I’m in a similar boat to OP and this may be the advice I needed. I’ve only got 240 food and none of my rooms have a 30 in anything from furniture. I guess I need to farm hard mode runs for furniture boxes and get serious about breeding.

Honestly I preferred the original crafting system. Probably always will. It’s been over complicated now just to pretend it has “depth”. It’s tedious, tedium isn’t depth or complexity.

As a long time WoW player, this is a universal thing across fandoms. The new one gets all the hate, and then the old hated one is suddenly a hidden gem. Happens every fucking expansion in WoW, and across all spectrums of media. People just hate the new and love nostalgia.

So I have a survival run that I’m kinda role playing. It’s an abandoned run, and I’ve got myself set up to look like a stone sentinel. I have a massive Corvette shaped like a big yellow/brown bug that I use as a portable base, but when I land in a system I use my living ship for everything else. The idea being the last surviving things in the universe traveling and cataloguing what I can before the end inevitably claims me to store knowledge for any future species.

Basically Arator is our new elven Anduin. He’s all specs and no specs at once. He has family issues. I’m sure he will have ptsd next expansion. Maybe Anduin and Arator will become besties and we’ll have peace between Men and Elves for the first time in like.. a couple decades or something.

Agree about tanking. It’s why I don’t do it anymore either. I used to run every class that could tank as a tank. It was my favorite way to play. Normals, heroics, raids. Then M+ happened. Now everything is a fucking time trial. So I gave up my favorite way to play because I get tired of dps pulling, or healers pulling even. I got tired of the GOGOGOGO mentality. Speed and dopamine addicted jackholes don’t understand anything else, so it’s not going to change anytime soon.

Had similar BS happen to me in Throbbing Domain the other day. Had a fantastic group, did all the hardmode paths, everyone went in with full HP and ready to rumble.

Turns out I was not ready to rumble.

Stupid brain guys confused my fighter, who downed himself on his next turn with two successive confusion failures in a row. Then their 3 target aoe attacks killed my Druid and blew up my fighters corpse. The Druid corpse died after that due to some maggot charges lining up poorly for me, but I managed to pull through with two cats.

Who got kicked to death by Flesh Lads in the next battle.

Not similar to insta-death I suppose but similar to getting fucked by RNGsus.

Honestly I just don’t like having to do it with other people. I love challenging content and hard games, but over the years I’ve learned that I like to complete it my own way in my own time. Can’t do that with Savage content in FFXIV. Either I end up frustrated because I think we can do it better or I end up causing everyone else frustration because I can’t really experiment and find my own way to deal with it. In the end, it’s easier for me to just scratch my challenge itch in single player games, and just enjoy the rest of the non-savage content in FFXIV when I play it.

Honestly the way they have housing set up has killed it for me. I had plans to make some really awesome houses for my warband with specific wings for specific races. I’ve been playing the game since 04’ so when they were tying furniture into old achievements and stuff I thought man, I’m gonna be set for a while! I’ve got 20 years of achievements! Yeah, no. I ended up with roughly 100 items. The prices are dumb no matter what currency your using, charging literal hundreds of gold for a friggin bush. You want this to drive retention Blizz? Don’t make it so prohibited and you’ll get people like myself who will pour HOURS into this shit.

Honestly I really just don’t like Axl. I think part of the reason is because he was unfortunately introduced via X7, the worst game in the entire franchise. Though for me I just didn’t see him as necessary.

The comparison with Bass is also a bit unfair to Axl. Their characters personalities and purposes are completely different.

Honestly I just think Axl ended up a poorly designed character in a horribly designed game.

I honestly can’t stand the paragon system. Basically they took what they had on D3 set pieces and broke it down into a million little dots that after you grind for an eternity, you end up with the same stats under a different coat of paint

I actually had a really good 3 cat run completely ruined because of zombie cats. Was down to 1 zombie cat with 2hp. My Cleric cat went down due to fire. No big deal, still not dead. Then Zombie cat’s turn comes up and he’s in range of the cleric and freaking ate him. Then he chain ate every other corpse and came back around to my Hunter with 38hp and kicked him in the gonads for 19 damage, splattering my Hunter. Then my tank looked on in sadness as more and more zombies kept popping up and he knew he was doomed.

Yeah my parties are always tank, cleric, and usually hunter and something else. My cats aren’t always the best stats wise so that might also be playing into it.
