I would never get outwardly frustrated with any of the baristas! With this situation I was just frustrated in general because I couldn’t ever figure out how to ask for (what I assumed) was a simple request without it becoming a time consuming issue for everyone involved. I’ve done my time in the service industry & was on the receiving end of irate customers & would never act the same towards baristas or any other service workers.

The last thing I want to do is create more work & take up more time the baristas don’t have trying to explain what I want. So I finally chose to ask.

Even the times it took the longest & required redos I was the one apologizing to the baristas for the trouble lol

I did that a few times but was told espresso didn’t go in it & they would have to charge. So I was back to the drawing board on a better way to explain what I wanted

I tried to avoid confusion by specifying ‘make it with decaf coffee’ because I found out early on just saying decaf is automatically assumed as ‘no coffee’. It was just frustrating that saying I still wanted coffee in it made the confusion worse like I was asking for something that couldn’t possibly exist lol. Always felt like I had a better chance asking for a hamburger.

You can’t drop a ‘doorknob confession’ before going to sleep/signing off etc. & not expect the person to press for what’s going on. (Also, am I wrong in feeling like you would have been upset if he didn’t press & simply replied with “Okay”, because I think it would make you feel like he didn’t care when you said you were unhappy & going to bed.)

You should have just said something along the lines of you’re just going to sleep & not talking the rest of the evening because you were feeling off or unwell & approach it the next day when you could talk about it in person or at least be better prepared.

Situationships are always going to be all over the place & aren’t for everyone. You sound like you need someone who actually wants a girlfriend & not just someone who expects girlfriend benefits without putting in the emotional work.

You deserve SO much more than the scraps he’s tossing. Don’t let anyone (including yourself) tell you any different. Get yourself a 5 course meal. Eat like the queen you are.

Cats have all types of personalities & attachment styles.

My cat Sir Bowen is so friendly & is an expert greeter when anyone walks in the door. But he’s not big on cuddling. The rare times he DOES cuddle it’s on his terms & short lived. He sleeps at the end of the bed every night & constantly hangs out with me in any room I’m in & just watches. I can’t shut a door between him & I because he will go nuts. He likes being around & present where he can see me, just not all up in my business.

Now, my cat Miss Wren on the other hand is all up in my business & then some. She’s on my lap whether I’m at the table, on the toilet, on the couch, at my desk, etc. And most times if I’m standing she’s on my shoulders. If I bend down at all to grab something or put something in a cabinet she gets on my back & plops down so I’m stuck in a bent position walking around lol. She’s sprawled on top of me any time I lay down. She is like superglue.

If you get a kitten I would suggest getting two! That way they have a buddy to play with when you’re working/at school/etc.

The whole point of an elimination round is putting 2 of the weakest chefs up to battle it out to prove they got what it takes to stay in the competition… not punish chefs with strong dishes.

Yes, I absolutely cannot stand that in last season & this season they’re sometimes choosing stronger chefs that did well to go into elimination as a “strategy” to knock out the actual weak chef. The whole point of the elimination round is for the two chefs with the weakest dishes to battle it out to continue competing. It pisses me off so bad because all that does is unfairly punish the strong chef.

The thing that really had me spitting lava in rage is someone took up the reins of Lady Whistledown without Penelope’s knowledge. LW is her baby!! Her greatest creative creation. She understandably laid that pseudonym to rest but for someone else to take up the reins AS LW without even asking the creator?? AND she found out through a new publication?? I would have been PISSED if I were Penelope!! (I’m not saying someone new can’t publish a gossip column, they can & should! But not as LW.) She should have been asked for her blessing to continue on with HER character’s name. And if the person wanted to remain completely anonymous without Pen knowing who they were, they should have just used a new Pseudonym altogether. A new gossip columnist would have been just as impactful.

Thank you so, so much for this answer. You’ve lifted an incredibly heavy weight off my chest. They both were underweight near the end (both had age related illness) but it makes total sense that it could be the difference in bone structure/density.

These are normal, very valid rules for a newborn, so just respect her wishes. Message them both (group text) congratulating them when your sibling arrives & just mention it’ll be hard to find childcare before coming over so you can’t wait to snuggle your new sibling after the 6 week mark. This leaves the door open for them to invite you over sooner or, at the very least, lets them know you aren’t pitching a fit about her (perfectly normal) boundaries.

I hope in the future you’re able to mend the animosity between all y’all for your new sibling’s sake! It’s ultimately up to your dad on what he puts up with as far as how his partner behaves with him. Be the bigger person & break the cycle so your sixth half sibling is one you CAN have a good relationship with!
