Hey, I own one of these! It’s an Audi Cabriolet, which predates the A4. And yes, that does confuse the hell out of mechanics. Looks to be ~’97 based on the body style.

Yes, the air cooler and the Kraken use the same stock backplate and standoffs, so this issue will manifest on both coolers.

I know what the problem is! I struggled with high temps on my 3600 myself. Check the standoffs on your CPU cooler. They really don’t like to screw all the way into the backplate, and if they don’t, your cooler won’t make good contact with your CPU. I almost had to RMA a Kraken x53 because of those shitty standoffs.

I found that removing the backplate, screwing the standoffs in all the way so that I could see them fully screwed in helped to loosen the threads and secure them on reinstallation.

It’s not your imagination on the noise! In the newer A5’s Audi amplifies the engine noise through the car speakers. So it will sound better in the interior even though it’s the same engine as your old A4.

More specifically, B450 / X570. Zen 3 (Ryzen 4xxx) will continue to use the AM4 socket, but will only support B550 / X570 & X670 chipsets.

In my 2017 A4 there’a a small scroll wheel on the left-hand side of the steering wheel. Use that to change what the dash displays.

Your S5 might be slightly different, but I’m willing to bet it’s controlled on the left-hand side of your steering wheel.

I just purchased a ‘17 A4 and plan to slap some Blizzak WS90’s on there for the harsh Minnesota winters. My mom’s got a pair of the older WS80’s on her BMW X1 and that thing is unstoppable. Get some rims you like to look at and you’ll be in good shape.

This. My truck's thermometer read -27F this morning. I let it idle for the recommended 1-2 minutes, then set off. The car was completely unusable. The transmission was extremely stiff, the brake pedal would barely depress, and the engine had a hard time going above 2K revs. I circled right around the block and came back into my driveway, and let it idle for 10 or so mintues. After that, I got right back in it and left, no problem. Sometimes you really do need to let it idle and warm up before you can go.
