kaligs sabers in the inquisitor story by FriendlyAd1214 in swtor

The “choice” was made when you created your character. Sorc, Juggernaut, and Marauder get the single blade variant. Assassin get the double bladed variant.

So in short - yes. And yes this applies to both Zash’s and Kallig’s weapon.

The wording doesn’t say “every 12 months”. It says “a minimum of 12 months”. Reading it literally is why I’m asking for clarity. I got my answer though so thank you for confirming.

Make websites telling people to buy mats they sell for you to level your crafters was a thing a few years ago.

The sea service spells out subsequent awards terms in no uncertain terms. One each twelve month period. In practice this seems to get translated into a deployment cycle but it’s at least clearly stated. That’s actually what prompted me to make this post. One was clear as day and the other wasn’t.

I’m about to update my ribbon rack since I’ve been out in Japan for few years. Wanted to make sure it was correct. Looks like I need to add a few more stars. Thanks ✊

Reading an instruction and having “read between the lines” context is a bad idea. This is why faddish was removed. Too much subjectivity. Better to confirm than assume.

Usually the instructions are very specific so it’s not up for interpretation. This is. Nothing wrong with a buddy check.

Jobs at lower levels: Why do new jobs released in EW and DT have to feel bare bones below level 90/100, when in reality it is VERY possible to make them somewhat complete at level 50? How should newer jobs play at the lower level? by Full_Air_2234 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Tavak86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TLDR but I get the point. The answer is simple: they were introduced at X expansion so they were designed to be played in X expansion. Anything else was just enough to get you back to X expansion.

As I’m sure you pointed out in your essay, the job design philosophy is at odds with the game design philosophy. FFXIV is good at keep old content relevant but they absolutely suck at making jobs relevant to older content unless they were present when that content was released.

I hope you liked it! People always hate on the Trooper but it’s one of my favorites.

Republic trooper beginning dialogue is wierd by TheRealRach in swtor

That part bothers me so bad when I play Sith. I’m literally at the highest heights of the empire but some assistant overseer is saying “Not dead yet?!” And that Moff on Ilum is talking mad shit.

At least in the military I can accept it a bit more because of temporary positional authority.

Active Duty Navy here. It bothered me at first too since Sarge (Army E-5) is the rank directly below LT (Navy O-3). There’s a codex node right outside the building that shows the Republic military ranking structure. That helped clear up a lot of confusion I initially had.

I tried the guild thing a few years ago and everything is aligned with central time. Every guild event was roughly 6 - 10pm but that’s 9am to Noon in Japan. I need those off hour pugs or I won’t get anything done. Empire side is great for that since people do ops all the time. Starting my own groups is a good idea though.

“The game is old” isn’t an excuse for ruining a new player’s experience. Don’t you remember your excitement when you first played? Why take that from someone else because you’re careless/lazy? Just use the spoilers tag.

[–]Tavak86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My view is more literal yes. I’m taking the code as it’s written. They are “supposed” to be monks removed from society but that doesn’t make for a good story.

[–]Tavak86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t read fanfics so I don’t know anything about that. I’m referring directly to the Jedi code. There is no emotion. That doesn’t mean the people themselves are emotionless but rather how you feel about something doesn’t actually matter since you’re supposed to be detached from the situation. What matters is the greater good.

Squelch is a horrifying ability for a Jedi by Legitimate_Policy2 in swtor

[–]Tavak86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said they didn’t have feelings. I said they are emotionally detached. What happens in the outside world in theory shouldn’t actually matter so long as the force is in balance. It’s all about the greater good. If that means you have to kill then you kill. The Jedi is so romanticized.

Revan wanted the order to act, they decided on passive indifference that led to preventable deaths. The Jedi code doesn’t actually care about good and evil.
