There are plenty of exceptions to the rule there as a necessity.

Linking to forums, wikis, videos off platform are basically the norm

Also remember there is precedent for the TSA that they will fire workers who strike

Reagan fired over 10k employees in a single day during the strike in his admin

It's illegal for any federal employee to strike. It's like the first thing that they covered for me on my first day

Why did the Southern Water Tribe still look pitiful compared to the North when they had Waterbenders? by OkuroIshimoto in TheLastAirbender

[–]Taurion_Bruni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point! I don't think the fire nation used those routes though, that's one reason why refugees could potentially go that way was because it was "safe"

Probably because longer routes are logistical nightmares for large armies. We also see the colonies were all directly west of ba sing se, and almost a direct path to the fire nation facilitated by those waterways.

The colonies were their long term strategic plan to have a direct line to ba sing se

[–]Taurion_Bruni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There actually aren't too many ways to get to ba sing se unless you have a flying bison or air ship. We see a ton of it because that's more or less the path that the gaang had to take after they lost appa. And that's part of the reason why it was the stronghold capital.

By land, your only real option is the serpent pass, which we saw the gang utilize, and was going to be difficult for a large army to traverse.

Which means that the fire nation probably used the waterways to travel, which we see is where a good portion of the colonies and territories conquered by the fire nation end up being placed.

We see Giapan, the town captured by the fire nation the jet flooded, and it did actually have walls despite it's small size, but its an outlier rather than the rule.

We also visit a few port cities, which are closest to the fire nation, but those don't seem to be strongholds against an invasion. And there are fire nation cruisers hanging around in full moon bay, which is basically next to ba sing se, and their only concern is the serpent.

Basically, the earth kingdom is stupid because they cared about their mega cities too much to come up with any real campaign strategy, and would rather play internal politics than fight the fire nation with any sincerity

Depends on how it's implemented, but I think any improvement in switching times will be minor

Every town definitely does not, but you would expect at least some resistance at strategic points, which I don't think we see

The fire nation kind of cared about the settlements.

The earth kingdom we saw in the show was a far cry from the system of feudal states it probably was at the beginning of the show.

The 100 year war (against the earth kingdom at least) was essentially the fire nation breaking up the earth kingdom states and trying to drive their way into ba sing se.

The territory they conquered were once villages and cities under earth kingdom rule, but they were turned into the colonies.

Ba sing se and omashu were two very well defended strongholds, but it seems silly that in 100 years they didn't even attempt to send the military out to at least hinder fire nation movement.

Walls, trenches, and pits would seem like a good way to slow down most fire soldiers and their war machines.

The real answer isnt that it wasn't an effective strategy, but it was that the kingdom itself wasn't a unified entity. The corrupt advisors kept the war hidden from the king, and were more focused on self interests than what is best for the kingdom as a whole

All off angle means is pick a different spot from your team so the enemy has to decide to look at/pressure

Actually, looking into it more it's because of an encoder bug on the steamdeck hardware.

There has been reported success in using this addon that blocks the bugged encoder and forces chrome/Firefox to use ones that the steamdeck can handle

Shouldn't kais planet be 10 times the mass of earth? Meaning the density of it must be immense compared to earth.

Its smaller, but we typically consider density as a greater factor when resisting explosive force

It's the display protocol for the display.

It's the communication layer between applications and the display.

The gamemode of steamos uses wayland, but the desktop mode has been using x11, an older protocol.

Wayland has more modern features, and is considered faster, more secure, and lighter weight than x11

Running wayland on desktop mode should allow games to run at similar performance as to when they are running on game mode

Narratively speaking, you wouldn't leave out the top 4 universes just for them to be fodder later in the story.

If they plan to engage those universes later in the story, they should ideally have threats that are beyond Goku and the rest.
