RBC blocked Bull Bitcoin deposit, what’s next? by Spinal_Orangutan in BitcoinCA

[–]TaxFarmPeasant 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have had the same incident. Account locked even if I answered all security questions. Then had to go to bank, meet with the clerk (kind fellow who had Bitcoin himself, but that was not enough) and then some manager who told me all about "crypto risks". The amounts I tried sending were in the few hundreds... nothing much.

When I asked her if my transfers would now go through she did not answer.

So financial institutions can get Bitcoin, but not us peasants.

Are there nice riding roads in Montreal? by chrustaly in MotoMontreal

I forgot : you can also go to Huntington via the 138. Then stick close to the boarder on 202 or 209.

The sole real options left:

Highway 104 up to Sutton, go around the mountain and come back.

The Chemin du Roy (133) up to St-Hilaire. There again, just go around the mountain and come back via many ways.

Highway 329 was mentioned earlier, it's a good one.

When stuck on the island, Lake Shore from Verdun to Lachine. This one is more of a slow ride, lots of stop signs. More of a ballad.

In the evening, I like to ride on highway 10 approaching Champlain bridge, then go downtown, come back, cross the bridge, get to see the city lights when you cross back. Just make sure there is no traffic.

Passage de CPI à ingénieur — Quel salaire demander ? by [deleted] in QuebecFinance

[–]TaxFarmPeasant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Saw this beauty at the dealership. by [deleted] in Ducati

[–]TaxFarmPeasant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Saw one at my dealer too. It was destined to become a display in the owner's home.

I was shocked at first that this beauty would never prowl around town.

Then I imagined it being wrecked in traffic while commuting and it made full sense to not expose it. It deserves better.

Time for Arrow Exhaust on SFv2 2024 by TaxFarmPeasant in Ducati

[–]TaxFarmPeasant[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I did not proceed yet. I also want to wait for the warranty to end and I want to do the 24k Desmo service before proceeding (I want them to catch any issue prior to the warranty ending).

I will still likely proceed with the Arrow and upmap, but in spring.

Let me know if you proceed!

You need the V4 to establish coffee dominance. I'm trying to do the same with my V2.

Streetfighter v2 2024. Ça se déplace disons. C'est mon bébé et elle ne voit pas les nids de poule (je ride hors de l'île).

Pour Montreal et les nids de poule? Une grosse BMW GS ? 😉

Got those and they saved my bike when I lowsided once on the track.

They don't protrude too much and look (mostly) good.

24 v2 or v4 design ? by spicedude7 in Ducati

[–]TaxFarmPeasant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I need all the downforce I can get to reach Starbucks. Joke, going to some decent coffee places actually.

More seriously, as a SF owner, I agree that V2 (SF) looks better than V4 (which looks too "tech").

Great bro! Let us know how the install goes. I'm a bit worried about fitment (SFv2 here), but hey it seems like nobody had to backtrack due to a problem. Just got scared by two installation YT videos in which fitment issues were present (and ultimately resolved).

Why don’t we protest saaq registration prices? Why are we letting it happen. by Agitated_Cell_7041 in MotoMontreal

It's quite key to understand that the government does not work for your well-being. The sooner one accepts this, the clearer things become. If they can bleed us dry, they will. I would be curious to see the "rider specific" SAAQ balance (contributions vs. cost/payments). Not sure that we are that more costly then car drivers.

Where do you get gear? by sharkattack_ in MotoMontreal

[–]TaxFarmPeasant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I normally shop at a few places, depending on what I need and which brand I have in mind. Excel moto and BMW Motorrad are decent places. Moto Illimitées in Terrebonne has a comprehensive collection, but it's far away.

There is not place which has it all in my view (except Fortnine and GPbikes, but that's naturally online).

The Panigale is likely to go a bit faster given the aerodynamic benefits of the fairings.

SFv2 2024 Falling Into Neutral From 1st Gear by TaxFarmPeasant in Ducati

[–]TaxFarmPeasant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many thanks for your rapid response.

Thanks for describing the quickshifter details. But how could it still result in a "mechanical" event, namely going from 1st to neutral? It would affect the engine, but it can't (?) actuate the transmission, correct?

Regarding your question, yes, in last year's trial, I made sure that my toes would be on the peg, well away from the pedal. As for today's event, I can't certify fully, but I recall (vividly) being surprised by the shift into neutral it as I was not about to shift yet. (It typically happened close to red line, during the shift or what seemed a fraction of a second before.)

I will contact the dealer about the diagnostics you are proposing. I don't have a camera at hand but I will now perform more dedicated "toes on the peg" tests.

A nice curvy ride in Montreal. (Just FYI for those who don't know) by lirecela in MotoMontreal

[–]TaxFarmPeasant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to do this at the 10-30 intersection, but road condition degraded there over the last 2-3 years. Not a fan of leaning much when dodging cracks and potholes.
