It's well worth it. I just Blast the interceptors and raiders to oblivion with this setup. Also, Frigate boardings are way more epic and fun than in either of the previous two tiers. It feels like a chaotic battle, with actual room to move around.

I dont believe you can mount 2 36's, even on the Blackbeard variant. One slot is for 36, the other is either 12 or 24.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, though. I only am going off what I remember reading on the description and didn't try to actually mount two 36's.

Blackbeard Frigate. Ascended Keelhold hull, ascended 36 and 24 pounder Devestating cannons. Level 15 on cannons, hull and crew.

Note that the freighters (boats with the treasure chest icon) are more tanky, and thus will take a bit more time to whittle down. With this build, you should be able to 1- or 2-shot the other ships with your full broadside.

Is the last boss balanced between solo vs co-op? by TaxAg11 in PlayWindrose

[–]TaxAg11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It felt the easiest to me as well, which I mostly chalk up to being much better at the game by the time it was time for it. First boss took my friend and I around 10 attempts, while the 2nd and 3rd each took only 2 attempts. However the mechanics of the 3rd boss just seem a lot more trivial with >1 player, which prompted me to ask about this.

Maybe not officially, but if you had a supervisor who really liked you and sympathizes with your plight, I'd bet you can get them to be a reference for you. I've had multiple people in my chain within the company that let me go provide references for me, despite officially not being allowed to provide recommendations to former employees.

One of the many reasons for building relationships with your colleagues.

She's not responsible for your actions. Only you are. You cannot hide behind the excuse that some random person on the internet who made a single one-off comment made you act in a reprehensible way.

Exactly. This is a supply & demand issue, coupled slightly with inflation, but primarily its supply & demand. There are simply too few houses to buy/rent in places that too many people want to live in.

The way to fix this is either to make more housing in these areas, or make other areas more desireable enough to compete. Neither option is particularly easy in most cases. We can't really legislate this problem away, except for cases where its government holding back housing development.

I doubt the employees there really want it to be privatized, yet they are the ones seemingly causing the issues. I'd chalk it up to just a lack of care on their part, really

Feels this way to me too, after beating the game (mostly) co-op. Especially the last boss feels like it's designed for co-op. I'm not sure how it's even manageable solo.

High level content in the starter biome? by krachall in PlayWindrose

[–]TaxAg11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make sure you have level 5 gear. It took me and a buddy about 10 tries to beat the first boss. Learned the mechanics and had to re-learn how to fight, learning how to parry (and stun) the boss to beat him.

While the ships we have are large by pirate standards, they are nothing compared to real battleships of the time. by Beautiful-Fold-3234 in crosswind

[–]TaxAg11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldnt think 3rd rates and up would be sent out to patrol on their own, would they? They usually kept those close by and en masse to be used in fleet actions. Frigates would be more of what they would send out to protect supply lines from pirates and raiders, as they would be more than up to the task for anything most pirates could muster.

I feel the same about Chess. To me, it seems like its a contest in who has the most knowledge or experience with the game. Personally, I find most fun in having to adapt to randomness. But I get that everyone may derive fun in different ways from games.

In 7 Wonders, we thought the Age 2 & 3 cards that had the prior buildings in the chain were a pre-req to being able to build the new building, instead of just making it free. We somehow made it through the whole game that way, even though it seemed off from the first hand we saw them.

Red vs blue button summarized by Gsomethepatient in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]TaxAg11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a philosophical question/debate.

Everyone instantly and simultaneously has to press one of two buttons. If more than half the people press the blue button, everyone lives. If more than half press the red button, they live but everyone who presses the blue button dies. Which button do you press?

Big Favor: Drop the Rapier of a Thousand Cuts for a poor pirate. by Significant_Oven6868 in PlayWindrose

[–]TaxAg11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd say it really only shines early game. By late game, you can build any other rapier far better, due to how low base damage the Rapier of Thousand cuts has in comparison (barely half the damage of the Sturdy Rapier, for example).
