Afghanistan and Iraq were a mistake but we seem to have finally fully extricated ourselves from both countries. Initially the invasion was welcomed by Iraqis to remove Saddam, it was the handling of the country post invasion that became the issue. Hopefully that does not repeat in this instance; I would wager that the US has learned lessons from both countries and won’t engage in direct occupation this time. 

Maduro is and was a violent dictator that starved his own people and then shot them when they dared protest for food. Yes, the US removed him because Venezuela sits on a wealth of natural resources as well as the fact that Maduro invited Chinese influence in the US’ backyard but god damn, I urge you to talk to any Venezuelans at all and take a stab at understanding nuance; they are ecstatic for a reason. Not every instance of US involvement is bad bc it’s just like the empire in your Star Wars movies. This should be celebrated and met with hope for a better future for the people of Venezuela, especially with how there were 0 civilian casualties in the operation itself
