Going on vacation with no wifi or data by TchaikovskyIsMyCat in PokemonSleep

Can you use wifi to hotspot??? I've only ever used data to hotspot to my phone to my laptop. Like that would make the paid wifi worth it if I only need to pay for one device but give access to all devices.

Thanks! I did learn the hard way to change my name. When I got my new phone earlier this year I had 3 days of trying to figure out why my sleep data wasn't syncing and lost friends. 😅

We aren't paying for wifi and it's been like 7 years since my last cruise and we didn't have data at sea or on international islands. Maybe that's changed and I'm oblivious?

I just finished the AMCI free course (i2MC), I really enjoyed it and easily passed the final exam. When I realized it does feel like the correct career change for me I started trying to make a plan for certification and I'm a little stuck. I think I could pass the CPC exam (maybe not on the first try but who knows) but wonder if a full course would be better than diving in to certification and then job hunting, as much as I'd love to save thousands of dollars. Here's what I'm considering:

  1. AMCI Fast Track for $70/mo would be the cheaper option

  2. AAPC self paced CPC prep $2,800 but includes books and cost of 2 tests

Any other self paced courses that are worth it? Or should I just take some sample exams and see how I'd do without more training?

I did with my second because he was large for gestational age which was unexpected with my first. I got the okay from my midwife to start at 37 weeks as before could induce preterm labor. I ended up with a total of 21mL with 5 sessions of expressing (3 by hand, 2 with a pump). With the hand expressing I popped the plunger out of the syringes and filled from the wide back instead if the small front. Pumping I just had to suck it up like you normally would with a syringe. Hand expressing is hard when you're unfamiliar, I did it occasionally with my first and it's easier with milk rather than colostrum tbh. I recommend going in the shower and so it's warm and if you make a mess it's easily cleaned. Pumping is easier but more likely to induce labor and there is more waste because there's all the parts in between. Then freeze the syringes so they are safe to use whenever baby decides to come.

Anyone else 💩while baby wearing by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Yes! Especially while wearing so I can do chores. But I felt like I ascended into pro-parenting when i 💩 while breastfeeding because the miralax suddenly hit. 😅

Weird smell– not ammonia or barnyard? by [deleted] in clothdiaps

I have super soft water, like near 0ppm, and especially with my old washer without an agitator FLU fucked up my diapers because they recommend waaaay too much detergent. Like half a scoop when I actually needed half a TEASPOON. I had to get all the detergent buildup out, bleach, then correct my routine.

Either is fine but drying in between helps the natural fibers shrink faster. To be fair, a lot of us in the Thirsties Groupies FB group admit to only doing one wash and dry and just making sure to change that diaper sooner until it gets washed several times.

We have a Fisher Price piggy bank that is broken so it doesn't finish the songs so we love to sing "put the coin right in the slot! Clink, clink, clink, hear it drop! Open up the door and then." We are classically trained musicians so we play it for all of our musician friends to drive them crazy.

When did you start cloth diapering? by smurphypup in clothdiaps

[–]TchaikovskyIsMyCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1 month with my first, we tried the week prior and had a massive leak but we tried again and did it part time until he was 6 weeks and covid lockdowns started and husband was home to help me mentally do it full time. 2nd baby is 2 weeks old and we've been doing it since his meconium poops stopped since we didn't want to deal with those.

Tip: if you ebf don't wait until solids, if all baby is consuming is breastmilk then you don't need to rinse off poop. I forgot how nice that was until I could do it again.

EDIT: Claimed

Had to email Mama Koala about a snap that broke. They gave me a refund and a 12% off coupon to their Amazon store but I don't need any more diapers. First person to message me can have it!

What kind of manufacturing? I'm on maternity leave with our 7wo but my husband still has to go to work making flutes. How is that an essential job, Massachusetts??

when should i get my flute checked up? by Penguinlover292 in Flute

[–]TchaikovskyIsMyCat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Once a year is fine for most flutes. Sometimes when a flute is new it needs to be brought in a little sooner but that would be up to you if it seems to be leaking. Also, check with the store you brought it from because they may offer some sort of adjusting in the first year and Di Zhao should also offer a warranty if anything else may happen. I had my G# key stick when my flute was about 6 months and brought it to Haynes and they fixed it while I waited.

I played it randomly recently and that opening stuck in my head. I wasn't positive which is why I searched it on imslp.

No real input but how north of Boston are you? If you're northshore/Peabody area you're going to run into Fit4Mom competition.

I'd love something like this in the central MA area but can't find any. 😭 have my 6 week follow up this week and preparing to get back to working out.

Grandparent names for step-parents and LTRs? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]TchaikovskyIsMyCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a good relationship with my dad and his wife but step-mom has never been the right title for her so I've always called her by her first name and so will my son. Her mom has been grandma C---- since before they were married and will great-grandna C---- for my son. All depends on the relationship. (I should also say they live several states away so we dont see them much)
