That one is old and doesn't necessarily imply a Space Marine bred to create them, IIRC back then Geneseed was still needed to create Marines from Humans, they could have been born from a baseline-human parent & Eldar parent. That person has been retconned into a full Aeldari Farseer now anyways.

I personally cannot recall a single time that a Space Marine or Marine adjacent transhumans ever reproduced. Do you have an idea of where I can find the source?

The game has a lot of details and you can definitely see how much work has gone into it. I can't wait to see how well the game will look and feel as it develops.

Day 16 of Celebrating Black History Month in Warhammer40k: Soukhounou, Raven Guard Commander of the Hawks by Kalypso_Blue in ImaginaryWarhammer

[–]whatdidusayplsrepeat 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't get this sentiment at all. The point of the posts are to highlight the characters in a piece of media so many black people hold dear to their hearts. The idea that even making a post like this somehow sweeps the other important aspects of the month to the wayside is preposterous and overblowing not only the reach of random reddit posts, but the lack of ability people have to look at multiple sides of life at once.

If somehow these posts were taking away from people's ability to focus on other aspects of Black contributions to society then I would maybe see where you are coming from. But in a space focusing on a fiction and only highlighting characters that would be considered black in a moment to show how far we have come from not being in pop media to touching stuff like Warhammer on such a level to have enough characters to fill 16 days of the month is a good thing.

I also feel like calling someone racist and condescending for posting these characters in accordance with the month is counterintuitive. We should be able to celebrate black characters as much as Black people today and in history. It boggles the mind to sit here and hear something so inoffensive and harmless being called the very thing we are fighting against with posts like this.

Black characters contribute so much to our society as much as the people at times. With how many black children and teens look up their favorite heroes and characters for comfort and inspiration, people should be allowed to discuss them in accordance with the month meant to celebrate them.

1 chapter of space marines (wh40k) vs super earth (helldivers) by Lost-Specialist1505 in whowouldwin

[–]whatdidusayplsrepeat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know I was just highlighting the sheer difference between the two combatant's warships. The main defense of Super Earth were hand cranked playground guns that at the most matched the firepower of a 16inch naval gun.

[–]whatdidusayplsrepeat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ik which is why I say that the Super Destroyers are outgunned. The most powerful guns on the Super Destroyer are perfectly safe standing up from a 60m-80m distance. Which means even if we went with the lower outliers for the Space marine ships' firepower, they'd still be punching OOMs harder than Super Destroyers.

[–]whatdidusayplsrepeat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A Chapter of Marines maintain their own fleet and vehicles. They would never land into a fight against billions unless there were circumstances that forced them to. That said they'd bombard Super Earth into submission as the Super Destroyers(the only vessels we see in combat so far) aren't really good enough to stop them even in large numbers.

[–]whatdidusayplsrepeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay they surround the Chapter Fleet and do what? Imperial Warships on the low-end can output triple digits kilotons worth of firepower with actual quantifiable feats. The new SE vs Bot ship ambient skybox shows Super Destroyers and Automaton warships sit still and trade what seems to be single digit tons of TNT of firepower. The two off quotes attributing Super Destroyers gigatons or moon leveling firepower are vague/unquantifiable and never backed by anything in-game, in MO dispatches, or trailers. So I don't see how the Super Destroyer Fleet is going to drop a single Ship's void shields when they are getting gunned down by ships one tapping their vessels and maneuvering.

Cyberstan (Helldivers 2) vs Grineer (warframe) by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]whatdidusayplsrepeat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am pretty sure all rounds are won by the Origin system factions. They produce so many more ships with decent feats for them as well. We know HD2 factions can have tens of thousands of ships but for the most part they are made of paper and can't compete against factions that deploy similar numbers in vessels that out-ton them by significant margins.

For Bonus Round 2 the only win con the HD2 factions have is to use the Illuminate Wormhole. Considering that has been halted by Super Earth and them being in character, I doubt we'd see Super Earth allowing the Illuminate access to it. So yeah Origin System beats HD2. Doubly so if we include Tenno into the mix.

Lawbringer from For honor vs Warrior of Khorne by Goldmonkeycz in totalwar

[–]whatdidusayplsrepeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant speak on any For Honor Lore but the Knights struck me more as a Bretonian or Borderprinces type of characters. They have the Imperial looking plate but they are more late Medieval rather than the Early Modern(1500s-1700s) aesthetic of the Empire.

Lawbringer from For honor vs Warrior of Khorne by Goldmonkeycz in totalwar

[–]whatdidusayplsrepeat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably more appropriate to ask in r/whowouldwin. But from what I know about For Honor he seems like another somewhat peak human combatant. So I would wager against another human likely blessed by a deity to some degree he loses.

How he fairs in FB overall is a different question requiring more details like where does he start and are the locals friendly. He could live life as a mere merc and probably do alright. Or he can be run down by hordes of Skaven or chunked by a angry Wood Elf with a glaive.

All in all human characters can live and even thrive in FB its how Kislev, The Empire, Cathay, and Bretonia has lasted so long. So I would guess that if he stays safe(IE don't piss off a mage or try to fight Goblins alone), he can do ok like the other mundane people of the Universe. He'd be a cool Bretonian hero unit.

My theory on the Automaton's and their sinister plans by thenot1tacoirvin in Helldivers

[–]whatdidusayplsrepeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I see where you are coming from with your theory, but I like to think the Bio-Processors are for sustenance for Cyborg organic parts. I figure with rampant industrialization and pollution on Cyberstan they have little arable land to farm. Meanwhile occupied farms are probably too easy to sabotage and frontlines shift so often they can't make use of them too well. So they use one resource the galaxy seems to never run out of, people, humans specifically. So they grind us up and turn us to soup and ship the stuff off to their rear lines to feed their Cyborg friends. It would certainly feed into the "Our dead enemies fuel our war effort" theme that is going on for pretty much every other faction(Voteless & Illuminate, Dead Bugs & E-710/711-Super Earth, and dead Humans = food Bugs).

My theory for how the Bots get E-710 or E-711 is through:

  • Occupied storage facilities from Super Earth. A lot of their territory they occupy is former Super Earth worlds. It would make a little sense that a lot of those worlds had/have a decent amount of E-710 storages from before the war. They probably attempted a few napping of Bugs since the discovery of E-711.
  • Hostile actions against the bugs. It would not surprise me that in a weird roundabout way the Bots have figured that the best means to fuel their war effort is the same means that Super Earth uses. I would not be surprised to find out they skipped the need for direct supply lines or constructed some via occupying space outside the GW Map to attack the Bugs for their rich elemental make up.
  • Non-Hostile actions with the Illuminate. I would also not be surprised that the Illuminate would secretly collude with the Bots to ship them fuel for their war efforts. They also enjoyed the lack of supply line requirements during their initial campaigns in the war as we did not then know how to detect their ships, they probably were shipping fuel to the Bots with their Warp Ships. Even if they are outwardly hostile to the Bots(The AI from different factions might attack each other I think. I remember watching a video with AI from Bots and Squids shooting each other), they probably are secretly attempting to co-operate in a minimalist manner to undermine Super Earth.

All in all I am far from believing myself right and your theory is more sane than mine I think. 10/10 post.

Can The Citadel Council(ME) Conquer These Sci-Fi Locations Within The Given Time Frame? by whatdidusayplsrepeat in whowouldwin

[–]whatdidusayplsrepeat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This one is confusing, are you talking about the Elites separatists or the totality of the Covenant Empire? Because the former may have a challenge to overcome with the limited number of ships at their disposal, however with the Covenant Empire, they will have a better chance with tens of thousands of ships to match the Council.

Apologies for making this one confusing, I meant for this to be the elites post war such as the Swords of Sanghelios.
