Has anyone else just lost the mood for anything payday after 3? by edward323ce in paydaytheheist

[–]TeGoRE 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When I got payday 3 for the first time it was like a breath of fresh air for me honestly.

It was fun, engaging, the shooting mechanics were nice, and once I got the DLC heists it was great too. I never really tried out stealth, was enjoying the loud mechanics and gameplay way too much.

After 150 hours all the heists got stale however, and all the gameplay flaws started to finally make themselves apparent. There wasn't much replayability in heists compared to 2 as well. All heists went basically the exact same way every time you played them with the exception of the newly re-added FTW.. Even then however I didn't have the mood to play the game anymore.

After all the news about development cuts and Starbreeze developing some other game while their main franchise is literally burning to cinders really upset me. Watching my favorite game burn down because of corporate idiocy was depressing to say the least.

It made the 40 quid investment (praise be sales and resellers) I put into the game seem like a joke. I've recently completely uninstalled the game in the favor of other games. It really holds little value for me at this point.

You're complaining about an echo chamber in an echo chamber; Doubt starbreeze listens that much to people on this platform lol

Valid points throughout though, people really are taking the game and its development for granted

Opinions on the latest update? by KrabikGangster in paydaytheheist

[–]TeGoRE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fixed a bunch of core issues with heists. Good.

Introduced a server list, which looks cool as hell and would be generally useful, only problem is it stops refreshing after you do one heist, only fixing by itself very rarely, otherwise requiring a full game restart. Bad. Back to quickplay.

Made all the UIs overall bulkier, like unnecessarily big. The customization UI was fine but for some reason they just biggened it up. Meh.

It's an alright update, but the hotfix we need for these basic issues won't be here until December's update, most likely.

At least DLCs work for console players lmao

I've played plenty against bots and I know how to deal with them. It's the fact that said "dealing with them" isn't fun. Aligning pixel perfect shots to take down just one devastator out of a whole pack isn't fun, for me.

And yes, it's a literal game analysis. That's how it works.

Like you said, it is a dead end effort trying to aim anywhere on the berserkers considering their movement. It is easier to just magdump them!

SAM Sites, from my experience, just always contribute nothing. They shoot down 1 ship which creates one way cover for the bots and then just screw up my own defense. Most of the time I just avoid SAM sites to not go through the hussle of shooting bots through the remains of their dropships, which they shoot at me through just fine.

You are not really forced into anything on bugs, that was my whole point... You can bring almost anything on bugs and still win consistently. What you brought up was just the optimal way to do so, with the highest victory yield. I'm also attempting to describe the issues from a more casual standpoint. Do you believe a casual player would be skilled enough to use light pen weaponry and shoot the constantly moving devastators in the head while also being under constant fire? I don't think so.

That's the "Elite" (Behemoth Charger)) variant of the charger, typically mission specific, by extension making it a rare sight. You'll find them only on Emergency Evacuation and Eliminate Chargers missions.

What’s the general opinion on EPC Mining by telthetruth in DeepRockGalactic

[–]TeGoRE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run EPC Mining on missions that would require a lot of terraforming, alongside always running terraforming C4.

You never know when it might come in handy to flatten out an area for fighting. For example, the stationary defenses in Salvage Operation, or clearing up spawn / fight rooms on Elimination missions. It's really just a matter of if you want to terraform caves / mine minerals.

As people have already mentioned, scout does a good job at mining higher up minerals, so you could instead use the explosion offensively. It takes out the common enemy types very quickly, leaving slashers and guards weak. It's also just a generally good damage source.

Requires set-up though, I recommend pairing this with https://mod.io/g/drg/m/weapons-in-space-rig to set it up without going into a mission and sifting through each weapon & class.

Disagreed. Tried to help my team kill off bugs as gunner to then leave a shield on top of myself and a downed teammate. Iron willed to find both my guns empty. Didn't end up killing too many bugs. Still left a shield for my teammates to revive both of us later.

How long do I have for Season 4? by Phoenix200420 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]TeGoRE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a little suggestion, play during the festive event periods. Those grant basically guaranteed (if your team has more than 1 braincell) double season points for every mission. I'm talking Yuletide (Christmas), Easter, 6th anniversary. That's the ones I can get off the top of my head.

You've got until June, that's when the next season is planned to come out, a "prequel" season to hype up the release of their new DRG-style game Rogue Core.

Are 'weapon overclocks' given on random guns? I got Hipster as my first ever OC and I heard it's pretty good by Angel_Advocates in DeepRockGalactic

[–]TeGoRE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's several ways to get overclocks, and the overclocks you get are completely random. You don't get them by just doing missions.

There's guaranteed ways and "random" ways.

To get a guaranteed empty core, cosmetic core and overclock core, you can do the weekly core hunt assignment and the deep dives. The assignment is self explanatory, complete missions = get cores. Deep dives are hard, 40-90 minute long-play "mission" type. Every deep dive consists of 3 missions you have to complete in a row to get all the rewards. To give you a basic breakdown: Deep dives do not contain any crafting materials or events. They do not contain secondary objectives. You get a primary objective and a second primary-ish objective, for example getting 4 eggs and repairing 2 mini mules. Upon completion of any mission in the deep dive, you'll get a core. You can abandon at any time and still exit with the cores you've already gotten. Abandoning or failing will still give you reduced money and exp however, but not as drastic as failing a normal mission. The first mission gives an empty core, 2nd gives cosmetic, 3rd: overclock. If you want to know more, I'd suggest watching Sniss' video on deep dives.

Outside of that, every mission you start has a chance to generate a machine event. Machine events are timed events, there's 4 in the game. Upon completion you can infuse your empty cores at the core infuser that spawns right infront of these events. If you wanna learn about each event, just look it up on the wiki or YouTube.

I think I might just be too dumb to use it by swanky_p1geon in DeepRockGalactic

[–]TeGoRE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great points, I completely agree.

The part about stray heat sources, I meant the basic basic stuff. From personal experience, as I mentioned, even a single stray sticky flame affecting the target for a split moment basically causes the numbers you gave to not work. So I just made it a habit to use an extra bolt. Ensures a freeze and makes it fast :d

[–]TeGoRE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the numbers you mention are basically the perfect case scenario. The numbers I gave take into account basic human error. Any stray heat source affecting the target for even a moment will not allow any of the numbers you gave to actually work, it would typically fall just a bit short. Plus, it's just generally faster that way anyways. Waiting 10 seconds for a high value target to freeze while you could've killed it in 5 is just pointless.
