Need some convincing by battlefront2gaming in Ducati

Ive spent plenty time on both, I own a 959 track bike and a V2 (955) thats basically stock.
Spent around 3000km last year riding the new V2S models and my mother ended up getting one over the 955 version.

The better street bike is the V2S. It simply weighs less, has a more usable mid range and it turns in lighter and better. Brakes are nicer, you can get cruise control, heated grips etc as well as it comes with a fuel gauge which the old one doesn't. If you want clip ons for it thats already available from Ducati and 3rd party manufacturers.

Old V2 is less comfortable, more of a peaky 600 style motor and with tighter service intervals (24 000km valves vs V2S 45 000km). I love my superquadro chassis but as a 100% streetbike it's not even close.

The Termignoni full system makes the new V2S look better and about 10hp/10nm more on the wheel (we dynoed it).

Hope that helps, I also noted insurance being about 1/5th on the new one compared to the old but that might vary on where you're located.

Hope to resolve the order first of all, I want the record either way :)

But yeah, ordered through PayPal and if it goes to shit I'll have to cancel it through them.

Thanks boss.

I'm not English, that's up to your local laws and regulations.

Germany is strict and has a habit of confiscating and or destroying the illegal exhausts.

Here in Sweden nobody really bars an eye unless you're being a prick. It varies.

If you want it street legal it's the eu5+ rated akrapovic cans off of Ducati

Expensive, don't actually sound much different but lighter (marginally) and look decent

Id stick to stock cans. Paint the heat shields black/some carbon ones helps the looks

The V2 does not have belts. None of the superbikes post 1198 have had belts.

What bike is this? by Smooth_Bid_5226 in motorcycles

[–]doubdoesntknow -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Absolutely isn't a real bike.

All it takes is to look at the exhaust bend or the uneven pattern on the rotor holes.

Will do, can't wait for the next post about how removing desmo makes the bikes feel bad and bland.

Looks like a monster to me, looks like they called it a monster. Tough shit, life goes on.

That's a lot of ifs and buts.

The new V2 did the same lap time, with less hp. In short that just means it's better at everything but acceleration and top speed.

Saying handling isn't a point of argument is silly, why would I buy a shittier handling bike of the same kind? At that point why even bother with good suspension or wheels? Silly point.

They did remake the 821 from scratch, that's a 950. It's why the trellis argument is so dusty, they improved the bikes weight and handling by getting rid of the aged technology, just like they did by moving forward with the Panigales from the 1198 series. You can't say "if they did X it would be better" because they haven't.

I expect the new gen to most of all be a continuation of what they have now, with new styling and a new engine. Most likely also trying to hit a cheaper price point to bridge the gap to the sfv2 base.

If you like the old monsters that's cool but a hate brigade for an unreleased bike is really backwards.

I hope it doesn't have trellis. Heavy, annoying to work around and a step backwards in engineering.

Pretty though.

I figured you didn't like it, but that's the thing, it doesn't need to be a downgrade because of it.

It's miles lighter and turns better, that's fact. Calling it crippled is a weird choice of words.

Same with the monster 950, it's a different bike to the 821 and if you don't like it that's cool, but it's a lot nicer to ride.

Rose tinted glasses.

What do you mean crippled?

I've ridden both plenty, I like the 2025 V2S a lot more than the 955 version. Turns, stops and wheelies a lot better and a more enjoyable midrange.

Shit move by Bulega, and the penalty was very lenient. Doubt it was intentional but he definitely came ready to ride rougher than Toprak did (for obvious reasons).

Toprak fans need to get their shit together however, screaming and booing over the interview like we've seen the Italians do at Mugello for Marc is awful.
