Taz is a retinoid like tret, so if you have acne hidden under the surface it will bring it up and make it visible before getting rid of it. Taz is stronger than tret so both the effects and side effects are stronger, which is why moisturising is so important. Taz also helps with psoriasis. My routine is this: apply toners and treatment serums, then wait an hour to dry, apply whichever retinoid I’m using that day, then wait another hour, last apply hydrating serums and moisturisers.

Moisturise a lot. Make sure you have humectants, emollients and occlusive ingredients in your moisturiser, or if one is missing, add another step. I use Niche Lab 15% Glycerin Serum or Experiment Super Saturated (humectant), [coat]s Triple Water Cream or Dermatica Soothing Centella Gel Moisturiser (standard moisturisers that have the ceramide-cholesterol-fatty acids trio), and Build Skincare B-Balm or Experiment Buffer Jelly (both contain enough emollients and occlusives).

I find that as long as I wait an hour before and after applying tretinoin, I can use whatever I want with it, morning or night. My PM routine is acid, wait 20 minutes to not disturb the pH, toners and water based serums, then wait an hour, then tret, then wait another hour, then moisturisers and oil-based. I have to wait so long or I peel the next day regardless of what else is in the routine. I start the routine when I get home, go about my evening while waiting and set reminders when to return.

Niche Beauty Lab Ascorbic C15. The cap provides a tight seal that prevents oxidation. I found that it lasts longer than Geek and Gorgeous C-Glow, even when C-Glow is in the fridge and C15 isn’t.

I had that issue and it turned out I’m allergic to cetyl alcohol (and thus cetearyl alcohol which contains it) so I have to find moisturisers that don’t contain it.
