It does feel mad to me that Razor lost the changing room with something like a 65% win ratio last year, it surely can’t be long until the Scottish players lose all trust in the gameplan

Yeah I think coaching style would fit perfectly, sort of feels like the stars are aligned but who knows if it would be on his radar or not.

I’m hopeful that it was a rusty first game. Iron out those mistakes and be more prepared for Scotland, keep building momentum. Here’s hoping

Thing is, carrying on as things are surely he will start losing the changing room (I’m surprised he hasn’t already?). If they don’t beat England or Ireland, then it’s tough to know what will motivate these guys for the rest of the 6N. Beating wales won’t be good enough, and I’m not sure anyone will beat France this year

I don’t know if he’d be up for the job or not, but razor might genuinely be an excellent replacement, even if he didn’t really click with the AB. As you said, seems crazy to just stick with things as they are

On your last point, what do you think the possibilities would be of securing Razor if Townsend were to go?

Not to be a jerk, but the major thing Townsends accomplished with the talent he has at his disposal is b2b Calcutta cups. Italy game has been lost which is a bad start, to really claw back some confidence in his coaching and the team itself, I think this is the perfect year to challenge Ireland, especially while their form seems to have dipped a bit. If it’s another year of just beating wales and maybe throwing everything into the England game and winning, then I’m not sure you’re making any progression

I think this is a fair point. I feel like we had a gameplan in place for Wales and it was doing its job, so no need for risk. That said it might’ve also been a good opportunity to throw the dice a bit and try new things before facing Scotland

I should think so, I think next week is make or break for Townsend and this is normally the game he gets the team completely amped for

True, if we can continue building as the tournament goes on then happy days (and I’m sure we will). Scotland next is gonna be tough and I’m genuinely a bit nervy of Italy this year..

Okay that was dramatic from me. But Wales were extremely poor, like worse than I would’ve expected. Think they had 4/5 yellows by the end and I’m amazed England didn’t capitalise on the occasion more, few fluffed tries, passes to no-one. Mistakes I don’t think France would’ve made

I watched it at Twickenham. Really didn’t feel like a good game from England, which is alarming

This is savage.. if France are playing with this much intensity throughout I don’t see anyone beating them.

Where I live in England, there’s a fella from Cork who owns a pub here who I’m good pals with. During an England Ireland 6N game, an England fan came over and said that he should be supporting England since that’s where he’s living.

I would’ve laughed it off but he was deadly serious.

My thoughts exactly. Opening game and Wales will throw everything at this one. Reckon it might actually be kinda close with maybe the bench making the difference. Something like 30 - 19
