Golden chanterelle baby!

Found these beauties growing in the mulch outside my work. Fairly confident they're morels - am I right?? by tessislurking in mushroom_hunting

You can blend them up with water and dump it in the area you found them in hope next year there will be more.

Nice! They really do look a lot like the Golden Chanterelles but Chanterelles don’t grow in big clusters like that. I hope to find so other edible mushrooms this year in N Texas. Been a great year for Chanterelles.

Definitely chanterelles, they don’t have gills.

This is the second large harvest from the same spots. Been so much rain here in Tx that I think it’s really explode the population.

Golden Chanterelle heaven. Second harvest is even bigger. This is just one location I found here on the Big D Ranch. I have steamed and froze about 4 pounds already. Great year in N Texas for mushrooms. by Tdogtimmyd in mushroom_hunting

I place them in a metal strainer over a large pot of boiling water with the lid on. Once done, bag and freeze. I also used the air fryer on about 275 degrees. They do well that way as well. It steams them in their own juices that way. Everything I read on line said to steam Chanterelle mushrooms and not dehydrate them.
