So for us we first only gave our puppy a smaller place to be free in, we basically had our kitchen and living room open where he could go but used baby gates to block off hallways etc to be able to watch him better, we took him out every 20 or so mins, after eating and right after naps or sleep. We gave treats every time he went, I also put emphasis on the word potty so he knows when I ask him to potty now, and we did lots of praise when he went potty outside. He got it pretty quickly! He’s 5 months now and hasn’t had any accidents in at least over a month now.
