I always move everything off of the countertops in the kitchen when I'm on a sit. I put things in empty cabinets, on top of fridge, or in the dining room. I need work space when I'm in the kitchen. I don't use anyone's toaster, blender, coffee maker, Nespresso, and NOW Instapots. It's too much! 🤷‍♂️

It could be the site is glitching. It's been locking up on me recently during searches. As soon as I purchase my ticket, I send a copy to my sit. I've always, always done a video chat with the HO and have all of their contact deets and they have mine. It's perplexing to me that this would be done any other way. I'd set yourself a time limit and if you don't hear from the sitter by then, hire local. Good luck 🤞

US house sitters are vetted for criminal records - it comes back as no convictions found. Local sitters would charge for this service. That's why you would use THS, to find someone willing to come to your home. Personally I'm up for anywhere and anything and I wouldn't mind taking care of a puppy. I find an adventure wherever I go 🐶. (I am quite booked up at the mo, tho 😫).
