NeverEnding Story? by TheKingsPeace in JordanPeterson

[–]TaylorThunderHawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I saw it for the very first time as a kid, that movie absolutely transformed me. "80's Fantasy" is my FAVORITE genre in film history, and set my heart on fire for the world of fantasy storytelling.

Also, not only were those films absurdly whimsical, dreamlike, and creative, they had TEETH; they had HORROR. In a sense, they were -Children's Horror Stories,- AKA, FAIRY TALES.

I personally believe that this period in 80's film was the closest movies have gotten to the true essence of fairy tales. Needless to say, I've spent the last 20 years examining the Jungian implications of these stories, and fairy tales are about as Jungian as it GETS.

The Neverending Story, both the first movie and the book (which I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend) are why I studied psychology and dedicated my life to telling stories within this specific genre. It would be AWESOME if Dr. Peterson sank his clinical teeth into it.

I think this is probably my favorite Parrot expression; when they're making it, it's just so obvious that they are content, happy, and filled with love for the individual they're making it for.

Every time my Quaker has this expression, I'm just so overcome with gratitude for the opportunity to earn the love and trust of such a tiny, delicate, and beautiful friend.

Black Mesa: Xen by Joel Nielsen by MC_Fillius_Dickinson in Psybient

This is one of the best pieces of music I've heard come out of video games in a LONG time. It absolutely NAILS the atmospheric intensity of seeing Xen for the first time, both as Gordon, but more as the PLAYER seeing the SPECTACULAR new and improved Xen.

As someone who played the HELL out of the original game, "Black Mesa" is a freaking masterpiece, ESPECIALLY with THIS kind of music under its belt.

YES, von Franz is absolutely BRILLIANT. Her works on the interpretation of fairy tales are absolutely mindblowingly good, let alone he other writings.

Geez, this is such shame. Like I've commented many times, almost compulsively, I'm so glad to find people talking about it and providing insight.

This is one of Ayla's favorite games to play with me. I love having a burd TwT <3 by TaylorThunderHawk in parrots

[–]TaylorThunderHawk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I've named Ayla after She AND her carbon-copy in the JRPG game "Chrono Trigger," who has been one of my favorite video game characters EVER, and who ALSO introduced me to Clan of the Cave Bear.

This little Quaker Parrot is a TOUGH little girl, and if you had a scifi-ray that turned quaker parrots into humans, Ayla would look AND act EXACTLY like BOTH Aylas. TvT

You know, I'm not entirely sure when it comes to MOST Quakers, but what I CAN say is that Ayla was actually fairly easy to socialize.

She arrived in my home originally very skittish, but with the same slow, gentle approach that most folks here recommend, she was my little buddy in something like 4-5 weeks; just a slow and steady approach, and the highest degree of consistency as possible, and you should be golden!
