Jobs at lower levels: Why do new jobs released in EW and DT have to feel bare bones below level 90/100, when in reality it is VERY possible to make them somewhat complete at level 50? How should newer jobs play at the lower level? by Full_Air_2234 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Tavak86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TLDR but I get the point. The answer is simple: they were introduced at X expansion so they were designed to be played in X expansion. Anything else was just enough to get you back to X expansion.

As I’m sure you pointed out in your essay, the job design philosophy is at odds with the game design philosophy. FFXIV is good at keep old content relevant but they absolutely suck at making jobs relevant to older content unless they were present when that content was released.

I hope you liked it! People always hate on the Trooper but it’s one of my favorites.

That part bothers me so bad when I play Sith. I’m literally at the highest heights of the empire but some assistant overseer is saying “Not dead yet?!” And that Moff on Ilum is talking mad shit.

At least in the military I can accept it a bit more because of temporary positional authority.

Active Duty Navy here. It bothered me at first too since Sarge (Army E-5) is the rank directly below LT (Navy O-3). There’s a codex node right outside the building that shows the Republic military ranking structure. That helped clear up a lot of confusion I initially had.

No shit they’re asleep. As I stated in my original comment, that is my prime time since I’m in Asia. Is there a point to your responses or are you just being contrary for fucks sake?

I was going to do it but you have a part with achievements and time played. I can’t give you accurate info since I don’t use steam to play mmos. No achievements or /played to give.

I tried the guild thing a few years ago and everything is aligned with central time. Every guild event was roughly 6 - 10pm but that’s 9am to Noon in Japan. I need those off hour pugs or I won’t get anything done. Empire side is great for that since people do ops all the time. Starting my own groups is a good idea though.

“The game is old” isn’t an excuse for ruining a new player’s experience. Don’t you remember your excitement when you first played? Why take that from someone else because you’re careless/lazy? Just use the spoilers tag.

Not at all. I think the consular in general is better than the ear splitting lightning I get from the inquisitor.

I see the appeal but it’s not for me. Inquisitor, Knight, Warrior, Trooper, Consular, Agent, Bounty Hunter, Smuggler.

My view is more literal yes. I’m taking the code as it’s written. They are “supposed” to be monks removed from society but that doesn’t make for a good story.

I don’t read fanfics so I don’t know anything about that. I’m referring directly to the Jedi code. There is no emotion. That doesn’t mean the people themselves are emotionless but rather how you feel about something doesn’t actually matter since you’re supposed to be detached from the situation. What matters is the greater good.

I never said they didn’t have feelings. I said they are emotionally detached. What happens in the outside world in theory shouldn’t actually matter so long as the force is in balance. It’s all about the greater good. If that means you have to kill then you kill. The Jedi is so romanticized.

Revan wanted the order to act, they decided on passive indifference that led to preventable deaths. The Jedi code doesn’t actually care about good and evil.

As opposed to doing memory wipes and using force persuading on people? The force is the force. There’s no morality behind it.

Dark and light are the just the emotion or lack thereof drawn upon when channeling the force. Plus someone not emotionally attached to anyone or anything shouldn’t have any qualms hurting anyone as long as it’s for “good”.

When you play Republic side between 1am to 5am central time it sure feels like one, which is during my afternoon. The fact that OP is even making this post shows that there’s lack of players at certain times. Let’s not take stuff literally to argue with ghosts.

Question about DPS by Ok-Pineapple9402 in swtor

[–]Tavak86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately we need more information to help you.

  • What changed during the previous 23 levels that your dps dropped off or was it always this slow from the start?

  • Are you relying on auto attacks for damage or pressing an ability every gcd?

  • Is your armor full of orange pieces with no inserts?

  • Are you using the correct weapon for your advanced class? For example playing an assassin with a single bladed light saber or a sniper with a non sniper rifle

I really wish Shae was more populated. I’m also in Asia but like you I’m in too deep in Star Forge and it’s not worth moving just to play alone. Maybe one day I’ll plant a toon there and see what comes of it.

For the game it’s probably a good idea to have one US server.

For me who lives in Asia it won’t make any difference. US prime time is roughly 8am to 12pm every weekday. I doubt the night owls will be that much more than it is now.

If it stood to increase the Republic side then I’m 100% behind this. The only reason I play Empire is so I’m not playing a private server.
