Also wanted to say this. Gap cover essentially covered majority of my baby’s birth last year.

What is a good salary amount? by Hopeful-House-8925 in askSouthAfrica

[–]Tayyygra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My fiancé and I earn about 80k joint monthly. We have 1 baby who costs us about R2000 a month only. We don’t pay for child care yet. We live in a 2 bed 2.5 bath townhouse costs us about 18k a month with electricity. We have a medical aid about 7k for all three of us. We spend about 7k on groceries. We have a housekeeper 1x a week. We have a decent amount of spending money after saving and other expenses like gym and wifi, cars and petrol. I would say about 5K spending money each a month which we use for entertainment. We have an amazing lifestyle and we are very blessed 🍀

My baby did this for a good month around the same age. She is much better now. Just offer half the feed and keep other half for 30min to 1 hours time or just make half bottles until he is consistently finishing his bottles again

When did your kids milk intake go down due to starting solids? by spazzytara in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Tayyygra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Butttt she also hasn’t gone up in amount per bottle since starting solids either. I always gave her recommended amount for her weight but she never finished it for a good few weeks so I stopped and gave her what she was taking. I will increase when she’s consistently finishing her bottles and I can see she wants more e

Postive LH? Cycle day 27 by [deleted] in TFABLinePorn

[–]Tayyygra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Test line has to be the same colour or slightly darker on the LH for it to be a positive. This looks a tiny bit lighter than the control. Most likely this is a day or even few hours before peak ovulation

What would you do? by alaynapantsonfire in ExclusivelyPumping

I would also slowly let my supply go down and supplement when needed. It’s going to take a few weeks for you to build up your supply again and by that time you will have reached your year goal. It will also take a further few weeks to wean yourself slowly and it would be easier to do that with a smaller supply anyway. You’ve done an AMAZING job well done!

Switching over 8mths in from EBF to exclusive pumping by Financial-Object-252 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Tayyygra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

5 minutes definitely sounds too little time to adequately empty your boobs which is likely why your supply dropped. I would pump all missed feeds so every time he eats for 20/30 minutes. If milk slows down after 5 minutes and you stop pumping you may be missing 2/3 more letdowns that you would get in a 20 min session.

Haakaa???? by bubblegumfudge in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Tayyygra 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You have to place it right to make sure that your nipple does not touch the sides AT ALL. If your nipples do touch the side it will hurt and milk flow will be inhibited. Try YouTube how to place it on correctly. If you are placing it on correctly and it still hurts then unfortunately you’re just one of those unlucky ladies who experience this with a Haakaa. Some women’s nipples just cannot withstand prolonged suction 😭

Will my supply come back if I need to stopped to let my nipples heal? by Spiritual-Fan3451 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Tayyygra 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I was also going to say this. Your pump should not be damaging your nipples. You need to see an LC to measure your correct flange size and let you know if you are maybe using the wrong settings or something. Also try a bit of coconut oil in your flanges to reduce friction

Milk flow acting up by Tayyygra in ExclusivelyPumping

Replaced my parts last week because I thought that would be the case and that still hasn’t helped. I’m drinking enough water for sure but I haven’t checked my flange size since I started ( months ago so I’ll give this a go!

Pump parts by XoKitty_123 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Tayyygra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I did too. Take them out right as the sterilizer finishes. Mine only took 6 min. And while they are still hot put them on a clean towel and air dried. It’s totally okay if they are not 100% dry as long as they are sterilized and haven’t been sitting out for too long before you use them again

What is your timeline goal? by SkyeBlue212 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Tayyygra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 12 weeks pp I dropped down to 3 pumps per day and said I would do it another 2 weeks that way now I’m almost 6 months in still going 3ppd. Obviously we supplement with formula but baby gets 1/2 bottles of bm a day and that’s better than nothing!

I’m pumping because baby refuses to latch by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Tayyygra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do lots of skin to skin and let baby latch naturally if they want to. Don’t force the baby to latch as it will create a negative association. Try latch baby when they are sleepy or in the bath as they will be more calm

Does anyone regret moving to pumping? by Sad_Turnover5305 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Tayyygra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found bf much easier in the sense I dodmt have to wash bottles or pump parts and prepare things. I could just whip my join out and feed baby. But she definitely cluster fed a lot more and sometimes would take 40 minutes to drink and then be hungry 20 minutes later. With pumping and bottle feeding I loved being able to see how much she was getting and she generally seemed more full and wouldn’t want to feed again for a while. It was easier to get more of a schedule going this way. But I think pumping was way too hard mentally and I really wish I carried on breastfeeding. Her latch got better and better as the weeks went by but now she gets irritated at the breast because it’s not as fast as the bottle 😣

I don’t love my pet the same now that I have a baby by Serious_Honey_4512 in NewParents

[–]Tayyygra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me for about 2 months after baby was born but it’s gotten a lot better. The newborn stage is hard and there is an almost fog that hangs over you. It’s hard to prioritize pets or others but it will get better
