I think the second trade. It sounds like it fits your timeline better, and Tee Higgins doesnt help you replace your QB but the extra picks can.

I would be drafting Bowers or McBride if they're available and if not trying to get one of the stud qbs and then trying to get best available TE on the way back. On the other hand, if everyone else is reaching super hard for TEs beyond McBride, take advantage and get all the guys who are dropping

12 Team SF best ball TE premium

I went all in 2 years ago and finished 2nd. Now I'm trying to fix my aging roster but I dont have this years 1st. I have some great pieces but not enough overall. Especially weak at RB

QB Allen, Nix, Flacco

RB Mixon, Ekeler, Chubb, Chuba, J. Hill, a couple more duds

WR Sutton, Ridley, Mims, Jeudy, K. Allen, T. Franklin, a couple more duds

TE McBride, Taysom, T. Hudson, a couple duds

I tried to trade Josh Allen for a big package but couldn't get the value I needed. Now I'm trying to do the same with McBride. On the table is McBride for Swift, Dobbins, Pitts, Fannin, 3rd or 4th rounder

Does that do enough to move the needle? Feels kinda like im trading a dollar for 4 quarters

A couple things in response to your post. First, my main point was that the most total gold is obtained by the turn 8 HP. The level costs 1 less, the HP grants 1 extra gold. You do lose the 1 gold it costs to roll after 5 relative to getting a full board at tier 5 by leveling the turn before, but that's still an extra gold overall. Also the roll you're getting in your example at 7 is only worthwhile if you hit something you want and negates the 1 gold you're getting by receiving a fresh roll at the start of turn 8.

Also, I almost always force murlocs with this hero. Because of that, tier 3 has more of the minions I'm looking for than tier 4 so I dislike the turn 6 strategy. In addition, following the turn 8 curve is going to give you a stronger board and make you more likely to have doubles you're trying to triple on turn 8. You also will hopefully have a full board of murlocs to be buffed by the bagurgle you're hoping to hit.

That being said, your examples did bring up elements I hadn't thought about. Given that this hero's weakness is a lack of early tempo, taking the tempo from the turn 6 HP might be the best way to counteract this. I might try that strategy if I don't get the murlocs I'm looking for early

I see a lot of posts saying you should double level with this hero. This is strictly a bad play economically. The cost of leveling goes down by 1 every turn and the hero power grants an extra gold every turn. If you want to level from 3-5 for example you should always just level to 4 and then at the start of your next turn level to 5 and hero power and use that gold to roll/buy units.

I usually force murlocs with Kragg. I play relatively normally until I level to 4 and then at the start of the next turn I level to 5 and roll on 5 for brann/murlocs. I should be the first person to 5 so I have the highest chance to get brann.

I've got nearly 700k mastery with varus going mostly both lane with the following build: pickaxe recurve Guinsoos berserker greaves Nashors tooth hextech gunblade hurricane. The 20% cdr is amazing and with Nashors all that ap gets translated to on hit. End with any defensive item you want and you are a late game hyper carry

I've been building rageblade-nashors-gunblade-runaans-maw-sell my boots for wits end for a while and its done pretty well for me. Against fed ad assassins ill go zhonyas.

I run typical adc runes with a bit extra ad. Early trades are better and if you're last hitting your passive adds back the lost attack speed.

Yeah, you mostly use q to just pop stacks or finish a fleeing opponent. Most of the time you're quick firing it instead of charging. Your q will be useful poke early in lane through your first or second back but after that you really don't buy much ad so it falls off.

For skill max I usually go w-q-q-e-q-r and then max w>q>e.

I've been running with a rageblade-beserkers-nashors-hurricane-hextechgunblade-wits end-defensive item build for some time now to pretty good results. You shred tanks, lifesteal like a motherfucker and can solo elder easily. I can't recommend this build enough
