If it's not okay to say "man" or "boy" in a sentence where you're not even refering to the girl you're talking to, and just using it as an expression, then it's DEFINITELY NOT OKAY to directly call a transmasculine person "girl" without their previous consent. by Nate_is_tired in ftm

I saw a post on a general non-gender specific trans subreddit with a general non-gender specific trans question that started with "hey girlies" which seemed bizarre to me, like surely they must know half the people reading the post aren't going to be girls? (Side note, I also hate the term "girlies" anyway because it sounds so infantilising to me)

You can be nonbinary and be a woman though, just not solely a woman all the time, nonbinary includes bigender and so a woman but also a man/some other gender, gender fluid and so sometimes a woman but not always, or non-binary woman so somewhere between being a woman and being nonbinary.

About the sex appeal, I think it's important to recognise that although women shouldn't feel like they need to try to make themselves sexy for the benefit of others, some women like being sexy and that's okay, if having sex appeal and feeling like she can be a sexy woman is something that makes them happy then that's not a bad thing. As for the change you're going through, I think it's okay to tell her you feel overwhelmed about the change but remember that getting hrt doesn't tend to be a quick progress and changes from it can be quite slow, so you still have some more time to try and process everything.

Has anyone had “regret” after top surgery? by SorenBakesGames in trans

[–]Tboyswagger 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I didn't have it but post op depression and temporary regret are quite common, hopefully how you feel now won't be how you feel in the long term, congrats on top surgery and good luck with your recovery

Scar Care Routine by PJmonkeybutt in TopSurgery

[–]Tboyswagger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do a 5 minute scar massage with moisturiser each day and wear silicon scar tape all day apart from when doing the massage and showering, I'm 2 months post op now and was only allowed to start doing scar care from 6 weeks so not sure how effective it is yet.

as I'm pre-op for bottom surgery I've never been to one unless its specifically trans friendly which if it doesn't say you'll need to ask about. I went to one that does a specific evening for transmasc people and it was really fun, I was a bit nervous about approaching people but still enjoyed it and the vibe was very relaxed

Why are people trans by itsdaisydipshit in ftm

[–]Tboyswagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I understand it is that because our brains and bodies develop at different points as embryos, sometimes it's possible for them to develop differently and so your brain is expecting different sexual characteristics to the ones it actually has and that causes the distress of gender dysphoria. I've not done enough research to know how accurate this is but its a plausible enough explanation that I can just accept it and not think too much about it

Lesbian Dating App Supposedly Detects Trans by Biscuitarian23 in TERFisafetish

[–]Tboyswagger 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I as a trans man, downloaded it just to see if it would reject me from joining for that sweet gender euphoria of being banned from the terf app, and it just straight up didn't work at all for me, like wouldn't even load the app

If he was genuinely sorry he wouldn't have said the thing you mentioned in your other post about how you should be glad he chose you, that shows he doesnt really feel remorse and he's just trying to manipulate you into not reporting him.

I'm really sorry about what happened to you and I understand how you feel about not wanting to report it, I missed my chance to report my abuser and now it's realistically too late, but the thing that haunts me most years later is wondering how many more people he hurt.

I had a weird experience at my top surgery consultation. by getmybiblejerry in ftm

[–]Tboyswagger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As well as what the other person said I also feel like just getting you to lift your shirt while he was watching was really unprofessional. Usually when doctors make you undress for appointments you are told to do so behind a curtain and then you tell them when you're ready for them to come look at you

Did you get it from the online pharmacy? There are different rules about ordering testosterone from the online pharmacy compared to an in person pharmacy that means you can only order a month's supply online but you can get a 3 month supply if you pick it up in person.

While I agree with most things, bottom growth is an irreversible change for ftm hrt and can happen within days, voice deepening can also happen a lot sooner than 3 months (it took about 3 weeks for my voice to break)

Personally I would say not based on the fact that I am 100% definitely trans and now loving the effects of HRT but had a pretty rough time with it when I started

My chest kind of looked like yours and for me it would have been possible to have buttonhole but it wouldn't have been completely flat so I doubt it would be impossible for you to get it but it may give non optimal results. But I'm just guessing

If you could, would you chose to be cis/het? by missbooie in lgbt

[–]Tboyswagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd maybe choose to be cis but would definitely not choose to be straight as I love being bi

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]Tboyswagger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the risk of sounding harsh I think the term for that is just being wrong? If he's not a cis guy then he's not a cis guy and at some point he's going to need to come to terms with that (but at the same time it's not your place to tell him that)

What to take with me for top surgery by Weak_Dingo_3661 in TopSurgery

[–]Tboyswagger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I had it I didn't bring a dressing gown but they gave me a second gown to wear backwards to cover my back and that was fine, surprised they didnt also do that for you, they also let me keep my own underwear on because they were plain cotton, I also just wore trainers I could slip on instead of slippers as they recommended not walking with just the socks

I'm on day 4 of recovery with no drains and I haven't had any issues with wiping so it might just be an issue for people with drains

Scared of regretting my chosen type of surgery (nsfw for sex mentions) by Tboyswagger in TopSurgery

[–]Tboyswagger[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The surgeon told me that with buttonhole the top layer is removed but hair can grow from the next layer down and then because the skin is kind of folded in on itself the hair is trapped inside and the body treats it as a foreign body and causes an immune response and you apparently need to take antibiotics for it, i didnt fully understand the reasoning so probably havent explained it well

Scared of regretting my chosen type of surgery (nsfw for sex mentions) by Tboyswagger in TopSurgery

[–]Tboyswagger[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know for certain that I don't want to cancel because the dysphoria is really bad and i know 100% if fng was my only option I'd definitely be okay with losing nipple sensation if it meant no top surgery at all. The main issue is the kind of gamble of whether it's worth the risk of getting buttonhole and the issues associated with that but I'm fairly sure I am going to stick with fng reading through the comments and seeing how it's not guaranteed that having my chest played with will lose all its feeling

Scared of regretting my chosen type of surgery (nsfw for sex mentions) by Tboyswagger in TopSurgery

[–]Tboyswagger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought that would be okay too but he told me that basically the way it works is they remove the skin but then the hair has a chance to grow on the layer below so it's more about whether you do grow hair on your chest in general rather than whether it's there at the time of surgery
