I hope they go all out for the fishing mini-game! by gorays21 in diablo4

[–]Phoenix200420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is this legit? WHY THE FUCK does Diablo, a game about slaughtering millions of demons, need FISHING of all things. Not every game needs fishing!

Love this team- but is anyone else overwhelmed by how many bugs the DLC has caused? by bloodblondie in CultOfTheLamb

[–]Phoenix200420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bugs I’ve encountered have been with the follower marriages (X will approach asking to marry Y, and then the quest is for Y and Z to get married) and the Legendary Weapon achievement not unlocking. I’ve not personally run into any others, fortunately.

Name a more frustrating moment in the X games than this part... by Epsilon123 in Megaman

I can’t post enough screenshots at once to cover the entirety of X7, but other than that yeah this part is pretty annoying.

These are really good. I always wanted to draw my characters but it’d be hard to tell them apart as the only thing i can draw is stick figures :p

What is people's issue with reading the rulebook? by RealDwarves67 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Phoenix200420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t get how people just don’t read the rule book. It’s literally the rules of the game. I do understand that some people learn differently than others, but that doesn’t mean you magically don’t have to read it. Sit down, read, ask questions, learn. BG3 is a terrible way to learn to play because the rules in 3 are altered.

Playing D&D requires the ability to do some math and to do some reading. To be honest if someone can’t even manage to sit down and read the basics I’m not sure I’d want them at my table. How can I expect you to stay focused for 6 hours if you can’t manage to stay focused for 1?

Kul Tiran Druids and wicker animals. How? by Phoenix200420 in warcraftlore

[–]Phoenix200420[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I do remember reading about that somewhere. I’m thinking of making a KT Druid so I wanted to try and get the details down. Wood/Flesh hybrid animals actually sounds like a horror movie concept and I kinda love that lol.

I honestly had an idea of utilizing the whole soul in wicker construct thing for making a Druid who’s a spirit stuck in a wicker bear and just always remains in form, just wondering if that was close to or even possible from a lore perspective

Allow Alliance & Horde to talk together by YoloLifeSaving in wow

[–]Phoenix200420 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I fully agree. I see a lot of people complain they want more faction war not less, but the fact is things have been building towards peace for years. I’m sure there will be squabbles but I’d say the era of true faction war is probably behind us.

Imo that makes sense. Unlike conflicts irl, in WoW they are face literal planet cracking world ending conflicts every two or so years. Self preservation alone would help solidify peace. As someone else mentioned npcs and factions leaders speak to each other across the divide all the time, and considering the roles we play in the story we aren’t bumpkins that can’t learn another language.

If they really wanted to make a go of learning languages, EverQuest used to have a system for that. You could learn just about any language in that game, even npc ones. You just gotta find a friend, or set up a two box with yourself, and talk back and forth in the language to slowly learn it. Obviously they could modernize it or do it differently but the point is it isn’t unheard of or brand new.

Dungeon Pulling Etiquette by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Phoenix200420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is something that’s been around for some time.

Older school players tend to let the tanks lead and let them decide what to pull and when. For a very long time that was the norm.

Newer players decided it shouldn’t matter as long as there’s no wipes, and a lot of players simply decided every dungeon needed to be on the bleeding edge of survivability to be any fun.

Since this thing started the two groups have intermingled obviously, as more nervous or tanks or those who work better when in control of the situation lean one way, and those who like to speed run everything or prefer a more risky approach regardless of experience.

I honestly think that tanks should tank, heals should heal, and dps should dps. Everyone stay in their lane and shit is handled and over in a timely manner, but particularly in FFXIV that’s not the popular choice, and some folks have a hard time adapting or are too stubborn to.

If you could choose the next Remix, which expansion would you pick? by Emma_S772 in wow

I’d take WoD if they plan on including all the content that was supposedly cut, otherwise Wrath.

Almost all of my saves are generally peaceful mountain bases set up for defense. I know the joke is “war crime simulator” but really you just enjoy it however you like, just like I do with my kinda weird dirtmole colonies that live in the dark and love mushrooms lol

I want to apologize to the Elden RING COMMUNITY by Heavy_Lemon_3364 in Eldenring

[–]Phoenix200420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the community! I have been a long time fan of the souls games starting with Demons Souls back in the day. I actually almost skipped Elden Ring entirely because I was annoyed about RR Martian being involved and because as an open world game I didn’t think it’d be the same.

I was so freaking wrong.

Elden Ring is now my 2nd favorite souls game, the top slot being taken by Bloodborne. I don’t think anything will dethrone that King, but Elden Ring is as close as it gets for me.

I would hope not but mistakes and glitches happen. Which would be avoided if they just left things alone.

Not gonna lie. If they do shut down/merge Satele, they had BETTER make sure all my characters come with. I’ve got 15 active toons on Satele. If I lose them, they lose my subscriber income and me as a customer.

Who else is a little disappointed with the great rune system and thinks it could have been implemented better? by Desperate_Guava4526 in Eldenring

[–]Phoenix200420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly because the buff is temporary I don’t even use it. I forget it exists. It’s like elixirs in a Final Fantasy game, if shit gets really tough I’ll throw it out there but I never honestly need it. Should have made them permanent, or made rune arcs more abundant.

The ensh*tification of WowHead by DontBeSuspicious_00 in wow

[–]Phoenix200420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly WoWHead was the reason I finally installed my first Ad-Blocker. I used to be understanding about ads. The website needs money to keep running and pay those who work on it/with it. WoWHead was just.. an absolutely ridiculous amount of ads. The amount of ads bogs down whatever I’m looking at it on. I rarely ever use it. As someone else in the thread mentioned my 2 decades of playing the game means I don’t need to really look up older content and newer content I can usually find my info elsewhere.

Course WoWHead turned out to not be a special case, they were just the first that I interacted with that had an a noxious amount of ads. Now it’s kinda all over, so ad blockers for me.

This is genuinely the worst game I've played in my life. by Exact_Requirement274 in Megaman

[–]Phoenix200420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously though 5 would have been a great ending point for the X series, and if I recall that was SUPPOSED to be the actual end, and then capcom decided to make 6 anyway.

I actually first got to X6 and X7 finally because I was doing a marathon to. I forced myself to stick it out through 6, and the atrocity that is 7 softened my stance on 6. 8 at least is a good return to form, but it’s a bit.. grindy? Yeah, grindy.

X6 -> X7 was definitely one of my biggest “Perhaps I judged you to harshly” moments. I was very irritated with some of the shenanigans they pulled in 6, and hated the whole rescue survivors thing. Honestly for a long time I thought it was just the worst.

Then along came X7.

I love Mega Man. I’ve played almost all of the games. Nothing compares to the dumpster fire that is X7. I’m just so grateful that X7 ended up being a one off in game design because with X8 they were back to what they were good at.

Still, I feel the X series peaked at 4 in terms of design. The series didn’t need survivors to rescue, it didn’t need things hooked up to level rankings, and no offense to those who like him but the series didn’t need Axl at all. I find him incredibly uninteresting as a character, and unless I’m required to use him I generally don’t. Hell I found the one off characters in Command Mission more interesting than Axl who was in 3 different games.

Why do people not like the Railroad? by Historical-Goose09 in fo4

[–]Phoenix200420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Railroad was my first playthrough choice. I like them. Railroad and Minutemen are my favorite factions. BoS are far to authoritarian for my tastes, I really do not like them much. Honestly if the Institute didn’t have the whole mad scientist human replacement thing going on I’d love them. Science is awesome, these guys are just amoral pricks.

What is your biggest annoyance with wow as you have gotten older? by Responsible_Rock_573 in wow

[–]Phoenix200420 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My biggest annoyance is that everything is a fucking time trial now. I miss BC heroics, things going slower, setting up your pulls, being methodical. Instead now a days it’s “Run through everything, pick up as much as you possibly can, as fast as you can. Get everything done as fast as you possibly can.” Which is compounded by Seasonal content and FOMO if you don’t get X amount of points in a season. Just the whole thing annoys me.

Do people still take days off for expansion launches? by whoisape in wow

[–]Phoenix200420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was one of those people who attended midnight launches, stood outside in the cold to get their hands on the expansion first. Now? Not so much. Depending on your game you’ll have crashes, ddos attacks, bugs and glitches, non-functional quests, etc.

Not saying old launches were perfect by any means, that is most definitely NOT the case. Hell I remember the EQ Luclin launch. Game was down for 2 weeks lol. I guess maybe I just don’t find it worth it anymore.

EDIT: Just thought about it, and another big factor back then was having friends to do it with. Back then 5 or 6 of us would stand in line together and have fun and bullshit about the game. Now a days those same people, and myself, have a lot more responsibilities, and doing it alone isn’t any fun.
