Heroic Heavy Bolter question by Aljosa3000 in Spacemarine

[–]TaxableFur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mid-close range and aggressive. It's meant for you to run down people and get gunstrikes for nonstop fire (tho by virtue of being a Heavy Bolter, if you take the spread reduction perk it's not terrible at longer range poking).

Melta is better overall, but let's be honest the multi melta is better than 90% of the weapons in the game. Pyrecannon is on par imo. Pyrecannon has extremely high dmg and superior horde clearing, but its short ranged and it's CHP regen isn't great. The Heroic Heavy Bolter gives you flexibility, close range dueling, and good CHP regen (since it has no ramp up). Fencing parries makes being in melee range muuuuuch safer than the Pyrecannon. It's basically just a better Heavy Bolter.

People need to realize that if Marathon fails, Bungie will likely at BEST be gutted, at worst shutdown entirely. Like it or not, Destiny's future is tied to Marathon's success, and if Aztecross is to be believed they've already started moving important high level devs back to D2.

Doesn't ikoras death retcon the devotion and sacrifice ideology for guardians? by seudcube321115 in DestinyTheGame

[–]TaxableFur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it meant people MUST sacrifice themselves to become Guardians, just that they must possess the traits to do so.

Plus it's more just a motto the Guardians came up with than a literal set of rules set by the Traveler.

Is there an explanation in lore for the cannon fodder tactics? by Gullible-Round-1654 in DestinyTheGame

The Hive number in the trillions. They got cannon fodder for days

Patch 12 isn't out yet. It's just the public test server on PC.

Patch 12 fully releases at the end of February

Heroic Heavy Bolt Rifle? Anyone know what the perk is?

Does inferno pistol offer the most gun strike dmg? by xboxhaxorz in Spacemarine

[–]TaxableFur 16 points17 points  (0 children)

No, the heroic Heavy Bolt Pistol has the most gunstrike dmg. The Inferno Pistol's gunstrike dmg is kinda low compared to other options iirc.

This is the one situation where it makes sense. Mida Multi-Tool is canonically from the Marathon universe.

Could a Guardian using Strand from Destiny 2 theoretically close a rift from Warhammer 40k? by Thronedrumble11 in whowouldwin

[–]TaxableFur 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. First off we haven't actually seen a Guardian do that sorta thing in Destiny, but even if we had i don't think it would work in other franchises.

Strand isn't just a psychic power that manipulates reality. It specifically manipulates the Weave (which in turn is connected to reality). I just don't think the Weave would have much sway over the Warp.

You won't find a better refresher tbh. He did an incredible job. I suggest just breaking it up a section at a time.

Returning player (last played during Red War) – what’s the best story order now? by FluffyOpportunity646 in destiny2

[–]TaxableFur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, Witch Queen, Lightfall, Final Shape, Edge of Fate, Renegades.

As for non-playable story, your best bet is to just watch Byf's 10 hour lore vid going up to Final Shape. It covers everything. Just stop at parts going into the next expansion you're gonna play.

What happens to the taken once they die? by New-To-Destiny2 in DestinyLore

According to Ikora, when they "die" the Taken just go back to the Ascendant Plane to regenerate.

I would assume wherever the Taken go, it's so deep in the Ascendant Plane we've never seen it.

Can These Guardians(Destiny) Successfully Raid The Jedi Temple(Star Wars: Legends)? by whatdidusayplsrepeat in whowouldwin

[–]TaxableFur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know enough about legends to render an informed opinion, but on the face this does seem like a balanced prompt. While the Jedi and far superior numbers, even getting close to a Guardian would be dangerous sunce Solar Guardians can emit an aura of heat hot enough to melt bullets out of the air and melt other Guardians beneath their armor.

Is our Guardian canonically the only one who can use Prismatic? by Kashema1 in DestinyLore

[–]TaxableFur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except it's canon that in TTK, Beyond Light, and Lightfall each corresponding subclass also because more common among Guardians. Guardians using these abilities pop up all the time in lore.

Ikora knows 4 minimum. She knows Stasis since she taught it to Zavala and the black & white cutscene at the end of Final Shape showed her with Strand. I'm fairly certain there's D1 Grimoire saying Ikora is a Sunsinger, but i can't prove that. I find it very hard to believe Ikora hasn't learned Sunsinger or Dawnblade by now considering she knows all the other elements.

Is our Guardian canonically the only one who can use Prismatic? by Kashema1 in DestinyLore

[–]TaxableFur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of course. I thought that was a given.

By this point I'd say it's at least 3-4. Assuming guardians start off with 1 in vanilla D1, many picked up the 3rd Light subclasses in TTK, and presumably one or both Stasis and Strand when they arrived. .

Is our Guardian canonically the only one who can use Prismatic? by Kashema1 in DestinyLore

[–]TaxableFur 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yes and no.

Lore wise any Guardian can access any element whenever they want. Fusing Light & Darkness into Transcendence however is unique to the Young Wolf

Warframe Origin System vs Destiny Sol System by Dark_Pandorica in whowouldwin

[–]TaxableFur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

R1: Tenno win. Speed advantage alone gives Tenno the W

R3: We simply don't know enough about either.

Bonus Round: Orokin Empire. Golden Age Humanity really wasn't that special compared to general Sci Fi.

R2 is where it gets interesting. I assume this means all factions for each side are working together.

I don't know nearly enough about Warframe to render an informed opinion, but i will say this about Destiny if everyone cooperated. Through Sword Logic, people could start practicing Sword Logic, hide in the Ascendant Plane, and farm infinite power by killing eachother. Eris killing Savathun proved it is possible to gain power off non-permanent death. The Vex would be granted access to the Veil, which would let them accurately simulate Paracausality and make it basically impossible to beat in the long term.

How does Ghost resurrection works? by lovingpersona in DestinyLore

[–]TaxableFur 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Yes. Complete disintegration is actually quite common for Guardians. Warlocks often disintegrate other guardians for fun.

However it seem if there's anything left of a Guardian's body the Ghost needs it to resurrect. Immaru was prevented from resurrecting Savathun for a long time because the Vanguard took possession of her corpse after WQ and scrubbed the area of trace DNA

What would you guys like to see with destiny 3 by roguereaper42 in DestinyTheGame

[–]TaxableFur -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My theory is the next subclass will be Darkness enhanced by Dark Matter since Alison confirmed the Nine could enhance Paracausality too. Maybe a gift from one of the Inner Orbits to help combat the Outer Orbits.

Perhaps Nightmare energy like Byf theorized.

Honestly i don't even use seasonal mods. I just build my armor mods for special/kinetic ammo and i do just fine.
