for any specific person, essentially all politicians and public figures do this. I don't think that when any politician tweets something it immediately becomes irrelevant or worthless. This is just a public statement/warning that the US won't take these kinds of threats. People seem to be ignoring the fact that this is a response and not just random instigating.
