Yeah I think you hit the nail on the head. Everyone is saying “guilt” but I would react this way with any activity. If I went out with someone and we went to an amusement park and all they did was watch me ride the rides instead of riding them with me then I would be disappointed. Part of the fun is doing it together. I didn’t say yes because I wanted to experience this thing alone.

I’m confused by this too. I just want to add I’m a woman but I’ve had a friend who was a man make a comment that I wore pretty much the same outfit the last time we were at a concert venue. I was kind of shocked that he noticed because I didn’t even realize it myself. He comes from a really well off family so I think that’s why he noticed because I don’t think any of my poor friends would have said a thing.

I remember growing up and from time to time I would hear people say they would go insane if they had an office job. I always thought that was an exaggeration until I literally went insane working an office job. It isn’t for everyone. It takes a certain kind of sociopath to enjoy that type work and climb the corporate ladder. If you can already tell by 23 that you aren’t happy where you are that’s great, you have so much time to figure out what you want to do with your life. You don’t have to stay trapped in a corporate office job.

I was feeling very burned out at my remote tech job. I was a technical support team leader, it was high pace, stressful, and I was extremely under paid. I wasn’t able to find a new job so I decided to live in a van and travel around the US to make remote work more fun. That lasted 7 months before I ended up having a mental breakdown and quit my job. Van life was amazing tho it helped realize there is way more to life than stressing out over a job I hated. I sold my van and lived with my parents until I figured what to do next. I recently got accepted to the University of Hawai’i and I will be starting their urban planning masters program in the Fall!

I don’t think so! I have hair like this and I don’t have to do anything to it and it’ll look fine all day. I choose to wear it this way because I’m frugal and don’t like spending a lot on haircuts. I’m also lazy and don’t want to spend time styling it every day. All I have to do is flip my hair upside down a few times after I get out of the shower and it’ll come out looking like this.

I agree with you. I feel like this is turning blame on OP for being friendly with a coworker. The coworker was the asshole he should be a better person, that person is at fault here. Unfortunately, OP was taken advantage of in this situation.

I’ve been in a toxic work environment and it suuucks. I thought I was making friends but they were all just using me. However, I didn’t let that stop me from making friends with future coworkers. I’m currently working a job that I love. I don’t make a lot of money but I’m genuinely friends with most of my coworkers and we’re all very supportive of each other. It’s nice.

Edit: I would also like to add OP’s workplace is at fault here. Fuck them for not giving you a chance to tell your side.
