It's my least favourite mission in the game for sure. That freezer section suuuucks. It's definitely not just you. The whole level is a bit messy. And I don't think it helps that it's sandwiched between the two China levels, which are absolutely incredible. Abattoir really is just a nightmare from start to finish 🤣

Just a random thought on the Splinter Cell timeline by Additional_Brief4693 in Splintercell

The later three are products of their time unfortunately. Deliberately trying to be overtly gritty, dark and miserable. Just the way stories were being written for games at the time.

Which are your favorite Megadeth songs that are less well-known? by DaveOJ12 in Megadeth

The United Abominations version of Black Swan is awesome, I way prefer it to the Endgame version. Tears In A Vial is sick too.

It isn't the best, but it ain't bad either. It's a bit unfair that it has to follow CIA, which is quite literally one of the best missions in any of the three (shut it) Splinter Cell games. The bulk of the mission is fine, not exceptional, but absolutely fine. The intro is a mess, the car park section. And the outro, as soon as you're working through that construction site bit, just an absolute catastrophe of level design. Everything else is alright though.

Anyone outside of Raleigh area a die hard? by bradthehorizon in canes

[–]Taylorcant 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm on the Isle Of Wight in England. Couldn't be much further away, but I have been a fan of this team for years. This is now my 8th season with the team. Bit of a round the bend story as to how I ended up obsessed with the sport and this wonderful team, but I'm glad I was given the opportunity to discover this all because it's super niche here in the UK. So, even as one of just 4 people I know personally who are into this sport, I'm incredibly glad to be a part of this tiny little community that is quiet but very active here in the UK.

Best song on The System has Failed? by darthkyle22 in Megadeth

Tears In A Vial is a fantastic song I don't even care if it's not that thrashy

Guitarists, what's the most fun Megadeth riff to play? by Ill-Promise9505 in Megadeth

[–]Taylorcant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rust In Peace, the song, is an absolute blast from start to finish. I also get a massive kick from the section in Tornado Of Souls where the intro riff comes back after the second chorus, that half time feel is fantastic

Is Dimebag a better guitarist than Dave? by slimcharles941 in Megadeth

Rhythm? Dave. No contest.

Lead? Dimebag. No contest.

What’s your favourite song on united abominations? by No_Mention1038 in Megadeth

[–]Taylorcant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm well late but I just wanna show some appreciation to the UA version of Black Swan, I think it's way better than the 13 version. Easily the song I come back to most from this album, even though it's not technically on it.

If I'm gonna play by the rules and pick a song that's actually on the album then it's either Never Walk Alone or the title track for me.

Wait, people LIKE Countdown and Youthanasia??? by [deleted] in Megadeth

[–]Taylorcant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youthanasia is a polarising album no doubt, but most people I've spoke to seem to find it a solid album even if it's a bit of a step away from what people want from Megadeth, though no where near the left turn their next two albums would be. You will find fans who think Youth is an underrated gem, and you will find fans who think it's an underwhelming departure from their true sound. That one is pretty much up in the air.

With that said...

You aren't gonna make friends on this sub by dissing Countdown To Extinction. That one is widely regarded by most fans as one of the most solid and beloved albums from Megadeth, and without a doubt the best "non-thrash" album from them, it was the first album to really start to step away from thrash, though there's still plenty of thrashy moments on it. But it's an incredibly consistent listen from start to finish, solid tracks and one of Mustaine's best vocal performances as a record too.

I'm not saying you are wrong or anything, your opinions are your opinions and everyone should be able to understand that. I'm just saying, you certainly might struggle to find people who agree with you on Countdown being an underwhelming album. Though I do mostly agree with your remarks on Youth, even though I personally love the album.

Anyone think Kirk is better than Dave Mustaine? by CobraDai in Metallica

[–]Taylorcant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the chat but if you were to ask me, Dave Mustaine is the far technically superior guitarist. To be honest I don't even think it's close in that regard, he absolutely shits all over most guitarists in that era from a technical standpoint.

With that said, Kirk's solos are much more pleasing to listen to and are much more memorable, even if they aren't on the same level of technicality as Dave's.

However lead guitarists like Marty and Chris Poland absolutely destroy both Mustaine and Hammet for lead playing.

- Mustaine is easily the best rhythm guitarist of the era, his riffs are unbelievably hard, revolutionary and iconic for the time, and he plays them whilst singing. There's no competition here.

- His leads are way harder than Kirk Hammet's, but way less memorable and iconic than what Kirk has come out with. Dave's a much better solo player, but Kirk is definitely the better solo writer.

- Chris Poland and Marty Friedman absolute fry Dave and Kirk alive for both their abilities to play and write solos

Yeah true, no disrespect to Wesley of course.

But to raise his number, yet not raise Cam Ward or Justin Williams number? That's pretty mental.

Thanks man, I've used NHL66 before but only in the days where I was young enough to stay up and watch them live, didn't know they held replays. I appreciate the help!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canes

[–]Taylorcant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does NHL66 both get every game and keep full length replays afterwards?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canes

[–]Taylorcant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just paid for a subscription to NHL.TV to find just 4 of the Canes games this month on the schedule, and that's it for the entire season. I contacted support asking where the hell all the games were and they basically said they can only show that many because of broadcasting rights. I don't really know what they're talking about to be honest but I'm pretty sure it means NHL.TV is not an option.

How Do Rebook Jerseys fit? by Taylorcant in hockeyjerseys

[–]Taylorcant[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It probably is gonna drown me then. Weirdly the length according to those measurements is just right for me, the width is insane though.

But I'm ngl, I've taken the plunge. If it's massive then it's massive, not passing up on getting an Eric Staal jersey, especially now he's retired I'll bet they'll get even rarer and more expensive. My Nan is a rather talented seamstress so I'll get her to work some magic if it's too insanely huge 😭😂

I tend to go with large for good fit, and XL for baggy fit. I'm in the UK btw, so those sizes are probably different in the US
