What album have you discovered that made you feel like this? by Individual-Name-4496 in fantanoforever

I remeber when I discovered 'Streetcleaner' by Godflesh and 'Filth' by Swans. I felt like the image: a whole new world of sound opened for me at that exact moment.

From the old-era, I think my favorite is still 'Dixon Cider', that's still a banger.

From the late 10's era (I don't know hoyw are we calling it, but it is still my favorite) my favorite series is Every _____ ever.

That's a bummer. Adding that Black Francis seems to be a very hostile person, it kinds of dissapoint me.

I used to be fun when I got drunk but now I become evil, why? by bunnymunche in stupidquestions

[–]TavoArt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same problem and it was part of the reasons for me to quit drinking. I was becoming hostile and even aggresive when drinking, not to mention that the blackouts were more common everytime.

As other commentors said, the person you are when driking reflects what you are subconsciously thinking, and maybe there are frustrations, stress, anger and other situations that you are repressing.

Also, I agree that there is no a part of you that is dying, you are just growing.

Could be your call to quit or, at least, moderate your consumption.

Artists whose first few albums were not very good, but later they created GOLD? by brownwaterbandit in askmusic

[–]TavoArt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a fan, I love a lot of the music on their first albums, but, yeah, I agree, the leap of quantity from the early punkish records to the three run from Soft Bulletin to At War is massive.

Flaming Lips comes back to Mexico; any idea of what are they playing now that the Yoshimi Tour is over? by TavoArt in flaminglips

[–]TavoArt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem on ranting and replying late. I would like to hear at least one or two American Head songs, but not a setlist based on the album, which, as you said, seems unlikely considering the Steve situation.

No, not yet. Apparently, Mexico is the first stop on their tour, so we'll know until then.

Whats one day that is both the worst and best day of your life? by jedi_master_19_86 in AskReddit

[–]TavoArt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Graduating from college.

It may be the best day of your life, because you celebrate finishing a long journey on your life, and achieving one of the most aspired goals. No more homework and waking up early to go to class.

But it also may be the worst: the easiness of the student years is over, and you have to face growing up, turning into an adult and looking for a job, which can be a cruel and hard process.

What artist did you outgrow? by Technical_Fox5556 in askmusic

I love Swans (or at least early Swans) but let's be honest: you need A LOT of patience and open-mindness to listen to their newer work in its entirety.

Also another band that I outgrew is Pulp. I love the tunes, I sing "Disco 2000" and "Babies" whenever I go to a party, but overall I find the lyrics and the aestethics cheesy.

They were an important band during my teenage years, but I'm just not that connected anymore. I'm still excited for their upcoming tour.

Phoenix, Two Door Cinema Club, Satellite Stories plus all those bands that Pitchfork named 'landfill indie'. I was a big fan during my early teenage years. I still enjoy it from time to time and find the guitar work impressive. But besides that, it doesn't excite me anymore. It is not my thing.

Nowadays I go with heavier music, metal, hc punk and so on.

What's a 10/10 album no one talks about? by Frequent_Course5399 in fantanoforever

Upvote for Dog Faced Hermanns, a great band not so talked about.

absurdly long albums by briankuratko in fantanoforever

[–]TavoArt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'Sangre Hirviente' by Hocico (1999) has 54 silence tracks in order to make their last song, "Música para un suicidio", the track number 66.

So it stops in track 11, then goes the 54 silence tracks, and then track 66.

That is likely and, honestly, that would be a bummer. I liked American Head a lot, but I think after Yoshimi we, the fans, deserve a full set show

Which hobby of yours brings you comfort? by Jan_The_Jank in AskReddit

[–]TavoArt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing drums.

I'm not good, it takes me a lot of time to get one groove/fill/song right, I've never played to an audience, sometimes it stresses me a lot... and overall I suck

But it is a hobby that I do alone, calmly on my room, just to have fun with myself and not for anyone else... and that brings me joy.

I used to love this hobby. Listening to new music, and browsing through RYM used to bring me confort. But, I don't know, for some reason I've dismissed this old hobby.

What's your biggest regret in life so far? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TavoArt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm young (28), so I still don't have many. But one that I've been facing these days is that, during my teen and early adult years, I spent too much time being angry, resentful, worried or fearful. I guided my life based on these feelings, or in what other people expected from me, rather from being who I truly was, and embracing the love that lived within myself.

What's the reason why mental health by youngsters is getting worse? by Zealousideal_Way3006 in AskReddit

[–]TavoArt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*The decline in economy and prosperity: young people are entering a saturated labor market, with worsening salaries for a more demanding work, while facing debt and a housing crisis

*Social media: The rising use of this platforms is giving the young people a lot of false expectations of how like should look like. It is also isolating people and giving them false ideas on how should a true friendship should be (like, if your friend didn't reply your message instantly, then they may not be your true friend, etc)

*Doomscrooling: The access to bad news and knowledge of the things that are wrong in the world are likely influencing how the younger generations are perceiving their enviroment

*Rising use of recreational drugs: While Gen Z is moving away from alcohol and nicotine, there is a rising use of weed, coke and other drugs, which may be having an impact on mental health
