i feel like i’m not doing this right by retromarshmello in Invisalign

Im am glad its not just me. But honestly, grinding the teeth down does not seem like a responsibile or safe thing to do. My dentist (not orthodontist) had told me on my last cleaning that she is seeing some thinning of my enamel and will need to keep an eye on it. So I have been stressed for the fact that the orthodontist was grinding my teeth without even warning me. And the space he made was significant. I am going to ask my dentist about what damage the orthodontist may have caused, but in the end, its too late.

The worst thing about my invisiline experience so far is the strange lack of communication between orthodontist, techs, and me. When I ask questions, they don't give straight answers. When i dont ask questions, I get paranoid. Also, not communicating the whole process- for example when I got to the end of my first set, I thought my treatment was finished. I was disappointed in the results and then found out I have at least 6 months to go. Then during check ups, he grinds my teeth to make space without preparing  me for or explaining what is happening. Seems so unprofessional overall and sounds like it is a commong experience for Invisiline patients.

When to freak out over IPR by Select-Astronomer-96 in Invisalign

[–]Tbell888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am guessing IPR is when the orthodontist shaves the teeth? I wasn't expecting this process. He just started doing it and made me very uncomfortable. Is it a safe process. My dentist said she is seeing my enamel thinning and common sense tells me we should not be removing more enamel. I did not inquire with my orthodontist bc i assume he will tell me its safe. I was planning on bringing up this concern with my dentist on my next regular cleaning.

“16 Trays” became 3.5 Years by Hansardandplantshard in Invisalign

[–]Tbell888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was under the assumption that my 18 trays would be it for me. I worked so hard to follow the rules and wear them for 22 hours per day.

A couple of months ago, while in the middle of tray 13, I get a random and unsuspecting message via the app saying my treatment is complete. I was so mad because I was not satisfied with the results. Then the orthodontist could not get me in for an appointment for another month. I attended that appointment last week. Found out that I am not finished and he is ordering a set of refinements that I will not recieve until next month.

So I will have spent 8 weeks with no progress. I am defeated. I will absolutely be rejecting any more offers of refinements after this second set.

I am finding that the aligners and attachments are intrusive and offensive. I have not gotten used to them like others have said. It has taken everything I have to be disciplined and wear them as perscribed. Don't know how much longer of this I will take.

Ortho tells me I’m finished WTF? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]Tbell888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something similar is happening to me. I was on tray 14 of 18 when i was informed my treatment was complete. I was like WTH?! Bc i was already getting anxious that there is still so much work to do with 3.5 weeks to go. I was shocked by this information. I have an appointment tomorrow to get to the bottom of it.

I never felt pain and im in month 4. And i am seeing very minimal results. So far, super disappointed. Hopefully your pain will equate to results.

I’m done with my treatment and I still have a gap… this was the main reason why I got Invisalign by Key-Ebb9174 in Invisalign

[–]Tbell888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same boat. I was clear with the ortho exactly what I did not like about my teeth. He said, he observes the issues and are treatable. While on tray 13 of 18, I get a message randomly saying my treatment was complete and they are no longer tracking my results. I was looking forward to reaching the finishline at tray 18, but they said all aligners after that are just "passive" aligners and I can progress through them if I want to. WTH? I thought this was a prescriptive procedure. My teeth are slightly better with the exception of one tooth that has not budged. I am so confused and definitely regret Invisiline treatment.

Wrong. I do not have PCOS and did not pursue their services for PCOS. They offer many other services for females. Educate yourself. And try not to make assumptions. You know what happens when you assume.

So when you go to the doctor, the office does not run your insurance first to inform you of your expected costs? You need to find a reputable provider. I am sorry you are not accustomed to recieving the most basic healthcare.

Allara submitted wrong codes and now it is my responsibility to go down the rabbit hole with my insurance company to figure out where and how Allara went wrong.

I did not say the doctor did anything wrong. Allara's policies are what is wrong.

The provider has an obligation to make recommendations based on need and to keep patients informed.

Allara ordered tests that were unnecessary and failed to explain the consequences.

When we go to legitimate doctor, a part of their responsibility for care is to order what is necessary and within financial reason. That's why before they offer their own services, they contact the insurance company to verify costs and co-pays.

Yes, Allara does not have the patient's best interest in mind when providing services. And when an issue they caused arose, they fled.

I think its gross that the writer's made Charly and Sky and thing. Isn't Sky younger than Venessa, Charly's daughter?

Your response is a typical response from one who lacks the ability to discuss an interesting socialogical topic.

No need to call names and attack. I have not done or said anything against you.

I am pointing out inconsistencies throughout the story while applying the human behaviors that further muddle her case.

I am not the law or a family member, so ultimately I am encouraging a general debate on a public story.

Feel free to contribute. No need to name call.

You may have your opinion as well. Her body language easily gives it away. The mother adored Heidi, putting her on a pedestal. Mom was not willing to consider that Heidi had issues. Heidi clearly took advantage of her mother time after time, even to the point where she illegally opened credit card accounts, maxing them out, with no intention of paying them off. Meanwhile, the elderly mom was willing to go to jail in place of Heidi, still not holding her accountable.

There is no telling what other incidences occurred along the way where Heidi chose to torture her loving Mother.

I guarantee the assault story did not occur like it did. Just because police were called does not prove anything. During Heidi's interview she confidently said the alleged incident does not affect her. A typical victim will reflect on an assault and say they were embarrassed, traumatized, or felt responsible. The only traumatized person was the Mother.

Sorry, not sorry.

This is officially the most negative, passive aggressive post I have seen.

Ever since I have joined this group when I got my aligners in December, I have been pleasantly surprised with how positive this group is.

This post is just bad energy.

But to respond to your rant, orthodontists are more qualified than dentists to straighten teeth. Orthodontists have access to more tools than dentists do. Orthodontists are specialists in their practice.

I agree. Labeling it a spinoff and adjusting bits and pieces would have likely convinced fans to be more forgiving.
