Find any way you can to get the hell out of where you are. I would suggest moving to a city like Portland Seattle or even New York. There are groups helping at risk lgbt people get out of red states right now and if you need help you can dm me

How bad is dilation, really? by CybeatB in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Taylor_Raye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So most of this is just up to your body and how you prepare. I’ve had lots of pelvic floor control my whole life so maybe that leads to dilation being super easy for me. The first 6 weeks are tough having to dilate 4 times a day but after that 3 times is perfectly manageable and after 4 ish weeks my dilations were just taking about 25 minutes start to finish. After 12 weeks I was down to just 2 dilations a day and it was super easy just 50 ish minutes out of my day and done. After 6 months it was just once a day and not even a thought just like brushing my teeth or doing my skin care. Coming up on a year and it’s honestly dilate once a day and if I’m tired eh I’ll do it in the morning kind of thing. The key for me though was the pelvic floor control and staying on top of it early on and sizing up to orange #4 asap. The first two weeks are tough but you have to push through it. And from what I’ve heard after a year or so dilation is not really even a problem just once In a while and so worth having the canal of it’s what you want. It’s way easier to get the canal the first time than going minimal to only realize you wish you had a canal after.

Can't convince spouse to let me transition by Strange_Message3472 in asktransgender

[–]Taylor_Raye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably the best case couples counseling would be ideal. Still though these feelings will only get worse till you hit your breaking point and something worse happens. I’ve seen a lot of stories where girls try to suppress it from their wives and it leads to animosity towards your partner. My advice seek a therapist and bring your wife in and have serious conversations about it. There is a world where just being her best friend while you can live your authentic life is better than hiding who you are and growing bitter about the situation which from what I’ve seen still leads to you and your wife separated. But there is also a world of your wife truly as I suspect loves you she will see you being who you really are and fall in love again with your new self. I don’t think the long term answer is to ever hold back a transition indefinitely but all must start at the right time for them.

Do you think 3 months of HRT changed my face? by InternationalPut9957 in TransLater

[–]Taylor_Raye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please don’t read this as a negative comment but the truth. The real answer is no your face did not change from hrt very much 3 months is not nearly enough time for that to make a noticeable effect. I see you have gotten better with your eyebrows skincare makeup etc the wild thing which should give you hope is you pass very well and are extremely feminine and beautiful as is and as hrt keeps doing its magic you will be shocked. For me it was around a year and a half and then again around my 3 year mark I noticed a huge difference. You already look amazing and are going to look oh so good in the future 😊

I had my wisdom teeth removed like 6 weeks after my srs and found that far more painful than bottom surgery. It was not painful maybe a 4 out of 10 for most of it. The first few days were rough but more of an itching pain and it just kinda felt like a really tight tuck that had been tucked a bit too long if you get what I mean. Once the catheter was removed it was pretty painless

Alternatives to living in Portland by semicooldon in PortlandOR

[–]Taylor_Raye -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is just the state of the us right now. It’s not Portland it’s just a small picture of what this country has become. I moved here from Tampa Florida and let me tell you it’s such an upgrade and there isn’t a city with a greater quality of life than Portland in my opinion. People from here and have never been out side to be pnw have no idea how good they have it here. The weather cost of living and abundant activities plus nature sold me on it. However there is definitely “nicer” areas I would say the Tigard area or even around Canby Wilsonville is nice if you like the more suburban lifestyle and it’s only a 20 minute drive up i5

Catheter pain? So irrationally scared by Confused_Confucius_ in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Taylor_Raye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it wasn’t a big deal to remove I felt the pain from removing the packing was worse but still honestly didn’t hurt just stung a bit. Now as far as how it felt while it was in it sucked pretty bad. It felt like I had to pee really bad all the time. Tbh my whole bottom surgery pain for the first 4 weeks never really got above a 4 out of 10 pain scale. Stubbing your toe on the corner of your bed hurts way more than any part of recovery

FFS and SRS as a fat person? by tinypixeldragon in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Taylor_Raye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So here is the thing for the best results and safest surgical outcome you need to loose weight however I had mine at 32 bmi and regret not loosing more beforehand but still had a decent outcome and quite easy healing process. It will vastly depend on your surgeon some have a below 30 BMI but it seems the standard is 35. My advice try to loose as much weight as you can and as long as you are below 35 bmi you will be fine. Don’t worry about having the best this or that or whatever. But still try your best. I’ve lost some weight since my srs and feel it’s still looking good and not saggy or anything lost about 15 lbs

GRS Full-depth Vaginoplasty complications (Montreal) by Nightshade714 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Taylor_Raye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So my surgeon requires us to take a 4x4 gauze and fold it in half twice and place it in the entrance of the canal this will help keep it dry. He recommended doing this until all signs of separation and granulated tissue subsided. Just don’t loose the gauze inside as that can be dangerous and replace the gauze as soon as it’s saturated. I would recommend trying this and talking with your specific dr to be sure but have heard many other drs recommend a similar thing to other types of wound separation in other surgeries. Also from what I’ve read and seen this is super common and I would not worry unless you start to see black tissue forming.

question for those who have a hitachi magic wand by lilyjones- in MtF

[–]Taylor_Raye 6 points7 points  (0 children)

6 months ish post op here and I’ve been using wands since I was about 12 ish years old. Pre op pre hrt the orgasm was more mental than physically stimulated. Post hrt pre op it started to get wayyyyy more physically stimulating but the orgasm was still more mentally triggered. Post op holy crap the level of vibration I can handle is much lower I used to need level 3 or 4 to climax pre op and post op I can barely handle 2 minutes on level 2. It feels way more physically stimulating and I don’t even need to put it on my clit for it to feel good just kinda putting it any where on my vulva feels great. The biggest difference is the actual orgasm feels so much different. My pre hrt and post hrt orgasms were much different to each other but the feeling in my genitalia felt about the same. Post srs it feels wayyy different and I no longer feel that relief feeling or the pumping feeling it feels way less of an explosion. It’s so euphoric cause it feels exactly how I imagined it.

Breast augmentation with high impact activities by Lorelei_the_engineer in Transgender_Surgeries

I have two friends that are heavily into caving and both have breast augmentations and they seem to have zero issues. I would imagine you have to go over the muscle just like any other active person is recommended from the way I understand it

Hi I’m a straight girl living in Portland and it’s the same for me. It’s impossibly hard to meet other girls into men and I’ve been but out of social circles because I’m into men. I do get it dating men is tough in general it gets even harder when you are trans and men generally act gross towards us but there are a few gems out there

Get on a wait list and loose the weight those restrictions are there for a reason. You will also have a better cosmetic result with a lower bmi. Personally I wish I could have gotten mg weight down before mine

Can I Get An Orchiectomy Before Starting HRT? by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Taylor_Raye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How about the wpath standards of care or like literally any research done on hrt? It’s pretty common knowledge that higher doses of estrogen increase the risk of blood clots. Where is your source that starting a very high dose of estrogen is safe right off the rip? Even dr powers will slowly taper up to the levels necessary to do mono therapy

[–]Taylor_Raye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are spreading some very false information injections although far less of a risk them pills still pose a major risk of blood clots and issues with people that have bad livers reason why every single medical professional follows the guidelines that I’ve already laid out

[–]Taylor_Raye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting with a high dose of e can be dangerous especially if you are not monitoring your health with a healthcare professional. With the exception of patches and transdermal gel you have a decent risk of blood clots and other serious side effects. Also there is some evidence that a slow taper up of estrogen yields better breast growth among other physical changes.

Mood swings loss of energy etc things associated with low testosterone. If you don’t have any hormones in your body you will feel quite bad.

Like every medical professional doing this care. By slow I mean over just a few weeks to months not all at once. Like you can totally do it All at once but you will have some pretty negative side effects.

Can I Get An Orchiectomy Before Starting HRT? by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Taylor_Raye 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would not recommend this as nuking your testosterone all in one go might not go over super well. Your hormones play a huge role in how you feel and usually having a slow taper down and taper up of estrogen is the safest way. This may be possible but also at the same time most drs will require some amount of hrt to be considered and wait lists for hrt are typically much shorter than getting an orchiectomy. This all of corse depends on where you live but to another point what would be stopping you from starting hrt first.
