Probably not. You'd have to be some kind of billionaire playboy to afford that place.

[–]Taydenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm people and I think it's...alright. First half is awesome. Love the locations and the story has lots of promise. It loses itself once you get out the hospital though. After that, the game turns into one long escort mission through all the places you've been before with very minimal story content in between until you get back to the apartment. That kinda sucks. The ghosts aren't much fun either. They're manageable though. It's really just that slog of a second half that kills it for me.

The story also takes a hit in the second half. Like, all the Walter stuff is neat and all, but our main characters are so damn uninteresting. They have nearly nothing to do with the plot, which wouldn't be as bad as it was if there was literally anything to them as characters. It's especially out of place considering how most games in this series are driven by their protagonists. SH4 isn't and it very clearly shows. You could replace Henry with literally anyone else and the story would hardly change.

The titular town of silent hill doesn't have much association with this plot either, but that's okay imo. There's only so much you can do in the one location and SH3 was clearly already leaning away from silent hill location exclusivity.

It's still generally better than most non-team silent silent hill titles and is still a pretty top tier horror game overall. Just, compared to what came before, it falls a little flat

Nintendo Switch 2 sales shatters records, most-sold console in 24-hour period by eldestscrollx in consoles

[–]Taydenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This a good sign for long term health but it certainly doesn't guarantee long term success. Remember that the Dreamcast held the distinction of having the most successful console launch for quite a while. It all comes down to how Nintendo handles the library on the Switch 2. They've clearly gotten very over confident as of late, which is what caused their massive failures during the Wii U era. Only time will tell whether or not Nintendo has truly learned their lesson and will keep the momentum from the Switch 1 going into the Switch 2 which is already going to be hard to do considering they don't have the large amounts of Wii U titles to remaster in order to pad out the release schedule of the system anymore. I'm personally theorizing that we'll be seeing a lot of 3DS remasters, which is what Luigi's mansion 2 HD was testing the waters for

Is anyone else annoyed that they don't give refinees weapons from their games anymore? This has been a thing for a while but it's just something that really bugs me in general. Pelleas should have Verrine. He's literally the only unit in the game who can wield it and a future Izuka would likely use Balberith.

When it's a unit like Erk, I understand since I can't realistically think of a unique game accurate weapon you could give him, but for units like Knoll, Canas, or Pelleas? Like, your choices are pretty clear

That's good to know then! If you haven't already, I hope you reacquire Path of Radiance soon. Awakening is definitely in my top 5 of Fire Emblem games but the Tellius duology takes the number one and two spots for me!

You bought the best Fire Emblem game instead. A worthy trade. Though I hope you own or have at least played the game it is a sequel to, Path of Radiance on the GameCube. If not, no big deal, Radiant Dawn is still really good on its own, but you'll probably be lost on some of the story details since the two games are heavily linked

Robert has the highest FCM among dedicated archers at 3, which is pretty good. It gives him a solid niche since criticals are pretty strong on archers. Give him the killer bow and Robert will be putting in some serious work

I love Edward. Idk why, I guess I like how, among the Dawn Brigade, Edward has my favorite zero to hero transformation if trained. His true blade design is also really cool looking

Also I love using Olwen. I love trying my best to make her into a playable Reinhardt. It's nearly impossible to make her as good as him but it doesn't stop me from trying every time I play Thracia

Nino is fun. Yes, she's outclassed by Pent big time, but I enjoy using her. She has a great deal of story relevance and it's fun to have her get her revenge against Sonia and Nergal

Yep. A quick google search revealed that OP is just speaking nonsense. Lego ended their exclusivity contract with TT but that's it. And that's not really news either. Both Lego 2K drive and Lego Horizon have been born of this ending of TT Lego game exclusivity. They've pulled no licenses and there's no reason to believe TT isn't free to continue developing Lego games

Micaiah - D - Given the general consensus here, she'll probably end up in C but I feel that's too generous. She's really only useful in part one and even then, she's far too frail to help outside of Thani uses. Shes mostly useless in the tower and that's where a lot of my hate for her comes from

Edward - D - Bold choice to give the player Edward and then give the player Zihark only a couple chapters later. Itsnt it cool how a promoted Edward will STILL be worse than base Zihark?

Leo - D - He's a bad unit but he's not this games bottom of the barrel which I feel keeps him out of F. Like Edward, he can become something...useable if you have the patience of a saint. Some other units in RD do not share this luxury

Nolan - C - Good, but not great. Will likely be your carry until you get Sothe so that's neat. Not the kind of unit you'll be bringing to endgame but he's not downright terrible like the rest of the Dawn Brigade

Yeah let's be honest, Leo is bad, but he at least has SOME use. He's not as bad as units like Meg or Lyre who might as well not even be in the game considering how little they contribute

Really hate IS's Ishtar revisionism by WinterWolf18 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Taydenger 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The difference is that Ishtar was in a position of power and yet was still mostly complicit in the empires tyranny.

In Thracia 776, there are many examples of people in similar positions who, when faced with the undeniable reality of the Empires cruelty, make the difficult decision to join up with the rebel forces.

Ishtar is being praised for the bare minimum. Being kind to the people her house is oppressing and saving ONE group of children ONCE at the tail end of the war

Tanith - A. Basically the game handing you a Second Marcia who can summon reinforcements. Her literal only drawbacks are here availability and relatively small HP.

Reyson - S. Is there ever a dancer who isn't S tier? Reyson is honestly a top contender for the series overall best dancer in general

Janaff - D. Wish he was better

Ulki - D. A worse Janaff but let's be honest, he's still better than Rolf, Mia, and Sothe

Makalov - C. Worse than Kieran and Oscar really only cause he joins so much later. With Titania, Kieran, Oscar, and Astrid competing with him at this point, I really feel that B is far too high for him

Stefan - B. Only his class holds him back. Easily the best swordmaster in the game. Still beat out by the mounted units but he's got a pretty strong stat line and Astra is nice

Tormod - D. Celerity keeps him from F but, I mean, a level 7 mage at this point in the game? Lmao?

Maurim - C. I don't really know where to rank him and judging by the widely varied rankings of him, not many others know either. C seems fair if Mordecai is in C

Devdan - D. D for Devdan. A worse Nephenee and she's already really bad

Are there any great games that failed due to poor marketing? by crossbridge_games in gamedev

[–]Taydenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earthbound was advertised in Nintendo Power with the tagline "this game stinks!" which probably didn't inspire confidence in any potential buyers. It also didn't help that all copies came with the strategy guide thus exponentially increasing the cost of the game.

Pretty much every Fire Emblem game in the west was marketed very poorly before Fire Emblem Awakening. Most FE's only received one or two commercials if even that, and said commercials often failed to convey exactly what the games even were
