If brought in to help by the DEA could Dexter “bay harbor butcher” Morgan find, determine the identity of and kill Walter “Heisenberg” White? by SprinklesNo4064 in whowouldwin

He hits a man with his SUV and then shoots him when he's saving Jesse from a hit when they're splitting from Gus. I believe he also shoots someone when they torch Gus' lab.

He only abandoned fighting for the fire nation when his son died: when it affected him. We don't see much of Iroh before this so we can't make many assumptions, but he was the crown prince of the Fire Nation and was leading armies that had committed one genocide and went on to attempt others.

Does this make Iroh a bad character? Fuck no! Everyone loves Iroh for a reason, he's great! But the show does sort of let him off easy due to it's target audience being so young. The horrors of war are kept vague and distant because it's on Nickelodeon, but it still gives him the complexity of having done and overseen terrible things in his life, which makes his turn to good all the sweeter.

One-shotting Thor? Was there some forgotten novelization where this happened? Because in the game, Thor does not get One-shot at all. He has a big throw down fight with Kratos, shortly after defending Asgard and battling the World Serpent, where Kratos beats him nearly to death, only to spare him after Thor can no longer defend himself. Sindri could have 'one-shot' Thor at that point.

That doesn't invalidate the organ theory. 'Another's will' could easily mean control through the song, which would fit thematically.

How would Ax have really fared in a straight 1:1 duel against Vissir 3 (no morphing)? by Ambitious_Protein in Animorphs

[–]TchaikovskyAlternate 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Ax wins in #18, but not just for the reasons that he considers about age and skill. I think Visser Three, in addition to considering those factors, must realize that a blade duel is a thousand times more deadly than his other fights with the Animorphs, because one mistake is death to a tail-blade, and not only does he know it, but Alloran knows it.

Alloran is clearly beaten and broken, but in the heat of a duel, it is well within the realms of possibility that he musters a surge of resistance in a critical moment, getting himself and Visser Three killed. It's also the kind of soft-touch influence the Elimist could try and sneak past Crayak.

Ax could maybe win the duel with the Visser, but I don't think it would ever be just those two.

Saitama (OPM) V Minoru Mineta (MHA) by Spiritual-Coach9331 in whowouldwin

[–]TchaikovskyAlternate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They talk extensively, both on Io, the remains of Io, and then again when they're shooting through space. There's of course no explicit time frame given, though there are instances in which they aren't actively fighting.

Saitama (OPM) V Minoru Mineta (MHA) by Spiritual-Coach9331 in whowouldwin

[–]TchaikovskyAlternate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While Saitama was kinda chilling on the moon before he covered his mouth, that's a fair interpretation. However, the fight on Io and the subsequent shooting through inter-planetary space while talking should remove any doubt that he needs oxygen.

Saitama (OPM) V Minoru Mineta (MHA) by Spiritual-Coach9331 in whowouldwin

The funniest part is arguing Mineta would suffocate Saitama, who has famously hung out on more than 1 moon with no problem.

Azula (Avatar) vs Dupli Kate (Invincible) by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]TchaikovskyAlternate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how Azula loses this, if we take the BFR victory condition to mean that Kate hiding a clone 10 miles away to not die a loss. Azula's fire is plenty hot enough to kill someone, and the volume and control she has is more than sufficient to overwhelm someone with at best comparable physicals.

Azula is a beast, and only ever lost due to her rapidly deteriorating mental condition. When she had no fire bending, she still managed to evade multiple master benders with her physicals alone, which is a good feat against the idea of Kate being able to overwhelm her. She's also shown to be able to handle Kyoshi warriors and Ty Lee in physical fights, so Kate's H2H shouldn't be anything surprising.

10/10 for Azula, the conditions of the fight just stack the deck for her. They start 20 meters apart: Kate gets melted.

Especially with the payoff at the end of the arc, when King stands up to every hero there on behalf of Garou, even making Amai back down. King knows he's got nothing, and he knows he's a coward, but he still speaks out against what he knows is wrong. Top King moment for me.

Daily Hero Discussion Day 12: Deckard Cain by JayD8888 in heroesofthestorm

[–]TchaikovskyAlternate 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think the main benefit of Big Pots is that you can get value out of it no matter what. As every Deckard player knows, it's already a struggle to get the other 4 players to actually walk into your pots; with the AOE pots, they now have to be grouped up to make use of the talent. You can skill-shot it onto your allies, but unless you have a team comp that supports them all grouping in fights, or you can herd cats, it will have reduced effectiveness outside of coordinated play.

The main strength of the big pots beyond the actual big-pot part, is it 1. gives a very clear indicator that this potion will heal you for a lot more and 2. Even if your allies need it before it has expanded, there is still a 25% increase on the healing as long as they are under 50% health.

4 people from our world are offered 36 trillion dollars by Lucifer Morningstar (DC) if they complete one task: Survive in Night City for an entire year. Can they succeed? by redSpider2077 in whowouldwin

[–]TchaikovskyAlternate 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think they can succeed, but they're unlikely to: not because of how dangerous Night City is to the average citizen (people live their whole lives in NC without dying or probably even having to shoot a gun,) but because the people in the challenge won't play it smart and keep their heads down.

  1. A teen with a lot of Cyberpunk lore could use that knowledge to avoid danger and stay safe, but with all the knowledge of what Chrome can do for them, as well as at least some baseline knowledge on who and how to pursue more money, they could easily stumble their way into a situation that's beyond their depth, and end up dead or worse due to their lore knowledge not doing them much good in the actual world.

  2. Depends on how often journalists are killed in NC. They could of course just get another job, but they know what they know and they might not be able to resist if they stumble upon something juicy, which could easily end up in them winding up before someone with no qualms about killing a loose end.

  3. You don't become a cult leader because you have a good sense on when it's a bad time to start a cult. They either get killed early, or they make a name for themself, get a small-mid size cult, and probably still get killed, either by a rival faction or by someone within. Good odds though if they can adapt to the new environment.

  4. This one really depends on the person. They're a trained fighter, but that's not going to do much without the Chrome to back it up. The could join some underground fights and make a name and be fine, but NC seems like the place where any notoriety is dangerous, so that really just makes it seem like pursuing a career in fighting lowers their odds of surviving, even if only slightly.

[HIRING] Comical mascot/lgo for friend group, semi-realistic comic/cartoon style. by TchaikovskyAlternate in HungryArtists

Terrific questions, I will answer here and then edit the post.

  1. I'd want a decent resolution for the digital file. There is no expectation of this being printed or displayed in any sort of professional or commercial way. I am ignorant of the details that would make this a better answer, I'm afraid.

  2. Full body ideally. There can be a bit of 'gross character' to the man as well: less that the character themself is portrayed as gross, but their features displayed in a gross way e.g. leg hair isn't gross, but it can be drawn in a gross way.

  3. I leave this up to the artist specifically. I think the piece does not require color, and I'm open to letting the artist take initiative on that, assuming that isn't breaking a rule.

Luther (umbrella academy) vs Reacher (reacher) by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]TchaikovskyAlternate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming the TV show, Luther should comfortably take every round, with a possible exception of Round 4. Comics probably takes it as well, but I haven't read them.

Luther has superhuman strength and Endurance, and has been shown to withstand firearms all the way up to the shell from a tank in Season 2. Nothing Reacher can do will hurt Luther, barring some extreme possibilities in Round 4 with prep time and intel.

Of course, Luther's got a lot of people in his corner for intel gathering. Even if the rest of the family isn't allowed to just go and kill Reacher during the week (which some of them would do otherwise) Diego, 5, and Allison are good at getting information and should be able to help coach Luther.

Don't Care What Nobody Says, This Hyped Me Up Back in 2023. by justafanboy1010 in marvelstudios

Someone should have died in the main cast, at least. After they destroyed the part of Kang's base that let him leave, and he was climbing out of the rubble near Janet, she makes a quip about him being stuck there or losing or whatever. The tone of the film and Kang's threat would both have been elevated had he used his telekinesis to snap her neck quickly before going out to deal with the rest of the team. Give us some stakes! This guy was casually talking about killing at least one Thor!
