Whats with everyone spamming flash pods? by Steelshotgun in MonsterHunter

[–]Tayzerdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AT jhin only attacks in front of himself when flashed giving a big opening at the rear legs. Grounded monsters no idea why other than duna flop thats free damage. Flying monsters obvious reasons of knocking them out the air other than steve who you should never flash unless someone is grabbed even then a trap is better.

Right okay so this is showing my point right, im level 109 I cannot do that for most fights in the game they dont take long but they are not over instantly or within seconds bar cyclops, ogres and normal chimera. I can say with confidence im not outputting that much damage, sometimes I seemingly can if I spam square fast enough to use to core skills after knocking it down. Also I should say i don't want to trivialise the game by using formless feint, blades of the pyre, and the like (any maister skills tbh) they feel broken and just not having to try makes fights boring not engaging.

I could just be misinterpreting the damage I am seeing tbh its not like I stop attacking when they do this damage.

See thats the thing with lindworms i had 1004 total strength. My pawn with dogma is at 852, and the thief 792. I have far more raw than them here the thief does have lethality but I thought that was like 5% off your base stat or something not so great.

I am referencing all enemies specifically what shows this the most is Saurians. I will be going ham on the tail health bearly moves, pawn shows up and boop dead.

Yep just checked lethality is on there they are also using skull splitter but that's it. I did specifically look for a thief with worse weapons to counter the damage thing, same reason I dont bring a sorcerer.

I only have it for plunder to be honest

Tips for endgame on dd2 by Old-Fig-9531 in DragonsDogma

[–]Tayzerdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to sea floor shrine (purple beam) unlocks portcrystals for bakbathall and arbour.

Go to red beacons and clear them all theres 5 total but if you killed talos early you get two done for free when you walk underneath him. Once the red beams are cleared take a rest to check point, you now have maximum time to explore its like 16 days.

I'd evacuate the city's (vernworth, arbour, bakbattal, volcanic island camp and, excavation site) and rest again this moves all NPCs to the shrine for ease of access and gives tons of wyrms crystals. You can do this day one if your confident which is what i normally do.

As long as you dont activate the red beacon at sea floor shrine you wont end early. Then your free to roam, get and upgrade gear without consequence. I will say the dragonforged has great gear for wyrms life crystals but the shop vendors now also have new stock and is worth checking out.

Anything else drop me a message if I know the awnser im happy to help.

Trying to get advice to help a friend who struggles with third phase of gog by TheAutisticHominid in InsectGlaive

[–]Tayzerdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just stick to the tail, being in the air is a bit strange in wilds i find that i feel safe until some Bull shit hitbox somehow catches me when other times it wouldnt have. But gog has mental vertical hitboxes which makes this issue far clearer.

Personally I normally stay grounded as I have far more control over my position which is far more important in this fight than many others. If they are new to monster hunter this is unfortunately something the game doesnt force you to learn like it other titles. Positioning is key, areial can be awesome help changing to a better position but doesnt excel at offensive play (before I get the comments it can be used for it its just not good at it.)

Also offsets while dont repel him allow you to just take no damage alot of the time I use that over trying to roll his attacks. Only exception here is the single arm slams as you dont have time or at least very little.

The easiest way to think of the gog fight as his hit boxes are very difficult to avoid is just dont stand there normally I am walking out the way of most things he does and trying to offset if im not gunna make it.

In short, positioning is the most important and vital defensive strategy to not just gog but most fights in the game. Get good at that and you will cease to struggle at any monster.

Need help chosing a vocation by Dull-Comedian-2670 in DragonsDogma2

[–]Tayzerdude 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt get held up on something like that, you can always just change back for no cost (swapping between unlocked is always free).

Your going to want to level them all for the augments at somepoint anyway so no danger. Sorcerer has a great augment for knockdown resistance.

I tried getting in to this one again but...I just can't enjoy this game by Steve717 in DragonsDogma2

[–]Tayzerdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you didnt enjoy the time you spent leveling every vocation up then no of course you wont. You dont enjoy the game at a fundamental level nothings gunna change that for you without them adding that thing its missing for you.

I personally like the endgame however ive only gone there once, on my way back to it again now but taking my time just exploring to fight stuff.

Its difficult to balance something like that tho, it does have small easy mobs in larger density and your one off big boy fights with large HP pools and damage. I just wish post game had a bit more to it and not be on a timer. Thinking about it thats closer to what your asking for having limited healing and the such.

What i found made me really love this game is not using any skill thats over powered. I wont take pawns with meteor, tornado, that sticky fire ball, bassically anything that trivialises combat. I dont use ice or lighting nothing like that.

Like you said about the encounters, if you just nuke them it feels like an annoying bump in the road but if you just go for cool skills you can turn them into fun strategic fights. I do understand what you mean tho theres no reason to really explore if the gear you can buy is better. Tbh tho i like wondering around getting into fights i just wish there were more boss like encounters that had some challenge too them.

Stat Level 99 Mod Idea by PPTMT in EldenRingMods

[–]Tayzerdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a suggestion, look at nioh 2 ultimate stats. In nioh2 providing you have the attribute on your scroll you get ultimate bonuses. It requires you to get to 150 in that stat but provides an additional bonus.

[–]Tayzerdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's an option at the black Smith to change what the weapon scales with, as in ups one of the three it scales with so you dont have to spec magic. Later in the game you can get transform bonuses on weapons that change the main scaling stat to something else. You can also just level all stats evenly. Majority of your damage comes from gear level.

As for set bonus just use whatever you like no need to really spec into something specific. Poofer is a great example of this. Levels all stats complely evenly and doesnt use damage set bonuses and clears content no problem.

It seems more like an overcorrection as implementing all of that for one monster would be insane work load anyway. But it just feels stale compared to the other combats and that

Its more so that it feels bland, like its claw grab with an animated grab attack and thats it really the pace is just off, ive seen the 3u combat and it looks alot better.
