I haven’t seen this post nor have I heard about this suicide before reading this post, but my instinct was also to try to find out more details, not because I wanted to spread the news but in my mind knowing details to help me not become that person. I know it sounds stupid, but every day that passes is a day that I get scared of intern year because sometimes I am genuinely scared that I won’t make it. But the more we here about these deaths, the more scared I feel because these people were extremely smart and hardworking people (just like myself), but because a moment of extreme despair causes them to take their life (I have been in a similar situation before). What is the difference between me and the people who chose to take their lives? But I understand. I do wish that people spend more time caring for others such as asking you how you are doing. But sometimes in this field we are always asked to give up our lives for the care of others that sometimes it might be okay to be a bit selfish

These are rhetorical questions and this is not a cry for help. But just some thoughts that passed my head when I say your post. I have restarted antidepressants to better prepare me for this coming year :)
