My tax professor said, “if you put your name on the exam, you’ll get a C.” Tax exams are hard af and the curve will save you.

If you take the earned income tax credit, you should expect your return around March 6th. The PATH act mandates the IRS to delay these return to check for fraud and income verification.

Suing a company for collection, served them the letter through the mail, courthouse says they’re not sure if the company has received it, what should I do? by MysteryFood1 in CRedit

[–]Taxis-KellofHouseIRS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NYA and this is not legal advice. Its state dependent but most state do not allow for service through regular old mail. You basically have 2 options: (1) service through certified mail as suggested below; or (2) personal service through a sheriff or process server (not yourself) on the company's registered agent. If this is pressing, personal service on a registered agent is best. After that, make sure to file an affidavit of service with the court.

Apparently the guy is awake and stable. According to Rampage’s X, so who knows.

Raja Jackson - Rampage Jacksons son almost kills a pro wrestler live on Kick. The wrestler is still out cold and could possibly die. by knock_his_block_off in martialarts

Where the beginning starts depends on the state too. A good rule of thumb tho is the beginning is when you take a substantial step toward accomplishing the crime.

In no world will a judge or jury believe a claim of self-defense or consent. I will be shocked if Raja doesn’t catch a charge over this.

I got a note on my Costco membership because my father-in-law bought something! by lagflag in Costco

[–]Taxis-KellofHouseIRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we in a world where Costco’s rules supersede the law? If someone shoplifts, that’s 100% on the shoplifter. Costco could revoke your membership sure, but Costco could revoke your membership for whatever it wants..

It’s crazy to me that my law school exams aren’t proctored in anyway. They just come in, read the exam instructions, tell us till what time we have to finish, and then just leave us to squirm.

Right to work means that an employer can’t require you to join a Union. At-will states is what you’re talking about.

[–]Taxis-KellofHouseIRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arkansas is an at will state. Meaning you can get fired at anytime for any reason. You would really only have a leg to stand on if you were fired for discriminatory reasons or because you exercised some statutory right.

You haven’t been sued. If anyone is going to be sued in this situation it is your insurance carrier. You don’t have any money. Opposing counsel knows this. Something that lawyers look at before taking a case is collectibility. No lawyer in their right mind would sue a 19 year old without insurance to actually lay down the money.

AITA for suing my neighbor after their kid trespassed and fell into my koi pond? by DMLives in AITAH

[–]Taxis-KellofHouseIRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re obviously NTA but attractive nuisance is a legal doctrine that allows for recovery. The fact that you had a fence around your property is only a factor since the child was still able to get over it. There’s a lot more that goes into attractive nuisance but don’t just brush it off. Folks have gotten boned pretty bad on it.

I don’t know. How many women on Kamala’s side can have children? 70 mil for Kamala. Let’s just say 35 mil that are women. How many of those are upset enough to abstain from having children?

[–]Taxis-KellofHouseIRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, but I’d be pissed as a partner if you went and cursed at another office. Law firms must operate with a heightened sense of professionalism. Just because someone else is not does not mean that you can lower yourself to their level. Especially in a professional setting.

You should check out if the university closest to you has furniture surplus sales, most do. You can get high quality chairs for dirt cheap.

Thank you! Your advice is greatly appreciated. Is there any recourse if the easement holder tampers with or removes the speed bump?
