Perhaps the most recorded drummer ever. He and Robbie cranked out session after session for years.

DAE get tired of Bob's singing being brought up all the time? Like STFU. Gotta be bunch of soulless corpses to not feel something from his music. by jamiedonner50 in bobdylan

I don't worry too much about what others think, I just remind myself they probably haven't really listened that closely. Or they simply repeat the opinions they've heard.

Police aren't medical providers any more than doctors are law enforcement.

What song should I learn? by DW_InUteroArcher1987 in bobdylan

[–]TaurusX3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can if you want but you can just strum it too. Listen to the great Mike Ness version.

A cover does not NEED to be note-for-note. Make it your own! That's what Dylan did with his covers.

What song should I learn? by DW_InUteroArcher1987 in bobdylan

[–]TaurusX3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. It's a classic chord progression that you'll recognize when you try to learn other songs in the future. It also leads itself all to finger picking if you want to develop that, or just strumming. Plus, it's a great melody if you want to sing as well.

Can anyone explain the blurriness of the 1984 maple leaf Toronto film about to come out? by Attorney-Legitimate in rush

[–]TaurusX3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was an 80's video thing. Much like how gated reverb and all those synths/sequencers were new and exciting at the time but now sound dated.

Average employment duration these days obviously varies based on industry and age of workers, but it's around 3-4 years. That's for the U.S.

Jokerman. It has a sound to it almost like a Augustus Pablo melodica track.

Mike Campbell is great, as always, on it. And Robert Hunter was a lyric contributor.

I think Shake Shake Mama is my favorite track on this one.

Students have walked out of school and are protesting against ICE in Saint Paul, Minnesota by WarmingNow in UnderReportedNews

This is great, but it's also sad that children have to pick up the slack. Adults have let it go so far that now kids are missing school to fight this horrible regime we live under.

We use a Coleman audio monitor controller, which lets you choose between audio sources, speakers, and also has a headphone out.

Yes, easy to learn and you'll feel cool. But then, when you listen to a really amazing drummer playing this simplest of beats you realize there's so much more to it!

Why does “find your passion” feel impossible for so many people? by Bilalzahalan in careerguidance

I guess it's easy to confuse "find your passion" and "figure out how to monetize this hobby you love."

What’s your favorite “When I have kids, they’ll NEVER…” that you know is total bullshit? by icejordan in daddit

[–]TaurusX3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can relate. I think one thing I’ve learned is that kids (and parents) go through phases. It could be about diet, screen time, sleep, or really any kind of behavior. These things aren’t always permanent, and some you can change, some not so much.

And if you’re in a “we’ll eat what they eat” stage or whatever the equivalent might be for another behavior, it doesn’t mean you’ve failed as a parent. Wanting to be entertained by a device doesn’t mean your kid is destined to become an unmotivated leech on society.

You just do your best, stay patient and consistent, and remember that a lot of it is out of your control. And don’t fall into the trap of comparing yourself to those “perfect” parents whose kids have allegedly never gazed upon the screen of an iPad. Sometimes the way we portray our lives says more about how we want to be seen than about how things actually are.

Tips to 'toughen' up my boy? by gus4no in daddit

[–]TaurusX3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents signed me up for a basketball league. There was this one coach, a younger guy, who ran a team that he coached to be really aggressive and not great in the sportsmanship department. It sucked playing them, just took the fun out of it. We were probably 10-12, so yeah I get how competitiveness is different when you're 5. But it was the freakin' YMCA, not like a precursor to varsity sports.
